BN Exclusive – WORLD PREMIERE: D’banj – I Do This
Posted on Wednesday, September 29th, 2010 at 4:54 PMBy Jibola L
Here is another song from the Scapegoat CD Single off D’banj‘s brand new album which is due to hit the streets in December 2010. So far (in case you hid under a rock and missed it) he’s dropped Mr Endowed, Scapegoat and now this. With the direction of what we’ve heard, it looks a lot like D’banj and Don Jazzy are exploring a whole new vista for the multiple award winner.

this song is confusing my ears…
i love d’banj and all but….erm…..wth!!!!!
HORRIBLE. Cmon
Pls Dbanj work some Magic this time around!
@becca maybe u r confused fellow…..no hard feeling but u shud apreciate good & quality music or criticise contructively or SHUT UP!!!! d song is good, d beat is very fine.
@ David Kolawole, you just managed to displayed your immaturity.People are allowed to have differing opinions. You think the music is fine and Becca thinks it is not.Do you have to attack her? People have the choice to like what they want to like.It is not a do or die affair. So if your family member/friend stated they didnt like something you thought was awesome you’d tell them to “SHUT UP” ?
don’t mind davis, that one is his palava…i sha don’t like it and i will say it again. THE SONG IS CONFUSING MY EARS!
Thank God you are not God!
The first two grew on me..but this one..err yea..not a chance. Don’t really get the song tbh..
lol! Love Dbanj but 9ja may not b d place to experiment with ‘new’ sounds!!! Personally, prefer the old sound to this wharrever this is!
nice intro….i love d banj no mata wat haters n critiques say……..
ok……..ITS OFFICIAL!!! TIMES UP!!!!
D TOP SPOT IS VACANT! BANKY W OR LYNXXX, PLZ STEP UP!
D’BANJ u did this to ur self! 3 disappointing singles back to back! well he had a good run! we ladies had fun watching u but its time to watch a new hottie with talent! xoxo
Mr endowed is cool jor
this is lana.com
I actually like the experimentation with the new sound, it’s good for D’Banj. What i don’t understand is D’Banj’s shouting “yai yai ah ah oh oh yeah yeah”. The lyrics are aiight.
That said, Don jazzy is mad talented. Loving the beat and the intro is so legit (it has an African feel to it with the chants. Sorta reminiscent of the Lion King soundtrack). This song could definitely grow on me.
@geekgirl…na wa o!!! r u becca’s attorney? anyways i’ve said & i’m sayin it..be constructive nt destructive…..GROW BABE!!
better than the last for two thank goodness… rad beat – fela meets dbanj meets drum and bass meets daddy yankee
Oh Dbanj…sigh… The beat of scapegoat and this one is are actually nice. Loving the African feel this one has and the lyrics of the bridge are decent. It’s his lyrics that just throw things off but again he makes them his own so kudos to him for that but men, homeboy needs to be putting some better use to these beat. I’m just saying…
It gets worse…SMH
Really???? WTF?????
Dbanj.. how now?
i think as an artist in the music industry u need to be constantly exploring but this is below par.we all know what D’bang can bring to the table talk more of Don jazzy
Maybe cos i like D’banj so much that is why i hardly see where he goes wrong cos this song is doing it for mi agan..i will definitely play it on and on again..my own opinion
Mohits have developed the capacity to swing people’s mood to suit what ever they wish to project just to provide variety of tunes for different moods. This is what I call Mohits carnival chant. Watchout for this in a concert with all Mohits stars in their elements. The crowd will go wild. Its DONJAZZY again !!!!!!!!!
entering self destruct mode, if hes not careful….
wowowowowowowowowo dbanj i doont understabd this any more i really like dbanj but this is crap crap shit ,go and listen to kingdavid and crew and understand what music is its only amount of time till real music hits nija i said it two years ago its only amout of time till this mo hits crap hits the fan
Okay so Don Jazzy, u are one talented SOB! I mean really! But what a waste though. Dbanj just fucked the joint up and that’s an understatement. Last album was off the chains but this one is just not working. Don Jazzy should have reserved this beat for some more talented person, MI, Saucekid, LYNX, or even Wandy sef cos wande get lyrics and voice pass this guy.
I think dbanj needs to take a break to travel arnd the world, shag several chicks of various races, eat foreign food, soak in some beauty in the world and then come back inspired to give us some feel good music that we can feel and vibe to like he did so well with the last album
Haha. I cosign!! But please he should use protection when shagging the chicks of foreign “races” o. AIDS is real and as we know, e no dey show for face.
Yup, Don Jazzy is a talented SOG!! So crazy.
d’banj nice singles, hopin to hear better tracks when d albim finally comes tho…
i mean when d album finally come on sale
I quite like this though!
dis is stupid…..Mr Endowned ur swagg is normally on point but u’ve ran out of ideas shey? x

