You may have heard hit songs like Naeto-C’s Kini Big Deal, Dare Art Alade’s Carry Dey Go (feat.Tu Face) and Sasha’s Adara but may never have met the mind that produced these songs. You may know him as one of the MTN Project Fame judges but there are so many things you don’t know about him. We caught up with Tee-Y Mix, the man behind the mix and asked him a couple of questions:

Tee-y Mix

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
There is nothing like perfect happiness and it is only God that gives true happiness. God is perfect and humans are full of imperfections. There will always be challenges but the hope in God keeps us going…and He is the only source of true happiness.

What is your greatest fear?
Fear of failure and what the future holds. I have been able to overcome my fears, one step at a time. I am that point when anything can be achieved; fear should not hold anyone down.

Trait you deplore in people:
Hypocrisy

What do you think of the Nigerian music industry?
We are now at the point where Nigerians appreciate Naija music. The industry has its challenges but we are overcoming one step at a time. I think it is growing and it is a great opportunity to be a part of this change.

At what point do you think you are successful?
There is always something new to explore…there is no point where you say I have arrived, that’s the beginning of death. There are always new heights to achieve…

Most used Words:
No Wahala

How Nigerian are you?
Hundred percent. Do I have a choice? I was born here; I have lived here all my life; I have made all my money here, so I am totally Nigerian…I believe we are good people, we can make a great nation but we just need our leaders to be more sensitive to the needs of the people.

Last lie told:
I’ll call you back!

If you were to die and come back as something/someone, what would it be?
I will come back again as Temitayo Ibitoye. Why would I like to be any other person?

Music Producer you respect:
Cobhams Asuquo. He has ears for good music and knows how to make gold out of any sound. I think he is not only a producer but a musician with depth…I respect anyone that’s successful because I believe that they have sacrificed a lot to be where they are.

If not a music producer, what will you be?
I can be everything I want to be, I only need to set my mind to it.

Advice to budding artistes:
Be true to yourself. There is a price to pay for everything you are passionate about. There is no such time that you can finish sowing and think that you should begin reaping. To continue reaping, you need to keep sowing….I am still paying my price.
