I really like Stephanie, even with some trying times in the past few years, she’s managed to bounce back bigger & better than ever. If only she’d stop faking an American accent and tripping over her tongue in the process.

oh ok so its not lacefront, but at least you were not bold enough to even dare say thats her own hair  that woulda been too funny. I guess she is rocking that Indian remy to the hardest i see.

    • KK September 8, 2009 at 4:16 PM

KEL (the rapper) is the Stephanie Okereke of nigerian music.
their accents are proofs of insecurity in themselves.
a woman that is not secured in herself is not beautiful. no matter how much cleavage you pop out and how flawless the skin.
I would begin to take Stephanie and Kel serious when they stop that crap accent they form.

    • Tell It like it Is (http://myafricanmoviereviews.blogspot.com/) September 9, 2009 at 1:53 AM

Oh my gosh, you couldnt have said it any better KK, you hit the nail right on the head. Stephanie and her accent, I guess its become a habit like biting nails or something and she cant stop bcos trust me a lot of us have been saying this for years about her fake accent and she still cant stop. Then iheard she came to usa to attend some film school for a few months in NYC, the day i heard that i was “Chineke Meh, Lord help us, we are dead” now before this girl is going to fake her accent more than ever.

I hate watching african movies and seeing ppl faking their accent, My hand will be on the forward button instantly. This is the same reason i cant stand watch african movies shot abroad (recent ones shot in Virginia, Maryland, Atlanta etc) with MEDIOCRE actresses who cant act a lick to safe their lifes – nigerian girls who probably came to america aftter university in naija and all of a sudden just cos they have lived inusa for 5 or so years they want to rattle. I will never watch movies with such crap almost always its guaranteed to be crap.

When iwatch nigerian movies or ghana movies, i want realness, I want to hear real african accents like

      - Magid Michel (now thats a real ghanaian accent from someone who attended an international primary school and went on to a cape secondary or accra secondary school) thats the real ghanaian accent (not the village kind)
-As much as he sucks in acting he speaks true Ghanaian accra city accent but sometimes he tries do the rrrrr nonsense
-Yvonne Nelson also speaks real accra girl ghanaian accent no pretense
      -Genevieve Nnaji
-Rita Dominic (no need for introduction)
-Bimbo AKintola (all the cast of Keeping Faith kept it real)
-Chioma Chukwuka (starred in Saving Sarah)
-Uru Eke (starred in Widows men)
      -Ufuoma Ejeonorbor
      -Mercy Johnson
-Ini Edo (except when she is playing city roles where she starts to fake accent and thats why i would rather she remains in village roles for ever cos it suits her best)
      - Kate Henshaw (she has tobe one of the realest when it comes to showcasing her nigerian accents, no pretense whatsoever and i absolutely love her for being her)

I dont want to hear fake accents from these individuals
      - Jim Iyke (at least since he returned after the actors ban 3 yrs ago he toned a bit but please dont give him a role where he is playing a yankee boy cos for sure he will start rattling his nonsense again)
-Nadia Buari of Ghana (we know you want to go to hollywood but slow ya role, you are good not great so stop flattering yourself and acting with an accent like you dont come from ghana.
-EUcharia ANuobi (and her fake disgusting british accent – woman you aint not Joke Silva – at least with Joke it suits her well – go sit down somewhere UK)
      - Mike Ezerounye
      - Desmond Elliot (dependig on the role)

Maybe yall can fool those who live in najia and never travelled out of the country but let the truth be known, when you fake your accent we know you are faking yoru accent, you are not fooling anyone and honestly you look nothing bUT RETARDED when you force your accent so stop it.

I will continue this on my blog
      http://myafricanmoviereviews.blogspot.com/

Oh!! guys whats that u are talking about..okay she has a good smile but the hairs are fake……and more the quality of the pics is …..i dont know!! well she need to improve on the pauses may be to look far better…….i think problem was the camera man she used heheheheh……pull up.

    • myra September 12, 2009 at 11:40 PM

agree wif dolapo. she sud definitely work on her diction. mayb try 2 be more natural n not worry 2 much bout sounding american.
not a fan, but i’m always happy when someone tries 2 better themself. unlike some in d business who r stuck in a rut already!
n anyone, what is a “lacefront wig”?

    • silva September 13, 2009 at 12:48 AM

well said, the fake accents, there was a movie steph and nadia starred in 2geda, gosh, it was painful watchin dat movie bcos of the fake accents…..the most guilty of the guys is mike ezuruonye, in one movie he was actin as some1 dat was had gone abroad afta secondary school, omo come see ‘phune’, the accent was smtin else…..

    • Kibalama September 13, 2009 at 1:03 PM

hmmm!!! she is trying to keep African….o`right!! i dont mind the accent because almost all Nigerians whom i have been trying to watch their movies have bad accents BUT thats ok …..i mean ….they try to be Nigerians and not European, America…etc.

    • habeebah October 21, 2009 at 4:55 PM

      don’t mind them Steph……u r awesome.
