There is no doubt that Dakore Egbuson is a very talented actress. With well-executed roles in movies like ‘Emotional Crack’, she has garnered a large fan base in the course of her movie career. For the past year, Dakore has taken a break from the screen and has been heartily missed by her fans. Well, Miss Egbuson has been cooking up a couple of things! For one, the video for her first single ‘Dont Make Me‘ has made its debut! Breaking with the current musical trend in Nigeria, its something different….a neo-soul song! Check out the video below.

Not bad at all. Nice vibe, groovy beat.
she reminds of viviane green. wow am actually impressed. genevieve and omotola this is how its done.
Beautiful Dakore! She looks like India.Arie in the white outside. Stil on the fence about her singing ability. I’ve always felt using more than one voice in verses is an attempt to hide a dodgy voice…Nice song don’t see it doing much even in Nigeria’s neo-soul market, it needs more strength.
My opinion?……..Beautiful woman!, great actress!………..good first attempt at singing…….but ehmmmm………i definitely wouldn’t listen to this song again…..nor recommend it …….. My opinion………
Love Dakore and her sense of style, I am not too sure about her voice though!! Some voice coaching should help her sound a lot stronger as she already is an ok singer but just ok.
Lol! Wearing a turban don’t make you no India Arie….lol. Okay i’m just hating….gorgeous girl, i love where she’s trying to go but singing is soooo not her forté
I am waiting for the first Nigerian Nollywood act that can really make good music, that said it can only get better as she has made a better attempt than the others we have heard, well done to all of them as hmmm its not easy!
what a u thinking dakore….stop pls
“…has make its debut…”. Proof read please!!!
what is this?
Better than Omotola!
oh nice!!! she tried now…y’all need to give babes props yeah…she’s trying out her neo-soul capabilities.
I see nothing wrongwith this song . . .
everyone wants to sing…….. *hisses*… get a grip,dakore………….. learn from omotola, genevieve and jim iyke….. to think i opened the link thinking it was a photo shoot…….*long hiss*……….
could have been better, i think she did ok, but she’d do wit more coaching!
i dont like the song tho… defly not a hit!
found it boring
She should stay with acting or writing songs. her singing is’nt good at all
Genevieve’s track “missing you” with the ghanaian dude was off the hook. Maybe you guys ought to listen to that before you compare her voice to this mess. Besides I heard Genevieve sing live on Sony Irabo’s show back in 2005 and wow! She ain’t no amateur I can tell you that. Dakore stop pls. I like you a lot don’t get me confusefd I beg you..oh?
luv u girl … but this music just dont sound right…kinda corny
Hun?! You are kidding me right?
I don’t think so.
I totlly agree that Genevieve sounds better. These ladies should leave music for those that know how to do it.
stick to acting,pls.
Oh my goodness
I’m actually quite shocked. I think she is capable of much more. She needed a lot more professional direction I think, or maybe try another genre.
seriously, what is this???????
this is soooo wrong! even as a joke, its wrong! she doesn’t have a voice…is it by force??? why must this girl make a fool of herself like this??? didn’t she learn from genevieve and omotola??
oooooohh noooo gurll
pikin wey no dey hear word; abeg stick to one thing.
ew ew ew!!! my ears have just been assaulted. this aint neo-soul, it ain’t even soul.
love u girl..but hun-hun…
U are so right.
ehmmm Erykah badu anyone???.hehe but she tried.. atleast she can sing more than omotola, genevive n co cos those ones can’t sing…so when is stella damascus gonna realise her’s at least we know that lady can sing as well.
its not fair to say that dakore’s singing isnt good at all. she is a good singer not very good or amazing butmuch better than omotola n dare i say genevieve.
me i like the song sha n i think she tried…she’s not afraid of making the kind of music that she wants to
u guys are so funny.it was bad sha…wait o!but must all nigerian actors sing, wots al these….
i held dakore in high esteem, with this…but why do nigerian actors sing as a last resort 4 cash…am just disapointed…
what is this????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
wat is all these about? must all actresses sing, dint everyone learn from genevieve’s silly move about her firs song…pls dakore u need to find better lead roles in movies as singing is an at all area 4 u…wats “DONT MAKE ME LOVE U……..” totla rubissssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
da voice ain dat bad. can only give a proper verdict wen i hear her live. now da song….it seemed to go on forever if u know wot i mean. twas pretty boring and i couldnt wait for it to end. not a song dat’l make me buy a c.d or pay to hear her live. sori Dakore. i love girl but….
