Whenever we hear the name Mildred Okwo associated with a movie, we just know we are in for a thrill! Mildred changed the game with her movie “30 Days” and now she is back with a brand new movie – “The Meeting“.

“The Meeting” has just wrapped filming and is now headed for post-production. Reading through the synopsis of the this movie and browsing through the on-set photos, we just know it will be a must-watch.

A Lagos-based corporate executive finds himself at the mercy of political patronage, bureaucratic red-tape and his tender heart when he embarks on a seemingly simple business trip to Abuja to secure a government contract.

“The Meeting” is a romantic-drama set mainly in Abuja. Lagos-based corporate executive Makinde Esho finds himself at the mercy of political patronage, bureaucratic red-tape and his tender heart when he embarks on a one day business trip to Abuja to secure a government contract.

Anyone who has done business in Nigeria especially in the public sector will be well-acquainted with the long delays in musky waiting rooms and in twists, turns and intrigues that are involved in securing a government contract.

The story behind the screenplay was by Tunde Babalola with the screenplay by Tunde Babalola and Mildred Okwo. “The Meeting” is produced by the Audrey Silva Company and is set for release in 2012. Nollywood star Rita Dominic makes her production debut as the co-producer along with Mildred Okwo who is also directing the movie.

The film boasts a star cast including Rita Dominic, Jide Kosoko, Basorge Tariah Jnr, Kate Henshaw, Nse Ikpe Etim, Chinedu Ikedieze and Chika Chukwu. A new crop of stars crossing over from the small screen are also part of “The Meeting” cast. Look out for Femi Jacobs (Tinsel), Linda Ejiofor (Tinsel) and Kehinde Bankole (Soul Sisters).
