BN Pick Your Fave is back and we have lots of goodies stocked up from the holiday season.
We kick things off with this floor length pink dress by Nigerian design label, House of Nwocha.
The dress has a sexy scooped back, dramatic train and black detailing around the neckline, sleeves and back. When this collection made its lookbook and runway debut, BN commenters wondered how it would translate on the red carpet, now you get to see if it worked or not!
As with many House of Nwocha pieces, this dress from the Zion collection enjoyed its red carpet debut when HON designer, Ugonna Omeruo rocked it at the Vanguard Allure Style Icon event. Ugonna usually goes for bold accessories but on this occasion, she kept her look simple with her braided hair accessorized with a dainty hair band. Her black clutch and sparkly blue sandals completed her look.
The 2011 Dynamix All Youth Awards took place in Lagos on the 18th of December 2011. Big Brother Amplifyd winner Karen Igho hosted the event. The dress code for the event was basically “short and tight!” but Karen did something different by choosing this piece. Her black chandelier earrings matched the black detailing of the dress while her half-braided side swept hair gave her look that youthful edge. Karen completed her look with a pair of platform pumps.

No question! Karen definitely rocked d dress better!!!! With her hour-glaSs figure showing off the beauty of the dress. She also have better fitted shoes for the dress unlike the other lady who is not form fitted enough 2 show off the dress n sheis wearibg the wrong shoes for that dress though her face is beautiful.

I think Karen’s curves were better but Ugonna looks prettier and accessorized less which is what this dress needed so I will go with her!

Both ladies look lovely; I love the way they styled their hair and they have great figures. Ugonna’s make up is on point. I love the detailing on the dress and it would’ve been nice if they wore it with the train and maybe even a little longer at the front, but I suppose it would have been dragging on the floor and they’d end up stepping on it as they walked so I guess they made the right decision. I wonder how the dress would have looked if it stopped just under the knee, it’s a beautiful dress whatever the length.

The dress would have been beautiful if not for the messed-up bottom half. I think that’s why it ended up looking a bit tacky. It should either have been a knee-length pencil dress or longer and a bit more “flowy”, a bit like the modelling shot.

Her hairstyle is edgy yet pretty, pose is sassy but cute. Just like the dress. I think these complement the dress, making the look appear more coordinated.
In addition, her colours are not all over the place, and thats cool because “less is more”. Ugonna
Ugonna on the other hand has a pretty face and lovely make up on – but the overall look does not appear to be as well put together…
