    • HRH February 4, 2011 at 11:23 AM

Lots of classy looking guests here; a rarity on this site.

Ene and Ono stole the show. I’m guessing Ene’s dress is Bridget Awosika? Ono’s looks like Erdem but I’m not sure. Deola looks nice. Restraint looks fresh on her.

    • faith February 4, 2011 at 11:39 AM

everyone looks beautiful…remove ono and funke’s neck costumes n dey ll look good too…

    • True Talk always February 4, 2011 at 11:47 AM

Ene’s dress is aqua couture not bridget awosika I think. People looking fab.

      • foluso February 4, 2011 at 3:48 PM

Oh ok was wondering too because it sort of reminds me of the pink drape dress toni tones was wearing at the future awards that I loveddd. I love this ene’s dress too and I think I might have seen something similar at leila fowlwer? Not sure o! Is Bridget Awosika being sold at leila fowler? I hope so!! Needs to be more accessible by now!

    • Ifeyina February 4, 2011 at 12:13 PM

Genevive looks nice. Ene lawani nwa Benue state; they look good— benue chicks. funmi omotayo = lola omotayo’s relative? jania ochonogor = theodora ochonogor’s relative? Jennifer obayuwana looks good— she isn’t wearing so many accessories…. ruth osime has gained weight in her legs area, she looks good… Nice pictures…

Some nigerians, know how to live the good life…for real :)

    • Lil miss sunshine February 4, 2011 at 12:16 PM

Looks like the event was a success. Not too crowded, the right mix of well dressed people, beautiful watches on display.

      • CC February 4, 2011 at 3:27 PM

Tom Iseghohi’s wife. He was the former head of Transcorp. Now he’s being harassed by EFCC. She is also a former beauty queen, I forget her maiden name

Very Nice one here! The photos are really clean. I think everyone looked good for the most part!

    • Fatima February 4, 2011 at 7:35 PM

More events need to be like this, invitation only. Notice how everyone seems to be following the same dress code. Not events where some would wear evening gown others would wear jeans. Good look from everybody. Everyone looks classy.

    • Blossom February 4, 2011 at 8:44 PM

I think Deola Sagoe looks amazing! Really! The lady’s 43!

    • Nne February 4, 2011 at 9:12 PM

I guess Naija people only care about wearing clothes! This is supposed to be a “luxury” event. Sorry, this is not a “luxury” space. Naija people really need to step up the building/architecture/interior design game and create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing. Infrastruce is horrendous in Nigeria even in the high brow places! We are not even close to South Africa in that regard, not to talk of the West.

      • Kechi February 4, 2011 at 11:43 PM

Nne, I do not get your ‘points,’ what is your issue? Naija people, and how they care ‘only’ about wearing clothes? interior design? Architecture? “Infrastruce?” or infrastructure?!…not close to S.A/ the West……? I am confused, what exactly do you mean…lol!!!

        • Nne February 5, 2011 at 5:12 AM

My point exactly…you wouldn’t get it because many naija people don’t even see or appreciate the problem and are unwilling to raise the bar and standards where it is so obvious. This is a so-called luxury event but it is not reflected in the space it is being held at. It’s a very simple concept. The guy is launching a LUXURY western brand in this kind of space….it can’t always be about the clothes you wear and red carpet!

        • Feyi February 5, 2011 at 11:13 AM

Nne, the event wasn’t about clothes. It was about watches. Every month, brands invite some of their clients to smooze. It was an after-work cocktail. They didn’t launch Rolex they launched a Rolex repair centre. They didn’t call the press either

    • Miss Face February 4, 2011 at 10:55 PM

neat, classy and sophisticated event .i think genny’s and lanre da silva’s outfits were simple, clean and just right for the occassion, as for the comment on our infrastructure and interior design, u are on point! if only the venues and spaces used for these glam events would look half as good……….. but meanwhile, lets just enjoy the fashion.

    • Miss Face February 4, 2011 at 10:59 PM

sorry, i meant if only the venues and spaces used for these glam events would look half as good as the clothes and accessories worn to such events………..

