In what has become a yearly holiday staple, Ovation Magazine began celebrating the Christmas season with a major event tagged the “Ovation Red Carol” a few years ago.
The event which raises funds for charitable causes is a blend of music, fashion, comedy and ‘giving back’. To support the event, a song is released featuring a number of artistes from various genres.
This year, Ovation has made some changes to keep things fresh!

Recently, the Publisher of OVATION International, Bashorun Dele Momodu announced that in celebration of Nigeria’s Golden Jubilee and in support of the global cause for environmental protection, the annual OVATION Red Carol goes green this December; hence the OVATION Green Carol!
In this explosive OVATION All-Stars collaboration of mainstream and upcoming acts, Jon Ogah, Waje, Mo’Cheddah, General Pype, ChiDynma, Malaika Tiwa Savage, Oldsqul, Freeze, Femi Adeyinka, Edikim and Hakym team up under the production of veteran producer OJB Jezreel to sing a new Christmas melody. “Christmas is Green” they sing as the world gives a standing ovation to the King of Kings this December. No doubt, this is one song that comes as a big plus to the excitement and festivities that come with the Christmas season.

Its ChiDynma that started the song and sings the you kno that its green part. Tiwa says her name on the part she sang… Beautiful songs… the ladies came strong

I believe I like Christmas in lagos better, this just kip repeating “u know that it is green” really!!!!!!!!!! it Christmas, make a correlation between Nigeria and Christmas, and nt u kno that is green, wat is green..the carpet, the lights or the occasion…I believe it fell flat, loved the first better….
And b4 pple say I am hating bcos some peeps on BN have that tendency to…..I totally each and everyone of the artist most especially Tiwa cos she is my home girl but I feel the song should have gone bk to the studio, probably one more time

I don’t even know how I feel about the song…definitely good stuff in there, but there was so much stuff. I know what I’m sure of though…the chorus was whack. Why the hell do I have to keep hearing it’s green…without the press release, I for dey think say green stands for ganja.