Very boring – am sorry – i got to tell it like it is
The actress with the best voice is Chioma Chukwuka Apotha, but no many have heard her yet. I discovered her voice in one movie. Amazing. All these other ones should go sit down somewhere including Genny whom i love dearly. Music is not for you – sing in the confinement of your bathroom
What the hell…
Looks very much like what India Arie and Erika Badu has sang/produced…Hiss
Stick to one thing girl… This is rubbish…
Dakore is stunning- one of my favorite actresses. As far as a career in the music industry, she seems to have potential as a singer. I’m curious to see what else she comes up with.
I don talk am before, na pesin wey get plenty liver and thick skin dey post somethin for Bella Naija.
But yall knew acting was her forte? chaaaiii..Bella Naija audience, I dey hail o
Madam nice try and all the best. Britney Spears doesn’t sing better than you, in essence you need a strong/superb song writer/director and a great producer.
You are blessed.
dis is beautifu, shes classy and sassy..the best.and she doesnt fake at all unlike genev who is very local.omo t is better than genevieve
JESU…. what is this!?
naaaaah mate, Dakore should stick to acting. This was awful.
Ok I just googled the director. The video was shot in Los Angeles over a year ago…so its a bit old. I guess things have moved on since then and they probably just wanted to release it anyway. But still that’s no excuse.

Publicity Release Posted: July 02, 2008 09:30:39 EST
Nollywood Star’s Quest for TV Fame
Hollywood, CA, July 02, 2008 | SHOOT Publicity Wire | — When beautiful Nigerian actress/singer and model Dakore Egbuson chose to shoot the pilot for her celebrity ‘reality’ chat show as well as her first music video, “Don’t Make Me” in Hollywood, there was one company she trusted to handle all of the creative demands each project required: the award-winning Walker Fitzgibbon TV & Film Productions, spearheaded by executive producer-director Mo Fitzgibbon and her partner, writer-director Robert W. Walker.
Walker and Fitzgibbon, joined by their co-producers Fernando Viquez and Deb Snyder, simultaneously shot and generated a sexy and fun filled talk show and music video capitalizing on Dakore’s charming personality by creating multiple segments including: news, celebrity interview, fashion and beauty, fine dining and a full performance of Dakore with an R&B house band. The Dakore Show premise centers on traveling to the most glamorous and entertaining cities in the world and discovering true wealth. Anchored in Nigeria and Los Angeles, there is no doubt that the Dakore Show will inspire and entertain! “Inspirtainment!” is the show’s concept coined by Dakore and her producing partner O. Lou Akande..
To attain their infamous cutting edge style, Walker Fitzgibbon utilized 3 HD cameras to capture Dakore in multiple set ups including: special effect green screen, camera car driving, and life style scenes in Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
According to Fitzgibbon, “This production really let us fly. Anything we envisioned, Dakore could handle, being an extremely talented actor and singer. We converted the Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills into our talk show/performance sets. All the sets were uniquely designed using aquatic marine elements, to draw parallels to Dakore’s culture.”
Dakore’s music video “Don’t Make Me” is slated to be released, worldwide, in early fall to MTV BASE (Africa), United Kingdom, and BET (US).
OMG this is painful
LWKMD!
U R Right!! HAHAHA
Dakore is a respected actress and thats wot she needs to stick to.this song is just a bit embarassing……..
No! No! This isn’t Neo-Soul. Has a more R&B sounding thing to it. Neo soul is Erykah Badu or Jill Scott (sometimes)… this is boring. The lyrics are dumb and the video is sucky. She should stick to acting… she’s “okay” at that.