    • Miss Thang February 5, 2011 at 12:20 AM

Be realistic! All events can not be like this! What is the percentage of educated and rich people in Nigeria anyway? You people are unreal… its like expecting every event in the UK to be like the Ascot! Is that possibe? So what will the yobs and the middle class and lower class do? Nigerians! There is no pleasing you is there? Im sure many of the people commenting live in houses the same size as match boxes! architecture/interior design my ass! Ptcheew! Please razz is the new cool, you dig?

      • Nne February 5, 2011 at 5:18 AM

Right…and if LVMH brought a retailing environment like Sephora to naija tomorrow, you would be the first one in line, abi? Or, are you one of those who likes to go abroad but when it comes to upgrading the look and feel of Nigeria it doesn’t matter because everyone is uneducated and poor and don’t deserve a better environment that many of the naija people commenting here LOVE to indulge in when they are abroad. What % of people in many developing countries are rich? Very few, but it doesn’t stop people in those countries from creating pleasant, visual pleasing buildings and spaces. It’s nice to see people in Naija can dress up, but please we are in the 21st century…we need to progress faster!

      • Nne February 5, 2011 at 5:31 AM

I agree, not every event in Nigeria needs to be in a premium, luxury space – I totally understand market segmentation. But, I thought Rolex was a luxury brand, no? My general point is that the environment in Nigeria across the board needs upgrading – it’s not a rich/poor, educated/not educated issue. We spend so much on clothes, that’s it!

      • Miss Face February 5, 2011 at 10:08 PM

And miss thang, the comment about people commenting here probably living in matchboxes was both hurtful and totally un-called for. pls lets be civil here, i dont see what that has to do with glamorous social events or nne’s observation which i find honest.wats wrong with upping our game a little?

    • Laura February 5, 2011 at 12:47 AM

The event to launch the Rolex after sales service centre, small and intimate,I had fun

    • mary007 February 5, 2011 at 2:40 AM

      Beautiful people, hmmmmm

    • mary007 February 5, 2011 at 4:10 AM
    • allen February 5, 2011 at 5:13 AM

honestly? i find this event pointless.

    • Miss Prada February 5, 2011 at 5:19 AM

Zara’s Bridget Awosika pleated skirt is gorgeous! looks great…

      • forrealtho! February 8, 2011 at 9:06 AM

Zara Okpara? Bridget Awosika? Really? I thought she was was wearing something from LDA’s line!

    • Nne February 5, 2011 at 5:38 AM

Lastly, BellaNaija site is an example of something that is cutting-edge online “space” with visual appeal. Just because according to you razz is the new cool and we shouldn’t bother because people are poor and uneducated, it’s nice to see that the people behind things like Bella, Arise, etc are raising the bar for how we present and package things to our consumers.

      • Miss Face February 5, 2011 at 10:02 PM

Nne, like i said earlier on, you-are-on-point, fuullll stop! the sista talking about the west being a yardstick and all, are red-carpet events and designer couture an african concept?i do not think so but we r doing it today. i totally agree wt nne 100%.Please lets move nigeria forward people.

    • Miss Thang February 5, 2011 at 2:03 PM

      Nne

My dear you are missing the whole point! Who says we shouldnt ‘raise’ the bar? But expecting EVERY event in Naija to be like this and look like this is unrealistic. We are not in the Stepford wives’ town! How boring we would all be and look if we walk around in Nigeria and everyone looked like this. Even the Creator in His Infinite wisdom knew and created us as individuals with our different senses of style; some wacky, some staid, some sporty etc… thats why a person like a Helen DeGeneres or a Whoopi Goldberg can wear sneakers underneath her ball gown (if at all you can get either of them to wear one!)Expecting Nigeria to look like the West is not going to happen. And why should it happen? Why should the West be my yardstick? Its truly different strokes for different folks. Osondi Owendi!

      • THE AMAKA February 5, 2011 at 6:07 PM

some people will soon say you are “bad belle” or a “hater” and do not wish for Nigeria’s development. lol
but i get your point sha…

      • Sia February 5, 2011 at 11:01 PM

My dear, it’s “Ellen” DeGeneres–> not “Helen”. Great point though.

    • Sia February 5, 2011 at 10:58 PM

You know you aint – in the Lagos fashion industry if you were not invited to this event and some other luxury private events.

    • M February 6, 2011 at 12:19 AM

Looks like d memo for this event was on d pinstripe lane…very office feel-ly except a few but I have to say fabulous!

