While everyone who attended the Genevieve Pink Ball put their best foot forward, some decided to put out two feet! So here you have it, the Best Dressed of the Night.

With these individuals, it was about giving a new definition to the word perfection; every detail was taking into account and that’s why they shine so brightly. It is the fit, the boldness of their choices and the successful execution of the entire look from top to bottom by: addition, subtraction and balance that puts them on our list. I rest my case, now you be the incorruptible judge!

Ebuka is the epitome of sophistication in this suit. Tailored to perfection, I love that he went for a dark grey suit rather than a black one, as it complements the fuchsia very well. Sonia goes in the right direction with this short piece. It has youthful exuberance written all over it, and the pearls give it the classy touch needed. Aramide and Ngozi’s combine their pink dresses with gold accessories, I love the empire waist line, the sleeves of their dresses, and how they complement their look with chandelier earrings.

Here we see two ladies who choose to play by the book and two others who go for a twist! Ifeoma’s floor length print dress is nothing short of divine and so is the knee length ruched dress. Ifeoma’s dress gives her an enviable elongated silhouette and the other lady, shows off her to die-for curves in her ruched dress with a tasteful deep plunging neckline. Black and green are statement colours, especially in a room full of pink roses! These ladies stand out for their colour choice and beautiful dresses. Both dresses are cinched at the waist; the asymmetric black one with a brooch at the end, and the green dress with an adorable slim pink sash across her waist.  The frill detail on the bodice makes the dress quite alluring.

It is the battle of the sleeves and necklines with these ladies. Hauwa goes for texture and drama, with a black net dress and dramatic frill sleeves, Doyin goes for a sleeveless floral floor length dress and the other two ladies opt for a one-shouldered sleeve and a sweet heart neckline respectively. What I love about this group of ladies is that they make great  fabric choices and colour combinations. They all don’t stick to pink, they mix it up! Their pieces make a  statement so do their accessories!

Going all black in a textured tuxedo blazer and pants is hard to pull off successfully in a Pink ball, where trousers are dedicated to the men, and a splash of the girly pink plays a part, But Bola, shows us how that can be done! Bold, Dramatic, are adjectives that can be used to describe her look. Texture equally makes this look with the shimmering black vest and the blazer along with having her hair in a nice short do. Betty Irabor looks like the belle of the ball; sweet, girly and elegant, showing off her well toned arms in her sleeveless dress! This lady stands glamorous in gold and pink with a sexy peek-a-boo dress. Isio’s heavy embellishments sit well on the soft pink fabric. She keeps the focus on the dress with a bare neckline and her hair nicely pulled the back.

This group of ladies serve up a variety. Elohor draws on some ethnic influence with the Indian sari. A very risky choice indeed, but she has to be applauded for her execution. Lanre DaSilva expresses her love for vintage, with her knee length lace dress, which is such an elegant piece. The colour divide makes it all the more enchanting. We see two more contemporary pieces worn by Femi and Stephanie. Femi’s mini peplum dress is well complimented with her accessories, and as for Stephanie, her simplicity makes quite a loud roar. Less is definitely more!

Onari Duke and Michelle Dede go for floor length dresses. While Michelle chooses to show off her arms, Onari goes for a sheer short sleeve. Onari’s piece is conservative, but that doesn’t seem to take anything away from it! The embellished sleeves and empire waist line, give her the desired dazzle to be on our best dressed list. With Michelle, although her dress is in soft florals, it has such a personality, with the little bits of delicate details; she is able to adequately capture the essence of her Tiffany Amber creation. Lillian and Dorothy both wear fitted dresses, which they both sizzle in! The cut, the fit is all in place, and they don’t overdo the number with elaborate accessorizing; they strike the perfect balance.

Genevieve‘s number is a selective and daring  piece. A big personality is required to pull this dress off. Can a personality get any bigger than Genevieve? While that creates room for an argument, it can’t be denied that she worked this dress seemingly effortlessly! With a high cut slit, she definitely puts the va in va-va-voom!  Bukki is a glowing princess in her bubble hem dress, her accessories, and the sash on her waist add to her looks appeal. Mary Ali-Baba is stunning is this dress! The embroidered details and the fit of the dress make her breathtaking! Our final stunner sparkles in her pleated dress with silver and turquoise embellishments.
