Top Nigerian music talent: Tuface, Timaya, Banky W, Timi Dakolo, Tosin Martins, Omawumi, Sasha & MI have come together to record a song for Mo Abudu’s Inspire Africa Foundation. The song, ‘Save the World, Save the Child’ was produced by the multi-talented Cobhams Asuquo. Comparisons can be drawn to the world famous ‘We Are The World’ but this song is distinctly Nigeria as it addresses various plights of Nigerian children. All the artistes along with Asa, 9ice, Carl Thomas, D’Banj and Donnell Jones also performed at the Inspire Africa benefit concert last week. The concert was supported by the Lagos State Government and UNICEF.

All proceeds from the song and concert will be donated to programmes for Nigerian street children.

the song is very nice and sounds very original, so what if they used we are the world a few times. And how can anyone say shelling 100k for a good cause is a waste?

The song is nice but not original. Why do they have to repeat phrases from their original songs or even use “we are the world” anywhere in the song?

Please, the song is original, nobody I repeat, nobody owns that phrase “We are the world”…I’m sure our parents and grandparents have been using that phrase long b4 MJ…plus wat repeat phrases do u hear other than “Unu ge gbum madu”…besides there is nothing wrong with that..it is like saying b’cos I use the phrase “Let’s get together” in one song, I cannot use it in another…abeg
