Is it 70 degrees in Boston? If not, abeg don’t call it great weather, I do not like freezing my ass off. How you keep in contact with these people is up to you, the last conference I was at was 3 or 4 years ago and I still exchange emails with them, and one of them is actively helping me transition back to Nigeria.

My suggestion is to go there with a game plan. Know what you want and who can help you get there. Look at the event site now, see if there are any particular speakers or panel members you want to meet, make sure you attend their panel and be actively engaged; introduce yourself afterwards, have a business card for them, ask for theirs and follow up immediately.
The HBS and Wharton conferences can be much more than an opportunity to meet potential spouses or future bedmates; many people play themselves spending the entire time trying to attract someone of the opposite (or same) sex, when they can also get some business done.

Kpakpando the weather has been great in boston this winter o!r u going to come for this year’s?After getting access to these people on that day can u really just randomly call them up one day and they will really connect you?wont you just be like one of the random pple they met at the event

I’ve been to two of these conferences, and that has not been my experience. While there are many personal connections made, you can make incredible business connections there as well especially if you are looking to work in Africa. Some of the speakers they have are people most people would not ordinarily have access to, and if you are focused and assertive enough you can get valuable face time and translate that into a career opportunity for yourself.

The main criticism I had for the conference was, it seemed too Nigeria-centric… but I know why that was. The second issue I had, was the weather in Boston… focking A like what’s wrong with having this conference in early April, before their exams?
