Nice Pics
BN please can u get a good photog or at least someone that can touch up the picture after, cos the lighting is really bad in some of the pictures.
Una dey pay Bella?
Yes o! Our hits count big time. You don’t get it now do you?
some of the pictures are not just working….but they look good anyways
Bella,
I wonder why you posted some of the images I saw here cos most of them are nowhere near fashionable. The images certainly didn`t do much for the quality of the show.
I reckon it an over hyped thisday show as usual. When you charge money for shows thats what u get.
Fashions shows should be strictly on invite and thats the only way u will attract only fashionable pple
You deserve a bottle of cold beer for this comment. This was less about showcasing African fashion and just another way of making money. If this was a quality fashion show most of these people should not have been allowed in the building. Who cares who walked the red carpet, who are these people? Where are the designers , models isn’t this who the show is about. The audience should have been filled with fashion journalists, magazine editors, and stylists. Maybe then the red carpet would have been more enjoyable. If these people are representative of the Nigerian fashion industry well there really isn’t much to look forward to.
YOU ARE SO ON POINT!
Alex Amosu is on the red carpert. Designer and multi millonaire not an extra google him baby. Not every one on the red carpet is an extra so get it right.
You are so right, but maybe there will be a backstage or insider photo edition of the show
I disagree, I may not be a top fashion aficionado so I may be unaware of what documenting a fashion week entails but I’ve always enjoyed looking at the street style photos of guests taken during New York Fashion Week on New York Times.
Also, I think that it’s good that we are not following the western media methods and doing things our own way because this is what works for us (now if only we carry this thinking into politics and other spheres of naija life in general, maybe there will be marked progress…)
well i was there all through the week and trust me kudos to nigerians who have redefined fashion n style…obviously not everyone got it ryt but most attendees were on point n it was by invitation if u kd afford it…true talk tho
who is the tatted up cutie in the red shorts & wife beater?! Hot!
See my Lagos people coming strong with the fashion, as with any fashion event there will always be people that look like clowns…standard. Overall I’m impressed
http://www.that1960chick.com
fun and fabulousness! where are all the guys? more please, more!
eku…who’s a birdie?! I love that neck-piece.
Wow..i didnt want d pics to end..few misses as always expected..lol..overall..GBAM
How come 9ja babe still wear jeans to such an event….. Fashion police
fashion in its sense!!!!!Genny rocks!!!
I agree, Genny is HAWT!
least i forget, first to comment, the Amaka dont just come after me.Lolz
HAHAHAHAHA, TRY AGAIN!
Aaaaarrrrrghh! Somebody help me! What sort of therapy would i need to erase taofik okoya’s deep-cut blouse? What is wrong with this guy and which of his sisters’ wardrobe is he invading? What in the world is this? I kent take this anymore, no, no, no, i just kent!
LOL! I feel your pain my dear. As soon as I saw him that was the first thing that came to mind and he’s still not getting it right! Btw Okoya how u doin?
rofl….Hahahahhhaha! You need to see Sigmund Freud himself…hehehehe!
Mchew! I know I’m not First >:-(…It’ll be too good to be true. This event looks gish-gish o! E be like say I go attend on of these days. But mehn! I’m gonna need to wear something ghen-ghen o; incase I “mistakenly” appear on bellanaija.
**erase from my memory**
I love the lady in the polka dot dress, she stood out.
Definitely! She stood out indeed! Love the dress… She’s beautiful
Genny was looking …..weird. Well done everyone u guys are trying hard…
fanned. i tot i was d only one that noticed.
Love, love, love Sascha’s creativity…I guess she was one of the few who got the memo.
Na wa oo. Na anybody wey waka for red carpet nia dem dey take picture? Overall though some know what fashion is about others are just confused. Overall they tried and can do better.
forget the lil commas here and there ….dem try …fashion driven ppl on here ….seee legzzzzz
its paining me that i missed, but thanks for the pictures and updates
the ladies look gorgeous.. african or no african theme
for the first time in a long time, Genny disappoints me
there were some people that stood out to me.
the lady with the black dress and yellow pumps? NICE.
Yvonne Ekwere? YES! love it!
Omowunmi was alright, but i was def feeling the two girls below her.
another lady with a white shirt, grey skirt, blue pumps, and a beautiful necklace. her outfit simple but cute!
Eku Edewor, Dolapo Oni (looks very old here), Genny, Dimeji Alara (super boring), the guy below Chantelle, lady with the blue/artifical denim leggings, and the people wearing itty bitty shorts. NO NO NO! i feel day three is better than the previous days, but i still feel some people are trying too hard. na wa! its like “overkill!”
and i seriously believe some people should tone up on their legs. i didn’t say lose weight, i said tone up. tone up and change their diet or something. that would go a long way. so many out of shape legs here, even for the slim ones.
thanks bella for posting.. good to see few people taking good fashion to d next level….. dat guy on deep cut black and white top!!!! seriously!! i hope am not d only one SMH right now….in all, nice thou
can nigerian leave the androgynous look the hell alone. LEAVE IT ALONE!! FOR PETE’S SAKE,LEAVE IT BE!! THAT ISH AINT CUTE!! IT AINT CUTE!!
Thanks
Alexander Amosu wearing suede shoes with suit, really??? Loving Sasha’s look. I also like what the lady in the long stone-wash jeans with the orange jacket is wearing. I like how Genny didn’t play it safe this time. Omowunmi Akinnifesi is always on point.
A lot of peeps looking good. cool stuff
I love Gen’s Harem pants!! Really bold statement from her. A lot of the people here did good. Some raced with it.
