What Next…G650? D’banj adds the Aston Martin Vantage to his fleet | Jim Iyke shows off his muscles & 2 New Cars!

Dear up-and-coming star,

Congrats on your breakout hit and endorsements.
We know that you have seen recent photos of D’banj with his 2011 Aston Martin Vantage which reportedly cost over $200,000 and photos of Nigerian actor Jim Iyke showing off his muscles and his exotic cars.

This may tempt you to run to the nearest GTBank and withdraw all the funds you received from performing on the XYZ company’s tour and the pre-payment for your performance at their annual Christmas concert then run to the Coscharis to order the brand new Range Rover Evoque to ensure that you are the first star to “cop” one.

After all, once you place the photo as your BB profile pic, someone will leak it to the blogs and we will all know you are a bad guyz.

Sounds like a plan?

It’s a risky move though because you don’t know if your new track is going to be a hit and you may spend the next few months squatting in your girlfriend’s flat and everything goes downhill from there.

On second thought, maybe you should just got for it so we have something interesting to add to BN Bytes :)

On a serious note though, D’banj and Jim Iyke can do this because they both have solid investments in real estate, business and thriving careers.

Let’s keep working hard and focus on our priorities! Our time will come.

        • Yves October 31, 2011 at 7:57 PM

Whatever! I’m with Nneka on this one. Money can’t buy class.
He’s probably worked hard and can afford to splurge on cars. Good for him.
Doesn’t change the fact that flaunting it on twitter reeks of self esteem issues. Distasteful!

      • enny November 14, 2011 at 5:26 AM

        i totally agree with u

    • fokasibe October 31, 2011 at 3:06 PM

    • itk October 31, 2011 at 3:07 PM

Nice one!! Congrats D’banj and Jim Iyke. Don’t forget to help repair the roads too :) not that it concerns you – . Also $200k is the manufacturer suggested retail price – the car looks used and the model is in the range of 58-100k Used . Not that it matters to me jus saying – #One

      • teeno October 31, 2011 at 3:57 PM

lol @help repair the roads….seriosly, nice cars on bad roads not a gud idea…trekking on bad roads is even worse…lol…

      • Nkechi October 31, 2011 at 7:06 PM

        LMAOOOOOOO @ REPAIR road

      • Bajo November 2, 2011 at 3:17 AM

Itk you are right on the cost of the car, both guys have done well buying cars of this class.
The Aston Martin isn’t a 2011 model, journalists should be precise in their reports o! The chevy camro is a 2011 one. The plymouth I would say could come free bcos, it’s a dead car you would for sure want to get rid off “ask Ali baba”
As per roads, roads are actually fair enough in my area and also prime area these bros stay.

    • Tiki October 31, 2011 at 3:10 PM

I gotta admit, when i saw de caption i said to myslef ‘what, BN is an online tabloid now?’ but when I read the article which came with it, I like the spin it put on things…so yeah, I’ma say Congrats D’banj and Jim…hard work pays!

    • partyrider October 31, 2011 at 3:23 PM

what shall it profit a man if he spends so much on a car,and he cant enjoy it on the bad roads..and no i’m not hating, they work hard so they deserve to spoil themselves..
just saying that building of naija is a joint effort, if only they tarred only one street each full of potholes….#okbye

      • Whal October 31, 2011 at 5:30 PM

Dude are you serious?!!!!! When did it become a celebs duty to repair roads? Where is the Lagos State government? How can Nigerians be this ignorant?????!!!!!

        • anonymous November 1, 2011 at 1:18 PM

@Whal..that was a joke, don’t u have sense of humour? haaaa

    • Edson October 31, 2011 at 3:23 PM

    • partyrider October 31, 2011 at 3:25 PM

      nice cars

    • Say the truth October 31, 2011 at 3:31 PM

Jim Iyke has a penchant for buying rubbish cars. D’banj congrats on that beautiful car.

      • Whal October 31, 2011 at 5:34 PM

Camaro SS a rubbish car? Until you show your own, your ignorance needs to be “IGNORED”. I can’t believe poor people like you still have the mouth to speak.

        • Modella November 15, 2011 at 7:33 PM

          @Whal >>>bwuhahahahahhah!!!!!!!!!!!! i can’t stop laffing. You’re so on point mayne

    • k0a006 October 31, 2011 at 3:52 PM

foolish boys! Give something back to the society at least!!!

      • Purpleicious Babe October 31, 2011 at 11:41 PM

        loooool…..@ foolish boys…

I agree ohhh help the needy….

        • MISSY November 1, 2011 at 1:00 AM

ERM abeg you guys should hold it there! bikonu im all for giving back to the society but they are not obliged to do so! geez its their money and they can decide to spend it however they choose to! btw what is ur govt doing to help the needy or rather what are you doing to help the needy? you have the leverage to spend ur money however you choose to and they don’t? pls be real :P

        • Sassy November 1, 2011 at 5:05 AM

@ Missy true they have the right to spend the money has they deem fit, but what joy does it give them if they cannot make the larger society better? ‘Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country’. It is not government all the time, education is empowerment! Between these two they can make meaningful impact in educating at least 50 kids (make that a ripple snowball effect) and see how the larger society benefits. These so called celebrities should also learn some form of leadership and giving back!!!

    • fairangel October 31, 2011 at 3:54 PM

okay, so someone took the time out to climb on top of tree and take Jimmy’s picture?!

