With each issue of Genevieve Magazine, one thing remained constant, the inspirational musings of the Editor in Chief, Betty Irabor. These editor’s notes have now been compiled to create a new book “Morning Dew“. On the 25th of March 2010, the book was launched at an intimate and inspiring book launch held at the Muson Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
On stage, there were performances from Timi Dakolo and Dayo, a stirring new artiste. There were chapter readings from the book by women and men including Dr. Doyin Abiola, Nimi Akinkugbe, Fela Durotoye and Dammie Amolegbe. Finally, cake were cut to celebrate both the launch of the book and the birthday of the author.
BN will be bringing you a review and excerpts from the book soon.
For now, explore photos from the event and red carpet.

will always appreciate naija women cause of there style.Betty Irabor ,a woman after my heart.the lord will bless.
My favourites have to be Uchenna Ezenna, Nikki Bakare and the lady in pink second after Rita Dominic… Love her shoes! Folake Coker’s bag is cute and the woman of the hour looked quite nice as well. Thanks for clarifying that the first picture was with her son cos I was like Dammmnnnn, the woman is pulling a Madonna! Even if she was, more power to her. Nice pictures all round sha
Glam! Simply Glam!!! Meanwhile where did Niki Bakare spring from? She looked tres hawt!!
that does not look like Ruth of Thisday. Funmi is fab for Life mehn!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, lots of pearls and floral print! Super cute.
awww everyone looks awesome..but wait o,ruth osime is dat u????…shud we be worried??? i honestly didnt recognise her till i saw d name tag,not a very good look ma’am!
everyone looks rly gud, proud of my naija ladies…always reppin’…ruth osime is dat u??? shud we be worried?? jeeez didnt recognise u until i saw d name tag…choi!
the lady in pink after scary rita dominic is Carmen Ohen .. she looks AMAZING .. best dressed for me .. oooh an cute look for niki
HOT pics! all the ladies look glam and fab! nigerian ladies stay looking fresh and exquisite
I notice a floral pattern in the ladies outfits … hmmm…intersting… that linda edozie looks good oh!!
OMG. Ruth Osime. NO NO NO. what the heck? someone told you you were anna wintour. thathair is so not working for you. You also need to get good support up there and also find a way to balance it out.
Nkiru- Im actually pleasantly suprised. The makeup is slightly toned down. I hate the hair as always, but we are getting there
Lanre Da Silva looks great compared to normal, but she needs some help with her make up. Folake Tiffany Amber- her bag is gorgeous!
Linda- NO. you have a slamming body but that is a tacky top
Nike Bakare- gorgeous, other lady in pink- amazing
Tara- dress is lovely- shoes too
I’ve been loving the recent string in red carpets lately, but this one, not so much…
but come on, whats up with Funmi and her hair? even her whole outfit is wrong! what was she thinking?
and Lanre DaSilva and Nkiru(plus her hair) need to work on their make-up. its always the same thing with a really bad choice in lip color….
even Tara isn’t doing such a good job at promoting her own empire, her makeup doesn’t even look all that.
anywho…
Uche Ezenna, fabulous, lovely, as always.
Linda Edozien…STUNNING! and the girl above her–cute–looks like a model.
Niki Bakara, cute.
Rita dominic looks terrible. she and a lot of the guests fit into the category of wearing nice things, but not exactly things that look flattering on them. just because the outfit is hot/cute/or expensive does not mean it works for you.
make no one call me bad belle oooo. lol
Yup, Linda Edozien is fire!!!!
well-well-well finally we can have morning dew live , this is
very commendable Lady Bet, welldone i promise to follow all
series diligently, you inspire me thanks
we will not call you because you are one.
as usual, you seem to have so much free time on your hands.
The day you get a job and a life, i will run around Times square nude!!!!
Abeg which wrestling ring was Ruth Osime stepping out from???, Folake totally looks like a designer for once, she usually turns out not so smashing but today, something definitely changed…as 4 Ri-Ri (Dominic) we ‘ve to start praying for her, it seems she’s just on a steady downward slope…
Pple yapping Nkiru, abeg today seems to be one of her better days so better embrace it, n i dont kno bout u but i’ve accepted d clashing face as dere’s not much we can do bout it…
On Tara n Lanre da silva—the make up needs serious help, especially tara, haba…abeg consult Banke for help osiso…
Totally loving d chic above linda, linda herself, n others…Then wats with Funmi Okigbo…ah ah why try so hard to look like gloria gaynor in 2010, pls oh… n ZiZi’s a total let down…why have such a hot body at ur age n u cant work it, she looks like she heading to a backyard barbeque…
All in all, d ladies trying, so lets kip helping em…cheers!
She is beautiful, no doubt about that, but her top looks like something a high school girl in the 90s would wear….not good.
see me see wahala!
what is wrong with my comment? must everything be “all rosey, kiss butt, blah blah”?
its not all roses, sweetie.
if they look a mess, im gonna say it.
and the time you learn to hop off my jock and mind your own business, i will throw a fiesta!
also since you had time to read all the comments, all the posts, and reply to several of them, who REALLY is jobless and has more time on their hands?
bad belle indeed.
BELLA! i see you added more pictures, the last ones you added look lovely.
I agree with U on Tara Durotoye.I don’t feel her make up at all.I just wonder….
This Eme Akenzua lady is grace personified.
understated elegance.
Dimeji,you’re so fine…
Florals are in and I fully expected naija babes to rock the bolder more vibrant versions (nice) so I love funmis unexpected delicate liberty style floral and humungous “statement necklace” style pearls…
i am sure bella can take the time to ask “guests ” for their names otherwise it comes across as quite rude just becos they are not as well known by naija standards!
Pls this Saheed Suleiman should get some food in to salvage those chop stick legs fram snapping, if thats his wife…pls acceot this public apeal…feed d man!
…Carmen Ohen, you go girl!
@abi u took d words rite out of my mouth,i dont think its fair IMO
linda edozien is very beautiful no doubt n i like her,but dt top is so 2000 n late!there are some cloths no matter how expensive, even if its given to me for free i cant wear it,and am tlkn abt ruth osime’s dress, its not nice in anyway.u must not wear everytin u see on d runway
like some1 said,we shld all get used to nkiru by now, lol!nike bakare rocks, simple yet chic
I’m amazed at how cruel some of these comments are. Nigerian women are beautiful and on the red carpet look very well put together. It pains me to read some of the vicious comments on this page. The men and women in these pictures are handsome and beautiful (namely Niki, Tara, Funmi, Racheal, Carmen, Linda, Funmi, Amaechi, Zizi, Basketmouth, Adora). If you have nothing positive to say, kindly shut the hell up.
JJ, this page clearly has been set up to recieve ‘opinions’ of people’s style not their personalities, so i don’t see why u’re drinking panadol for these people’s headache, get off ur moral high horse n get busy, if u don’t like the comment section stay away or better still as u say…’kindly, shut the hell up!’ *hisssssssssssssssssss*
Thanks for clearing things up for me Kay; I was a little confused. Please send me a quick email when you are photographed on the red carpet so I can opine on your style.
rita dominic’s pups are so sexy….animal print my favourite.FIERCE N LUV
funmi iyanda is just too stylish! effortlessly chic.
was confused on what to wear to a dinner party in August but can now figure out what to wear. might not know hw u’ve helped me. thanks a lot
