ermm…people…you do know the clothing shown above are not ‘tunics’ right?? Tunics are loose-fitting garments, sleeved or sleeveless, extending to the KNEE…i dont see any in the pix reaching the knee. And those in the pix look more like caftan/kaftan. So im guessing TUNICS BY RURU is broad (includes tunics, caftan/kaftan) e.t.c
was thinking the same. i mean tunics r worn alone daringly or conservatively worn with leggings, jeggings etc. i tot this should be called bejeweled chiffon indian-like kaftans by ruru…lol but seriously they r fine!!!!! i’d love to have one. weldone Ruru

Nice.Thank you Lola for that totally unnecessary post.We all know what a tunic is.There is a Nigerian fashion house called ‘Jewel by Lisa’ and guess what?They makes clothes not jewellery.Ha.Maybe we should have them change the name to Maxi gown by Ruru or Boubou by Ruru,ryt?
In response to your ‘necessary’ post, as a matter of fact jewel by Lisa is not a good business name for an apparel business as it gives an impression of a jewelry line.

errrrrr, team ruru u r welcome. so been to the wiki page and the long form tunic is of the clergy/liturgical and from what i read the main tunic is the one just above the knee…anyways simple and short forget the name ur clothing is to die for period! i shall see how i can get one but my problem with naija designers is they price themselves off the market. bought a dress from a famous naija designer *name and brand withheld* and the material washed just the details where the only thing left. good luck ruru

I like the designs and they look lovely, it looks like a -return of the kaftan- not new but beautiful in its own right. Calling it a “tunic” seems like a marketing strategy to woo folks who like foreign-sounding stuff. Calling it a Kaftan would have worked just fine; let the beautiful designs speak for themselves.
