Wohooo !
…btw, didn’t some people hear the “African inspired” bit…?
I LOVE FASHION !
sameeeeeeee!
Fashion Police should slam! some people. Can definitely see some ‘best’ and ‘worst’ dressed there!
NICE!!!!
Muah. LovEly.
P.s.
1st!!!
first to comment..yayyyy… nice one bella
oooOOoops!
NOPE, TRY AGAIN!
ȋ̝̊̅ love the pants the colored lady wore in d last picture.
Hmmmm.
ȋ̝̊̅ want. ȋ̝̊̅ so want. ȋ̝̊̅ so so want.
Baggy iz slowly coming back.
Colored lady???!!
Colored lady? What the deuce? Was that an unintended error or a malfunction of your keyboard?
Coloured lady ke? I had to go back to see who it was. Do you know what coloured means? lol SMH
I added you as a link on my blog so that you can give my readers the latest from Lagos.
But ȋ̝̊̅ was first oh.
Seems bellA has stopped posting first sef.
Ehn hen, ȋ̝̊̅ noticeD Ʊ added more pictures after my last post.
Now people will say no colored lady in d last pix. *sobs*
But all d same. Please post my comments oh.
It’s not about the picture sequence dear, its about the term ‘colored’. So, so, so not right.
darling Omogekofo: Using the term coloured lady is a maja NO! NO! You see myy dear, they will call you racist for using that word. Use the term asian, caucasian, african american, whichever applies….
em…excuse you, African Americans refer to themselves as people of color!
yhello, thanks for helping me out. didn’t know how to start explaining myself.
we are people of color.
Omogekofo, yes we are people of colour but it is so wrong to use the term “coloured lady” just as it is wrong to use the term “ni**er”. This is because “coloured” dates back to the segregation years in America when “coloured” was used to describe African Americans. It brings back memories of those terrible years that’s why it is a big no no to use that term. BTW, isn’t white a colour too? So why not refer to the caucasians as coloured??? It is just amazing that in this day and age there are still people who are still so ignorant about these things. We really need to educate ourselves.
seriously *calf boots* in dat naija hot weather…na wah oh chicks
u know i was wondering the same thing, i also wonder about cardigans in that heat
cardigans/sweaters are very much. the one i saw looks light, people wear agbada and suits regardless of the heat so a cardigan is more than acceptable
Mbanu, if you were in Lagos on Saturday, you know that calf boots and cardigans (no matter how light) were out of the question. It was SWELTERING hot, surprised I didn’t see any naked (or more weather appropriate ) outfits on the red carpet
And sasha thought it was a good idea to leave the house in those pants…seriously
yeah she didnt get t right here wt the pants….think i prefer her n her african outfits:-(
Was going to write a first comment but I will restrain myself. Lol. Almost everyone represented fashion. HOTNESS. Can`t believe i`m missing out on this. Thanks for the pics Bella
.
I can’t believe some of the things people are wearing in this heat. Also, is Tiwa losing weight??
i noticed too. she looks sooo skinny
nice
mmmm.. I see some Ghana Invasion.. ;;)
furry pants, apoche and low cut v-neck guy tees are NOT cool…at all
the green dress on the lady carrying the pink hermes bag is quite lovely
its not heremes. its prada. get it right, hun!
which one is heremes again o
are you having a laugh or something. Trying to achieve a vintage look, not working!
african fashion styles.. right?
very nice..
Ok where’s the Amaka the comment police LOL? The Amaka someone made a booboo….. Back to the event, pictures are nice though some looked crazy.
That boy wearing LV belt STAYS doing the MOST! how did you walk out of the house thinking a deep v neck fits with how you tucked it in ? Inside skinny jeans kwa? na real wa!
That lady with high waisted baggy jeans and a satchel bag killed it! Tres fab!
nice anon but how do u want us to see ,admire and even bow down to his LV belt eh?
lol
Umm how comes the names of the guests are not attached to the photos?
Really nice pictures!!! Tiwa Savage needs 2 stop oppressing us with her legs. lol
http://diths-haute-spot.blogspot.com
You know….there are some questionable choices of attire here, but that’s what fashion week is about, no matter what part of the world we’re in.
Boring guests at the Arise event! Where are the stars?
Erm how is Tiwa Savage boring,Gene ,Alex Amosu, Teme B. or Becky Garton etc they are not boring. If you dont even know who these people are , omo your on a dulling p!
Some of the outfits are hmmm others like Tiwa rocked it, Becky Garton wearing Re Bahia looks lovely, Teme’s look is effortless not forced.
You forgot my fine bobo Lynxxx!! He’s lookinf fab as always!
how did that girl win mbgn, wher r d fine gals ehhnnn see wat nigeria is producing now.
The girl is pretty now….aaahh
Errr… No. MBGN? Think again! That girl looks like a madam.
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuu!!!
Ore mi….I was just thinking the same thing o!..But i didnt wanna say wat was on mind mind b4 Amaka the comment police give me serious warning!..loooooooool
Tiwa savage was hot all the way.Everyone looked good as well.Love Yvonne’s boots…!
not impressed. no originality and loads of faux pas.
Wow…lovely. I’m loving the ‘adire’ dress the lady in the blonde weave is wearing.
Tiwa is one blazing chick.. No Homo but dem legs, eyes teeth and boobs jeezz!!! BTW, the Guy with that hairdo.. Seriously!!! The Amosu guy!!!! Uhh mazing.
Tiwa Savage is rocking Toju Foyeh
Genny looks cute…Jecintha Powelle….sometimes i ask what is her purpose?
there is a cute guy from the added photos. one has on black slacks with a white collard shirt with a black vest and black tie on top. the other is the guy with the dreads.