Genny, pls get rid of that hair ASAP! I know the look you are going for but you totally missed it!
l dont like wht genny is puttin on….l knw d truth is bitter but l must say wht l saw..any way they all tried thxs bella..
Lovelywork Bella.I applaud, the effort and the return. On lighting, when you see shadow on the ground, it means the lighting was not as it should be(except when that’s the look), the way it it, the lighting took away from the pictures. As with indoors, the flash became too much and overcompensated. I’m sure it will be better next job.Nice work again:)
save for the awkward leg pose…genny looks so noiceeee! finally a photo of eku. we r missin aunty ruth tho. ojy is so pretty, she once came to my sec sch 2 c her younger sister… she had d whole school chasing after her (literally) jst 2 catch a glimpse. lol
Awon Nigeria won le gan!
everyone in my office is ohing and ahhing!
genny looks off here..i’d say lose d hair..its overwhelming on her skinny frame..
and sasha…well…sasha is sasha ….
It’s time we know the difference between being fashion forward and being tacky.
well well! ogonna umeruo looks hawwwtttt! and there is always something off about sasha..i cant just place that thing…
Im nt so impressed.they wer either dressed in skinny jeans, jumpsuits or short gowns.and who noticed that ankara jumpsuit?what was dat person thinking?
99% of people looked fab. i’m happy some people left their bathroom slippers at home, i ddnt get the memo that guys should start competing with girls for who wears the lowest cut v-neck and scooped necked blouses. as for genny and sasha…maybe i’m too conservative, so i shall keep my mouth shut on that. but all in all sha, most people look nice, african themed or not.
Jeggings galore. Less is more with regards to accessories.
No Tanya…..stand out accessories is sooooooooooooo in
Some people’s outfit stood out sha.
Gennys’ ……..??? i am not happy.
GENNY ROCK….I LUV UR OUTFIT
See my people ooo. The good, bad, ugly and what the cfku? fashion. Some sizzled and the others fizzled. I love how everyone had their own individual style though.
Wait o! Picture number three, I love that skirt. I made some comments in other fashion week posts regarding the designer. I think the same designer made this skirt too. Who is he/she? I need info on the designer please if anyone has it. Thanks much!
Ituen Basi – You can buy via http://www.myasho.com
Well, it was a fashion show and as was expected we’ve seen the wow, the tacky and d incredibly wack dressing!
dolapo oni nnnoooo it didnt translate well
The suede shoes on the guys are so unflattering.
Some nice, some just ok, some akisa collections! Good job bella!
Errm, excuse me, but did someone vomit ‘jumpsuit’ all over the red carpet or what na? I know it is in, but can the ladies puh-leez get a bit more creative?De ting no sweet again..eeish, y’all just took jumpsuits from über-trendy to vulgar for me!:’-(
someone here looks like she was getting ready for a great ‘atilogwu’ (traditional igbo dance). Another one ( a guy) looks like he was auditioning for the post of a bouncer, another one (a lady) wore ‘leftovers’ from her NYSC orientation camping days – all white. Asides a few misses, most look OK, a few look FAB and a small number just look clueless.
Hits and misses. Love the way the girl in all black with up hair do, dressed. Some good hits with plenty of misses. Naija women dey lose dress sense plenty.
I’m impressed with most outfits. Some people get the jist of the event.
Is that @ Yinka Jimoh in the second pic?
LOL! yep
Where is Ezinne Chinkatas pic? I see a few ppl in bows.. Reminds me of her style…..
Is that ruru?..after Lali Hart..loved those harem jumpsuits..the rock…my friends and i kept staring. Please who made them…i adore them..Beautiful……
Beautiful people. And for all of you saying that because some folks had a bad-dress-day they shouldn’t be allowed near the grounds … if you’re referencing western events, haven’t you heard of worst dressed call outs on some of those shows? Agreed, if we were copying the west completely, only strict invites would be issued. BUT we are being unique. Give the everyday people a chance to shine BIKO. After all wont you have wanted to be there?
okkkkk i see alot of jump suites ….some people need to learn to ‘dress for their body’ genny looks stylish and good rock on girl u look good !!!!..#justsaying
LAGOS NA WA
some of the shoes were off………..like really off
Really nice pictures…. but waje and Yvonne ekwere didn’t just turn up in that :/ :/ :/
Contrary to popular belief, BLACK DOES NOT GO WITH EVERYTHING!!!!!! i hate it when people ruin some totally good pieces with ugly black shoes and whatnot.People need to take more risks with colors without looking too risque…..lol
@”stand out accessories is sooooooooooooo in” i’ll complete the sentence for you….sooooooooo incredibly absurd when put on together and only serve to weigh down the outfit IMO. A chunky necklace for instance should be paired with more subtle pieces,it’s so not necessary to O.D.
Not impressesed atoll!
if anyfinn, i definitely aint wearing a jumpsuit when i go to nigeria!
1st of all wat is goin on here?? y all d negative comments….nigerians must always ‘hate’ on dere fellow nigerians! isnt it simpply clear 2 sum ppl dat alexandra amosu swag is so – sick! suede shoes is in fashion n its so unfortunate dt alot of ppl dont watch fashion tv or read fashion mags n dey still have d liver 2 b talking abou d fashion!lmfao alexandra amosu u shud get d best dressed u look fab dear!
please whats with the overflowing jeans, the lady withe red jacket was wearing, no no no!
some dressing here na die
ugonma omeruo? fo serious?
i really xpected more but some of them did well! btw dat is not yinka jimoh, yinka is in d uk. it does look like her tho
LMAO…..
the white woman wearing colour block (yelllow shirt, navy blue skirt and blue shoes) has this season’s trend bang on!!!! very Gucci! Ladies wear bright block colours with no prints this season!
nice
