Square Records Expands! – P-Square Signs Singer, MayD, To Label

Right on the heels of the release of their brand new singles, P-Square have unveiled their latest signing (and officially the first) to the Square Records imprint.
Hitherto, Square Records has been associated with Bracket and J. Martins; and contributed immensely to the visibility of the aforementioned. For the first time, they have officially signed an artiste to the label which has consisted of just themselves before now.
MayD has been bubbling under for a long minute; he can be recognised from his work Kel’s Too Fine, Show Dem Camp‘s Farabale
I smiled and then shrugged at 2’38″ of Cool Temper I’m guessing you probably would too.

Oh wow… I’m happy for the guy… He has a nice voice and did a really nice song ages ago called “Fo Mi Lori”… Curious to see what he’ll sound like now. (That Soundtrack song no make am sha).
Lol..yep. The first one was autotuned (seems like he loves his autotune), but I like it better than ‘Soundtrack’ & his singing on ‘Farabale’ ( I like SDC’s lyrics though).

Good vocal ability certainly, but the delivery on both songs were too safe in my view. MayD probably should’ve attempted some more difficult ranges.
Obvious but not-over-the-top Craig David influence is evident.
Neither song is a chart topper but if I was to choose, i’d say ‘Soundtrack’ peaks slightly above ‘Cool Temper’ and will make an ok club banger.

Exactly what I thought. I immediately noticed the Craig David’s influence in MayD’s style on first listening. Not too bad, though.