      Genevieve – stunning
      LDA – sweet…very vintage gorg
Jania – fitting of dat dress is 2Dy4..off d chain

    • Dee February 6, 2011 at 2:02 PM

Wow! To have a Rolex shop in NIgeria is pretty impressive, don’t understand y certain people are complaining bout the interior its a store! My advice would be ” go and buy d product first and then u can talk” don’t kill someone else’s dream wiv unnecessary criticism.
I am proud of this new accomplishment.
Zara Okpar is my fav, she’s serious(sylish),Eku Edewor
Looks nice too but Deola Sagoe Uh la la, gorgeous dress.

      • Titi February 6, 2011 at 9:27 PM

No offense actually I really don’t care if you take offense. Who cares about Rolex store, when you have bad roads, useless hospitals, and inadequate education. What achievement is a Rolex store? The white man who created ROlex, didn’t he make sure he had basic necessities before he went after luxuries. Nice event with beautiful people but this is no achievement.

    • Toriola February 6, 2011 at 10:13 PM

ok, those who can truly afford a rolex (no not the $6k rolex, i mean the $40K rolex) would most likely buy from overseas…so the point of this store again?

    • say it as it is February 7, 2011 at 9:51 AM

I agree with you Nne.I wish we’d step up in interior design & finishing of buildings/office spaces in Nigeria. If only we have a few office spaces with state of the art finishing,i’m sure it would inspire others to focus on the finer details and not just on setting up a “space ” to work in.I believe we will get there soon as we seem to be moving forward in other areas.
      Nice event though!

    • jezz February 7, 2011 at 9:55 AM

Genny’s dress sense is becoming so boring. Even before I saw her pic, I predicted it would be a black short gown. She should try experment with other colours abeg it’s not like she’s light-skinned. Make nobody swallow me o am just expressing myself

      • THE AMAKA February 7, 2011 at 3:01 PM

and what does color have to do with anything? you can’t just start making wild comments like that.
        elaborate….

    • seun February 7, 2011 at 2:44 PM

where are there staff’s pictures, were they not invited?most of these pictures are celebrities, where are the rest of the guest.

    • Boobie February 7, 2011 at 7:41 PM

YAY! The blue shoes turned out FABOOSH!! Looking Good doll! See! You allowed the jacket and the accessories do the work!! That Jacket is still calling me!:-).
You looked lovely Jennifer. Glad it turned out A-ok!:-)

    • Ola February 7, 2011 at 8:57 PM

      everyone looked nice but Jennifer!!

      • Ola February 7, 2011 at 9:00 PM

May i add Ruth Osime & Latasha

    • Ola February 7, 2011 at 8:59 PM

Since it was a week day, i am guessing most people were coming from work..hence, the simple, classy styles

    • Barby0 February 7, 2011 at 9:43 PM

Boring how??? Is she dressing up to entertain you?? See wahala o! The girl has worn what she likes and is comfortable in.. not to mention compliments her skin tone ( half cast or not) and you talk like her dress sense used to be GAGA-ish before now. I understand you don’t want to compliment her like the rest for the sake of uniqueness, but if you have nothing sensibly constructive to critize about then don’t bother at all. Sheesh!!

I love Deola sagoe’s dress by the way. Black is indeed beautiful.

    • Barby0 February 7, 2011 at 9:46 PM

      In response to Jezz

    • Atinuke February 8, 2011 at 4:00 PM

      Deola Sagoe……..NO! No! No! No!

    • hauwa February 14, 2011 at 5:49 PM

Agree with a lot of posters… seeing an pictures on BN, of event with nice simple classy non-garishly dressed guests, is a rarity! Love BN for when I get homesick, btw…
Correction – Polo (the company) has been in Naija for donkey years- certainly not less than 18yrs, so there is certainly a market.
On the venue.. i agree they could have done better for the whole backdrop for such a classy event, I can even see litter (ugh!), plastic bag on the floor.
DS’ outfit is nice 4 the event, but am I the only one who thinks it looks a bit tight on the bust.
Overall nice event.. naija – we live in hope :-)!!

    • Papi February 26, 2011 at 7:23 PM

People look great. But that watch shop is just extortionist. I mean was there 2 years ago and couldn’t even believe how much their most basic pieces cost. felt like a robber with a gun on me!

    • jimmy peter December 20, 2011 at 11:17 PM
