December 9th, 2009 at 4:58 AM
Nse I guess is too old for the Future Awards
December 9th, 2009 at 5:04 AM
Just saw that 31 is the limit. Omoni Oboli and Ali Nuhu need to quietly withdraw. What the hell is wrong with 9ja peeps. Anyway, wetin be my own sef, Funke Akindele won it last year..
December 9th, 2009 at 7:44 AM
Omoni is not over the limit. She is 30.
December 9th, 2009 at 9:29 AM
Have you read the THE ABYSSINIAN BOY? I have and in as much as it was by a young guy, it was badly written with numerous gramatical errors and general bad editing of the story’s flow. Who else has actually read it? Interesting to know your thoughts
December 9th, 2009 at 9:32 AM
how come you know their birthdays?
December 9th, 2009 at 12:28 PM
Thanks for your comment Anon on the book ‘The Abyssinian boy’ I said thanks because you are highly entitled to that. I do not know who you are or your achievements else I would have asked what you have achieved during your teens. We all know how Nigerian teenagers have all embraced social vices like 419, cyber crime, prostitution, pick pockets and others but here is a child who nurtured the art of writing at a very young age and came out with a novel at the age of 21. I do not claim he is perfect but people like him needs to be encouraged and for other youths to follow suit. One of the problems with Nigeria is that we want already made things, we want foreigners to do everything for us, we can’t grow home talents and that is why talents die prematurely in Nigeria. The future awards is not for established people, it is for young talents of the future that needs to be promoted. So let’s all vote Onyeka Nwelue as the creative artiste of the year and Ayo Arigbagbu as the business owner of the year.
December 10th, 2009 at 7:45 AM
I’m a South African based film maker, please VOTE for Adekunle Samuel Owolabi as the Creative Artist of Year. He’s behind several documentaries we’ve produced in Africa especially the popular “SOJOURN SERIES” which was shot in South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
December 10th, 2009 at 8:00 AM
Congratulations Adekunle Owolabi on your nomination. Remember i told you, your works will speak for you. I am proud of you
December 10th, 2009 at 10:41 AM
why is Christiana Adelana vj tana (channel o) not in this list, and why the hell is cynthia okpala in the list. Since that babe won mtv vj search with 1 million naira persin no fit hear word for her.
December 10th, 2009 at 10:53 AM
cythia okpala works for kiss group not mtvbase.
December 10th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
the site is really slow o…no be small…but in all sa, the BN team is still trying and we get to read lots of fabulous articles on BN
December 10th, 2009 at 2:17 PM
he/she thought it was badly written, that’s the boy/girl’s opinion.
Must everybody have a positive opinion about something. When you disagree with something people call you a hater and start writing long epistles na wa o!na by force!!
December 10th, 2009 at 2:54 PM
Evidently Nigerians are still passionate about Nigeria. This is sunlight!
December 10th, 2009 at 3:55 PM
Vote for Jerry Uchechukwu Eze – Excellence in Public Sector.
vote nowwwwww
December 10th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
now that others have mentioned it and the chances of bella and/or her team noticing might increase, i must add that bella naija can be painfully slow sometimes. please, please, PLEASE improve upon it and your site could be that much closer to perfection.
also, i think it’d be a good idea for you to create a poll or open thread where your readers can give you feedback as far as ways you can improve, what you can include, etc.
December 10th, 2009 at 7:43 PM
Thanks so much for the feedback.
It is something that we are investing in and seeking a solution to.
Will be resolved soon.
As such a ‘media’ heavy site with lots of activity, its a challenge but it shall be resolved by the new year.
Feel free to email any feedback to bella@bellanaija.com

Onyeka onwelue for creative artist of the yr.he is a creative person..his work is speaking for him..why are critic him?vote for him..its not easy at his age..
December 11th, 2009 at 11:20 AM
http://www.winniejacobs.blogspot.com. He’s 21. Barely three months after his first novel, The Abyssinian Boy, (a book that took three months to be completed and four years to publish), was released into the market, a Danish film-maker, Lasse Lau of KRAN Film Collective, Belgium, indicated interest to make a movie out of it…….Think about that. Must it be foreigners that keep seeing the good in us, why can’t we see the good in us. Go to http://www.thefuturenigeria.com and vote Onyeka Nwelue as Creative Artist of the Year or SMS 33120.
December 11th, 2009 at 2:13 PM
Just wanted to congratulate all the nominees!
I work with Yellow Dog and this is a very exciting and unexpected honour for us! I hope you will support us by voting Yellow Dog for Team of the Year!!!
December 13th, 2009 at 4:37 PM
i think people should find out about things before they talk. where you there when these people were born? the age limit is 31 and omoni oboli is not over 31. the future awards is very credible incase you dont know and they verify stuff. I know when she first came into nollywood as a teenager in 96. if you do the maths, u’ll see she is under 31. So she got married early and had her kids early. does that make her over 30. my friend got married at 20 immediately after school and started having kids, if you see her, you wont even know she has kids so let her be. She started life early and the sky is her starting place. bringing down one’s age is so pld school. If you meet her, u’ll know she’s not the kind of person that will bring down her age for any reason. Ride on girl, i am solidly behind you. Nse is not on the list because she is older.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:54 PM
i just saw that the online voting is suspended for the weekend but you can still vote by telephone. to vote for my girl omoni; text TFA (space) omoni oboli (space) Actor of the year to 33120 (nigeria) 81696 (uk) 97605 (US). She’s a sweetheart and lets face it, the girl can act.
December 13th, 2009 at 4:57 PM
omoni is not over the limit. Ask people who know her from way back. The girl is an early starter and settled into marriage really early, lets not crucify her for that. Vote for her. she deserves it, to manage acting, being a wife and motherhood is not beans. she needs our love and support.
December 14th, 2009 at 8:53 PM
ovbiebo richardson is definately the best shot for the creative artist category. An outstanding, creative and endowed artist who has a unique way of expressing ideas and concepts in what is known as art. i believe and am sure he is worth giving the vote.
December 20th, 2009 at 5:17 AM
I think Bella naija deserves to be acknowledge for the service they render to people like me. bella naija is the only way I get to keep up with things that are happening back home in Nigeria…thanks Bella x
