Love & Romance was indeed a fitting theme for the beautiful wedding of Ronke Olawande and Gideon Odushola. The couple met at university while they were both studying chemical engineering and became best of friends. Friendship blossomed into a deeper bond and in 2005 – the couple got engaged. Ronke and Gideon immediately got into wedding planning mode and had their official family introduction in June 2006 with a wedding date set for sometime in 2007. Sadly tragedy struck as the groom’s sister passed away in October 2006. It was a devastating period for the couple as they were both very close to her.
In 2008, the couple finally summoned courage and resumed wedding plans yet again in 2008, with the full support of family and friends who travelled from all over the world to share their special day with them.
On the 27th of June 2009, all was set for Ronke and Gideon to celebrate their love which had sustained them through thick and thin! The Church of England, St Marylebone’s Parish was the venue for the religious blessing while The Porchester in Bayswater was the site for the reception. The colours of the day were red (the bride’s favourite colour) and white with a touch of gold. At the reception, you could fully experience the beauty of the theme and colours; centrepieces were martini tall vases filled with red flowers surrounded with red rose petals and candles – the stage was set up with a starlight back drop and black, white and red dance floor…it was all so magical. The bride looked beyond stunning in a unique Grecian inspired masterpiece by Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah while the groom was all smiles as he looked dapper in a bespoke 3 piece suit complemented with a bold red tie. Their day was filled with fun, laughter and joy as the couple, their families and their guests danced and celebrated. The guests were even in for a special treat as they were thrilled by the bride’s dad special dancemoves to ‘Ijoya’ during the father/daughter dance. Truly a stunning celebration of love. We are wishing Ronke and Gideon a blessed and happy life together!
