Shola Adewunmi and Tayo Laditi Wedding Bella Naija001They say love can be found in the most unusual places…
You might not expect it and then cupid’s arrow strikes!
Shola Adewunmi and Tayo Laditi met about 3 years ago when they went to do some shopping at Park ‘n’ Shop in Lagos, Nigeria. Tayo spotted Shola, they got talking, exchanged numbers and so their love story began…
3 years later, Tayo proposed at the site of their first meeting and on the 24th of August 2009, the couple solemnized their union at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish. It was an emotional and uplifting ceremony as Shola and Tayo pledged their vows.
Shola was princess-like in her intricately embellished wedding gown while Tayo bucked convention by wearing a Sherwani. The groomsmen were also dressed in the Indian attire while the bridesmaids looked striking in red asymmetrical fishtail dresses by Nigerian designer Valerie Davids.
The couple and wedding party then transitioned to the reception where the gold and red theme helped create a festive atmosphere as they enjoyed their special day.
Beautiful day for a special couple! Wishing them a blessed, fruitful and love-filled marriage!

Nice, love the overall choice of colours, it made the bride stand out even more in the pics. The bridesmaids dresses are beautifully made. Love the fact that the groom did go for the unconventional – it is great to be diverse at times!
Overall, it looks like a fun wedding.

      I love the GROOM!

I know folks usually focus on the bride but I am so feeling him because he strikes me as someone who does what he has to do to make himself happy … and that takes courage and the ability to laugh at yourself. Def. my kind of person.

The Bride looks lovely and she definitely hooked her girls up:)

the bride looks beautiful, the groom hansome, the bridesmaids amasing and the grooms men hottt. that is what I call a chassy wedding. Boy does that groom look happy to be getting married…….lol

      One Word (ok two words)
      Classy and Unique

    • ladi November 6, 2009 at 6:08 PM

I second that! Loved the confidence and guts to pull the Paskistani-Indian thing off. Maybe the trends will go from place to place and Our Trad will be next!!!!

I see Moroccan weddings for White Amerians, maybe when we have serious wedding planners with knowledge of the diverse African events can pull something off. Like an Edo or Igbo wedding with the Coral beads and calabash with palm wine, etc

      Hopefully, nothing stereotypical.

Back to the point, I love the bridesmaid and flowergirl dresses!!!!

      God bless their marriage.
