I think its rude to air your underwear in the open where other people can see them (unless its a dormitory or something). Dont have a washing machins so I put the ‘lingerie’ on a hanger in the bathroom and it dries before night fall. I think its dirty to stockpile dirty underwear. Must reaaly stink by the time you get round to washing them- all those ‘secretions’ and ‘missed piss’? Yuck.

abi oh! Thats why I tried not to stay away from Nigeria, before I get so used to the American lazy-ass style. With my annual visits, I say re-adjusting shouldn’t hurt that bad.

Hire a washer man (needs no NEPA, saves power bill, and you employ one more Nigerian and stimulate the economy).

This is funny. My mum always taught us to NEVER gather underwear. nd that airing all that is just plain tacky. Ask me if I apply those rules

But since I have a fence, I’ll advice natural sunlight. There’s no NEPA to even power a dryer in a country with plenty scorching sun in Abuja and up north especially. Washing machine definitely though, my hand-washed results satisfy me more. And the washerman does a pretty good job.

LOL! I hear you…It’s tricky though. We had washing machines while growing up and they all “died” bcos of NEPA. It was either they were shutting the electricity on and off every 5 mins which caused the fuse to explode, or they were giving us “half-current”, which was even worse. It’s definitely a good investment if you have a very powerful generator. When I said “powerful”, I mean like those semi-industrial types. The one we had back then couldn’t pick up the electric load of the washing machine. I really don’t know what will become of me when I relocate back to Naija. The thought of sitting down in front of a big “basin” and hand-washing a mountain full of clothes with loads of OMO!!! >:-( …not funny…I’d gladly give up a plasma TV for a washing machine.
