About The Nigerian Leadership Initiative (NLI)
The Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) is a platform for credible, accomplished and uniquely patriotic Nigerians to develop and express values-based leadership skills with the aim of assuming a transformative role in the continuous development of Nigeria.

Established in January 2006, we are an international non-profit, non-partisan organisation registered as a charity in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Through our Leadership Seminars, Symposia, Social Responsibility Projects, Essays and Business Plan Competitions, we are mobilising the energy, talent and resources of Nigerians worldwide to collectively tackle challenges that confront Nigeria.

Motivated by the vision of our founders and the necessity of nation-building, we are blending the lines between citizenry and leadership to enhance engagement, moving Nigerians from “Thought to Action…Success to Significance“.

History
The Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) was established in January 2006 by Mr. Segun Aganga, who was at the time an M.D at Goldman Sachs U.K, while our founding Patron is Dr. Christopher Kolade CON, former Nigerian High Commissioner to the U.K. Backed by an Advisory Board of distinguished individuals and corporate partners, the NLI has continuously encouraged emerging and established Nigerian leaders drawn from all parts of the world to take more responsibility for the future of Nigeria.

The NLI achieves its mission by organizing seminars for senior leaders and future leaders which produce a cadre of values-based community spirited leaders. Individuals from these seminars participate in NLI projects and/or execute a project of their choice through which they demonstrate their values. The projects must address a pressing need within the Nigerian society, have a discernible impact and be a reflection of the Fellows’ personal passions.

NLI October 2011
The next seminar is scheduled for October 27th – 29th at the Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park, Lekki, Lagos. NLI will cover all direct costs during the seminar including accommodation, feeding, seminar materials and travel (for those coming from out of the country or out of Lagos).

Each class is highly competitive and only 50 individuals are selected each year drawn from Nigeria and the Diaspora. Previous classes have drawn participants from Nigeria, United Kingdom, United States, Hong Kong, South Africa, Kenya and many other countries.