Fiona Amuzie would have worked if she changd her hair. the lace front just doesn’t suit her.
and I’ve never seen anything fly about Dimeji Alara’s style. its so “BLAH” to me and the same old thing.
both hits and missess. Tiwa stood out in a very positive way. Genevive would have stood out too but not feeling that hair
A lot of these ladies and gentlemen look fab. But a few seem to be trying to hard, which makes them look ridiculous. But that’s just me
what was that boy with mohawk wearing………. OH WHAT A LOVELY BLOUSE VERY PRETTY BOY
lol!!!!!!!
Hahaha ” the amaka” ur just a joke
Hmm, what can I say, Naija, a lot of fashion victims on the red carpet!
Eko for show! My people NEVER disappoint! lol
Aah noooo Toriola Genny’s hair was very nice oh! Her bangs obviously shifted in this photo. I even told her it was the best I had seen on her. You should see the pix I took with her, she’s truly beautiful in and out. I will never listen to bad belle people again. the girl is more down to earth than regular people. Another person that looked great was Omawunmi? Wr is her foto?
PS—- Bella can I send you the picture plssss??? Well mostly to get my 2mins of fame heeheee
BRB
Wow, many hits and misses. Nigerian’s still have a long way to go in terms of their dressing!
Helen Jennings is wearing Stella McCartney to an AFRICAN fashion event–that’s a no no. Way to (not) support African designers, Helen.
Genevieve looks great! That skirt and top matched with the Loubs are on point!
There are more badly dressed than well dressed people on this red carpet. Bella, pls be more selective in the future.
eninne chinkata looks gorg.
wow this was one of the best fashion week the world has ever experienced yes there were hiccups here and there but errrm na fire as soon as show just start TINNIE TEMPAH was just awesome and so was ESTELLE 90% TO THE TEAM AT ARISE
Please where can I buy/get dress number three, photo number three? Advise please, thanks much. Nice photos. Not bad at all. Everyone did a good job dressing up.
Am i the only one that saw the chic with trainers/sneakers under her ankara dress???
Whao! Just saw another photo/dress just like number three. Must be the same designer. Do you think I could order it if the designer has an already established website? Because I no dey naija and it would really suck for me if there’s none.
Genny’s beautiful, those louboutin shoes just did it for me!
@chiangel designer’s name is Ituen Basi. Bella should be able to direct you to her site. I missed the fashion week so i wont say much but Nigerians need to remember the people who attend fashion week are as much part of the runway as the models. Dress to fit the part. You don’t wear stay at home clothes to go see couture.
I’m seeing some interesting purses/handbags here…i WANT!
the last pic is gorg! the girl on the right of omawumni looks just like agbani, like i had to check if she was her twin!
the last pic is FAB! the lady on the left looks just like Agbani! HOTTT!
jisos..those boots in that naija heat?
the last picture makes me aspire to being beautiful when i grow up
I’m seeing double!!!!…Agbani Darego has been cloned! There are TWO of her! wow!!!!!! science!!!
ah ah agbani has a twin oo nawa oo i was trying to figure out who agbani is between both of them but im guessing she is the one on green…rite??
Is that agbani younger sister or twin sister or what???? interesting pics all round with nice fashion….
Hits and misses again. To many wacky things called fashion and worn with the wrong kind of shoes. I like Genny’s outfit.
When BellaNaija is involved you just gotta love it! Loving Fashion!
the fashion conscious naija women, i think most people went overboard! A lot of women do not understand the word SIMPLICITY, CLASS, AND STYLE when it comes to gracing the red carpet, LESS IS MORE, i’m totally disappointed in sasha, dolapo oni and a bunch of others, some of them do not even look comfortable, comfort is key, we always try to out do each other at events that is why we end up with such overdone pieces, look at princess muka and nina, whats all that ? some of them i dont know their names, …aaaargh, a friend of mine told me how she was going to knock em out at this even t and looking at the pictures, i think she shot herself on the foot, looking trashy, clumsy and confused, only a few got it right, i could hardly see sophistication! *sigh*
and please can someone please stop fiona, the current MBGN from using a lace wig ! plus her new choice of hair colour, one word TACKY! there are soooo many weaves she can use to make her look younger , fresh and most especially her age. thanks
concur…i don’t mind her wearing whatever she pleases, but at least lose the dang MGBN warning label abi na tag we go call am and stop disgracing us.
i think all those women that need to tone up their legs should look to Tiwa Savage for inspiration. her legs are NICE, toned, and in shape.
LOL @ Agbani Darego has been cloned. The lady in the gold dress is Tanzanian Model Millen. Agbani looking Hottt in that green dress!! Does she age?!
Oh i see the fabulous Elizabeth R team managed this event. super thumbs up!
The comment section for me is the most interesting part of bellanaija. I enjoy reading all una comments so much. good doose for laughter.
loads and loads of fashion faux pas! Most are trying too hard to be fashion forward, and then making big fashion blunders! Where is Joan Rivers! she needs to see these fashion offenders. lol! all in all good album. THUMBS UP BELLA!
That was my question abt Agbani….Love her by the way…But am I seeing double or does she have a sister?
Boots and leather in Nigeriam weather? #icant
Tiwa looked simple and fab!
Agbani and the two ladies looked great! #theend
it just comes 2 show dat we naija rock and we do a dem gud job@it!!!lovely ladied dapper men all flaunting dere stuff it just like a miracle in fashion 4 Nigeria thank u ARISE FASHION 4 bring it home.
