Love’s New Chapter: Onyeka Odiegwu & Chima Anyaso Wed

Onyeka Odiegwu & Chima Anyaso‘s love story has a beautiful beginning. Onyeka was on holiday during her final year of university and decided to take on a holiday job at her friend’s clothing store. Chima’s office was close to the store, he came in to shop once and then suddenly began visiting frequently (now we know why!), they became friends and their love grew from that point on.
Chima knew within him that he had found his jewel – the one! In July 2010, Onyeka went on holiday to Dubai with her friends, on the third day of her trip, there was a knock on her hotel room door and there he was, her prince, Chima had secretly travelled to Dubai just to surprise her. He then whisked her off to dinner and then while they were looking across the night sky on the deck of the Burj Khalifa, he knelt down and said “See the world with me as my wife”; Onyeka said “Yes”…the rest is history.
On the 17th of December 2010, the couple completed their traditional wedding rites and on Saturday 3rd January 2011 at the Church of the Assumption in Ikoyi, Lagos – Onyeka & Chima’s marriage was blessed and solemnized in the presence of family and friends.
Onyeka was a vision of perfection in her stunning lace applique embellished silk and duchesse satin wedding dress by Kosibah. With its three-quarter sleeves, boat neckline, mermaid hem and chapel length train completed by her upswept hair and a lace mantilla, Onyeka’s romantic bridal look was princesseque and beautiful. Chima was dapper in his grey three-piece suit with a yellow boutonniere to match his bride’s bouquet.
The couple’s joy was simply contagious as they happily exchanged vows and committed to spending the rest of their lives together as one. From then on, it was all about relishing the moment and enjoying their day to the max. After the ceremony, Chima presented his wife with a gift symbolizing his “time” and dedication to her. Onyeka and Chima’s reception was fun-filled and exciting. A thoroughly happy and blessed day!

*gbam*… My mother had a similar design when she was getting married and this was in 1979, it was from India and it was very lovely. I think I’ll replicate the same design for my wedding.

Yemi has just helped me decide not be just a couturier, but a bridal one. He more than a monster!! Banke is phenomenal. The lesson I’m taking away from this BN wedding feature is “strive to be the best at your craft”. From Damilola Elliot the photog, to Uncle Tosan who made the cake and Lola Ashafa, who made the bridesmaids dresses, amazing talents abound in Nigeria!! I am soooooo inspired!