I haven’t listened to it yet but the comments have got me lol-ing. I shall come back to comment on the song *fingers crossed (c0s I like dbanj)*
It’s not bad jo. U guys should chill. I’m goin to listen to it again. Good bye.
Like all D’ banj music it will grow on you whether ypo like it or not
Dbanj is so over!!!
the guy is so tired of singing
hahahahahaha @ les horrible
This is a fantastic track, with the East African nomadic intro and the Indian sitar, great stuff.
D’banj is showing his versatility and creativity with this single, he has just raised the bar in Nigerian popular music.
I hope to hear more of this type of creativity in future from him and other Nigerian artistes.
Please people love my song. I’m running out of creative ideas.
LOL! Whoever this is, you’re a meanie expect of course is D’banj(then, don’t worry bro, it happens to the best of us. just take a break!
Dbanj is taking the piss. It’s not by force to put out music every year haba. I won’t even waste my bandwidth downloading a copy of any of this new stuff, talkless of paying with my own naira. dbanj needs to SATDOWN!
We are coming for the heads of the bosses.
RMG presents: Bueka Figure 8 ft Jahbless
Nigeria it is time to let real music, true talent come through. This guy is not the new Dbanj, he is in a whole new league.
Bueka is a very handsome, and talented Nigerian musician based in London with Global appeal. Having already performed internationally on several major West end and broadway productions right across europe and the USA. He has even sang for the Queen of England at the 2009 Royal Ascot Race course. Where to the surprise of everyone he sang a song by the great legend himself FELA.
Proud to be Nigerian, Bueka along with RMG members King David and Mo-eazy wish to bring about changes to the general negative stereotypes usually accustomed to being Nigerian.
This was proving with his recent 6 figure endorsement deal with british clothing brand Gordon Bennett. As the international face of their clothing brand.

Bueka has been nominated for the O2 African music awards 2010 AM unsigned competition.
So come on Nigeria lets all rally behind a true African talent and support him, by voting for him to win.
I believe Afro beat is on the verge of real acknowledgement by the world, but all this nonsense Dbanj and crew are doing now is just taking us backwards.
Please do not get me wrong, I think Dbanj is very talented, but from what we are starting to here from his recent music, it’s obvious he is trying to appeal beyond the Naija music scene. I don’t think he can do it to the scale of an Akon for example, but you keep watching this space as RMG comes through the Naija scene taking the heads of all the current bosses.
Check out Bueka’s debut music video on youtube here is the link.

opinions are like asses, evry1 is got one…..so i go yarnn my own
As callous & downright mean as this may sound, music has left D’banj, he’s jst tryna kip but its gettin worse but he is just an enigma, wily, indefatigable, incorrigible, inimitable character. He is one of such people that you detest so much that it graduates into fondness….
Personally,iv got to be reali high(Mary J/Coke/Asiama) to even dance to dis in da club( but ofcos dat will neva happen)
shout to Don J BTW..save some gud beats fr som good singers abeg…
gBaGauN!!!
Ok personally i like Dbanj but this song didnt start off great at all by the middle it kinda settle into itself but it could take some more work for the finishing product.
Wetin be this? O ga ooo. What has D’banj been smoking?
Na real waaaa for this song. I’m sooooo confused now!
Those who are either too confused with the direction of this music or are unable to experience the creative artistry that is at work here are those who are afraid to sample something new and will rather stick to what they already are used to hearing. I give kudos to Mohits records for daring to experiment with new directions that will eventually catch on so much that those criticizing today will eventually get hooked and dance to this new vibrant beat from D’banj the enigmatic koko master. Donjazzy undeniably as futuristic as his magic touch is, cant go wrong on this and we certainly have a hit in our hands but as usual not every one will see it coming cos one man’s meat is another man’s poison.
this just isnt it…………………………….
Well , the song is just there but i dnt think its a dbanj kinda song , but its nice he tried exploring newer grounds though. But i believe he has more in him than this .
d bang i dey feel you, carry dey go we do this for ourself to hell with them haters ochei!
Dbanj, I hope say you dey read this comments. Please take a break and come back hard, we need more heavy something like you gave us with ya last album. Brosie.. abeg ooo.
This is one of the worst songs I have ever heard in my life, no exception. This is sooooooo bad!
The song is a bit weird especially …the beginnig part …..dnt knw what was goin on there !
Lol @ Atunbi…time is running out and Dbang or whatever he is called just want to rinse out before he is expires….naija music industry has 80% wackos and 20% talent. endoff!
I love the song and those who don’t like it have a right to love what they choose to like. We all cant love the same stuff. Those critcizing as if they hold the keys to endorsing what should be acceptable or not should go and release their own albums and lets see how great it may be. You can’t please the world. Even the worse of artistes still have their core fans who are pleased in what they have on offer. Ride on D’banj !!!!! You rock and are still my number one any day !!! God bless.
NO way!…like inians will say Nahi!…. PLEASE..! DBANJ! STOP IT…..
