Phunk Afrique presents “Nightingale” – View The Lookbook
Posted on Monday, August 15th, 2011 at 2:06 PMBy BellaNaija.com
BellaNaija was there when Nigerian fashion brand Phunk Afrique by Funke Ogunde hosted its customers to celebrate the launch of their latest collection.
Now we bring you the lookbook for Nightingale, the new collection. Colourful and bold, with the use of ankara, chiffon and lace, Phunk Afrique presents a collection in line with their feminine yet playful aesthetic. The collection’s lead piece, the nightingale dress, is a floaty floor-length floral print dress with lace sleeves.
From elegant dresses to the jacket with a peek-a-boo back and a wide-leg jumpsuit in line with the trend of the season, there is something for every woman in this collection.

lovely collections!!
Very simple and wearable.
Love the fabrics>>>
Boringgggggggggg
This look book is below par. Phunk Afrique has been known to do much better! They make some really wonderful pieces (Funke dresses so well, too!) and this look book doesn’t reflect that. Any look book worth doing is worth doing well. Also, the pieces don’t have anything Phunk Afrique about them. They’re all just so…flat. Saying this because I know Funke has it in her to do much, much better (I’ve seen proof) and it may be time for her to go back to the drawing board. Still love Phunk Afrique but I wouldn’t buy any of these pieces.
Hi I would like the designers contact details I have a business proposal
WELL DONE.PHUNK AFRIQUE.SEE MYSELF IN ALL
The designs are quite boring, we’ve seen them all before! Funke could do better.
Beautiful
I’m usually excited to see a Phunk Afrique lookbook but this is meh. I guess she was trying something different. Phunk Afrique still rocks in my book sha.
Also, would have been nice to see website and store address details. I know it may have been included in other posts about Phunk Afrique but it’d be helpful not have to go searching through the archives.
Updated with showroom address.

the prints are quite nice, beautiful one
nice!
Really nice clothes and fabric. Weldone Phunk Afrique
When will designers learn about having a cohesive collection. This is all over the shop~~ mehhhh
I totally love all the clothes and I see myself in them. Well done!!!!
Funke really? No oh this is not it at all? Why put it out if its not 100% representative of your brand? NO!
in love with d third ankara top…..av already copied it to give to my tailor…lol
Go PhunkAfrique!
just too bare ane ordinary
Really? Hmmmm!
Kai! I’ve seen better from Phunk Afrique. Ah ah! Her previous collection was fire! I’m disappointed but still a big fan!
Not bad at all. At least the clothes are wearable.
yawn
mediocre…i don’t get the hype of half of these lagos “designers”…na wa. all you need is 12-20 friends in lagos and you can start ur own clothing line, jewellry line, sandals lines, lacefront wig line..and boom you are a business woman
drooling over the designs
Funke I think you are doing a good job. Keep on keeping on!
nice but a little bit out of it.
I love the clean fluid lines and elegant simplicity! Lovely collection!
Omils!
IS THIS A JOKE??? THIS IS REALLY SPPOSE TO BE A ‘DESIGNER’COLLECTION??? OK. *SIGH
This is beyond horrible….so much for a “look book’. How dreadfully ordinary
I like what I see. These are everyday attires. I don’t think the intended effect was to WOW us, but to give us wearable designs. Some people have said this designer is known for better collections. In that case, my thoughts are that this “collection” is intended to be simple and VERY modest as it appears.
i love the dresses
I think Phunk Afrique should advertise good tailoring rather than design. If you go there and give them your style or have her style you then you’ll get a really good piece, but I’m not a fan of their off-the-rack stuff. This is awfully dull and haphazard, no central theme to the collection
Also, I know how much goes into photography and editing so I feel bad for saying this but these photographs are abysmal
the airbrushing is not just too much I can’t even figure out what technique was used.. No good
x
Ok I take back the central theme comment, I suppose the “florals” were supposed to do that justice
Is Funke a designer or just a lady who wants to make money out of making cloth?this is just too messy and way out of place to be called a “COLLECTION” my dear please give up because designing is not for you…….pls go to a fashion school or something you have a long way to go
u can do better wit d models…n d designs tooo. Total effect is kinda…damp
wearable n fabulous dresses
haba! re: credits, Omilola was not the only model na?!