This is random but I read the caption as Jim Iyke – (minus) muscles + cars….hehehehe

      • partyrider October 31, 2011 at 4:42 PM

Lol @ climbing tree..its probably from the balcony :)

        • Ginika November 1, 2011 at 1:17 PM

Nope, Nope, Nope… after ‘kurrrrfully’ examining the pic, there are no balconies and this looks like town houses, hence similar designs. So na tree the persin climb.
          LOL:)

    • sett October 31, 2011 at 4:29 PM

i can just envision how pretty the ASton Martin Vantage will look crusiing thru the potholes in VI and floods in Lekki. hahhahahahha.

Mehnnnnn HATERS!!! Na wa oh!!! Dbanj n Jim congrats jare

    • Atokz October 31, 2011 at 4:51 PM

Errrm… they are not your government, neither have they claimed to run charities. Errm, keep your suggestions as to what a man should do with money he earned from the sweat of his brow to yourself.

Pay your taxes, elect people who will stop robbing you blind, do your bit to make your country better and get off your high horses cos someone chooses to spend HIS own money as he pleases!

      Thainzzz

      • mac October 31, 2011 at 5:26 PM

        GOD BLESS YOU!

        • Comfort October 31, 2011 at 11:32 PM

Wat is killing Nigerians is jealousy. Imagine Nneka sayng Jim Iyke is local, he is a nigerian like u but u cn neva appreciate dat. The money he used in buying those is his sweat, he didn’t stil it. Assume he stole it nigerians would av said a lot of thngs. Dbanj and Jim Iyke, u guys try, i gbadu una swag

    • chinny October 31, 2011 at 4:56 PM

      • Tokzie October 31, 2011 at 6:18 PM

Why are you so bitter? “interesting” is a subjective word. It’s their prerogative to put up whatever they deem appropriate for their site.

Tsk Tsk… Reduce the consumption of that vitriolic ‘jeeweez’ abeg!

        Thainz

    • dela October 31, 2011 at 5:13 PM

      Good for them oo

    • kiki23 October 31, 2011 at 5:26 PM

I really dont see why they should suddenly be laden with the repair of bad roads…why dont u save ur money and tar ur streets!!! Do u ask all the foreign stars to repair their roads each time they get a luxurious ride? do u know what other ways they give back to society Pls! Congrats to Jimmy n Dbanj…we will indeed get there.

    • laremmy October 31, 2011 at 5:35 PM

This is so hilarious…..so peopke cannot buy wot they please because some others are unfortunate*hiss

    • trish October 31, 2011 at 5:58 PM

@kiki tank YOU! Dey shuld save dier moni nd tar dier strt! Lol!!

    • Busayo Olupona October 31, 2011 at 6:05 PM

I think the reference to road repair actually makes sense. Sure stars in other countries are not being asked to tar their streets. But I have to say taking an Asto-martin down one of these horrendous lagos roads is idiocy, its terrible for the car and its unfortunately that Nigerians have continued to live with these road conditions for as long as i can remember at great cost.

    • bimbim October 31, 2011 at 6:10 PM

poverty striken people;pls y’all should get a life….y dnt u use ur good for nothing salary to fill d potholes infront of ur house instead of spending it on urself?hate not,so that God can bless u too.congrats guys!i will b greater than u guys someday.

    • Kay October 31, 2011 at 7:39 PM

How much are they worth, even Mikel Obi don’t own one….200k? You got to be kidding. How’re you gonna drive a car like that on a rickety road, those car are built for speed?

      • Bamboo November 2, 2011 at 10:29 PM

I understand DBANJ, but where and how did JIM IYKE get the money from??? How much are Nollywood actors paid??? I am not an an enemy of progress but I hope for their own good these guys are are not into something dodgy like, fraud, blood money, science, drugs… Naija young men these days are so so so desperate for flashy things. Or maybe the cars were rented!

    • lily October 31, 2011 at 8:05 PM

ok…enuf rubbish comments.first of all@Nneka, jim iyke is not a local boy, d boy has been living large so dnt hate d player.secondly….if u no get beta tin 2 talk…no come here dey tell celebs 2 repair road wen national budget always covers it and yet una no see d politicians 2 attack.thirdly@say the truth…no dey beef persons preference…d car jimmy buys no b ur business na his money….lastly wat is dis nonsense about vanity…dat dey spend money on luxury doesnt make u any beta than they are…u jst hating and wishn u had what they have…

    • Ronnie October 31, 2011 at 11:26 PM

U guyz are missing the point of this article! This seems like an indirect “dig” at a chocboy (iceP) who just bought a range rover! LOL.I hail o bella naija. Love it

      • BellaNaija.com November 1, 2011 at 11:46 AM

Hi Ronnie, this is definitely not a dig at Ice Prince. Ice Prince is a successful artist with several hit singles and a hit album, he can certainly afford a Range Rover and deserves to splurge after all the hard work he has put into his craft and career.

The article was just a tongue-in-cheek piece to encourage our BN fam not to be discouraged or swayed by societal pressure and keep striving.

But why are jim iykes legs so skinny!jeez!

    • B1 October 31, 2011 at 11:56 PM

Congrats DBanj n Jim Iyke. Lets alway wish others what we wish 4 ourselves. In my opinion, I feel these guys have worked hard n they deserve to reap the benefits of their years of hardwork. They’ve made themselves more competitive by reinventing and positioning themselves as enterpreneurs n businessmen. Whatever they choose to do with their money is their choice, at least they didnt ask anyone to contribute to purchase the cars. Lets learn to appreciate our own. These r young men that r doing us proud. No matter what anyone writes here it would not change d fact that they own these cars. C’mon ASTIN MARTIN. R u kidding me? How many have u seen in Lagos or Nigeria?

    • Chi November 1, 2011 at 2:24 AM
