Over 150 celebrities and captains of the Nigerian industry gathered on Thursday 10th November 2011 to share their appreciation towards Scotch whisky at the exclusive annual Johnnie Walker society event held at Ember Creek, Lagos.
The event was hosted by leading authority on Scotch whiskey and the Johnnie Walker Global Brand Ambassador, Thomas Jones who staged an exclusive whisky master class for his fellow Scotch whisky connoisseurs.
Thomas Jones traveled for the first time to Nigeria to host the evening and share his stories, experiences and intimate knowledge of Scotch whisky. During the evening, he inspired guests with the amazing history and heritage of the Johnnie Walker brand and shared with them his tips on how to enjoy their whisky to the full in a mentored tasting.
He further explained how each of the Johnnie Walker blends is crafted and matured to deliver the unique taste, characteristics and flavors and how only whisky that is produced in Scotland and within the stringent quality regulations of the Scotch whisky board, can truly be called Scotch.
Speaking at the event, Thomas said, “This is my first visit to Nigeria and I am delighted to have met so many enthusiastic whisky connoisseurs here this evening. One of the best parts of my job is having the opportunity to travel and meet whisky lovers around the world and share my knowledge and stories with them. Nigerian whisky lovers certainly do know all about the delights and craftsmanship of Scotch whisky and it has been a pleasure for me to be here and to share our experiences tonight.”
At the event, guests which included Olisa Adibua, Osaze Ebeku, Oona Priddy, Samson Siasia, Uche Jumbo, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Julie Odia, Noble Igwe, Mai Atafo to mention a few, also learnt more about the Johnnie Walker Walk With Giants Campaign.
