Vlisco presents “Silent Empire” – View the Ad Campaign Images & Video

It’s the first Vlisco collection of 2012 and we’ll love to know what you think about this one. For their last ad campaign, Vlisco decided to explore an alternative approach with fashion illustrations. This time, it’s back to photography for Silent Empire.
We can definitely spot the Asian influence with the styling.

Vlisco launches its new Silent Empire collection in February 2012. The inspiration for the collection comes from the hidden secrets and gentle formality of a distant place, in line with Vlisco’s aim of meeting different cultures and incorporating various surprising elements from around the world into its designs in 2012.
Cultural inspiration
The Silent Empire collection was inspired by a culture that is both hauntingly familiar and incredibly foreign. Imagine the quiet drama of a frozen opera. A world with fading colours and gentle blossoms, with silent temples and soft whispers. Where clothing often features formal tailoring and plenty of pleats. Reinterpreted for Vlisco, this creates a witty new world, a tempered storm, where exaggerated touches and bold designs are beautifully balanced through the power of subtleness.
Bold patterns, muted colours
The fabric designs of the Silent Empire collection feature daring graphic patterns, toned down by a colour palette of muted earth tones. The careful use of bright blue and lime green touches bring the designs to life. Foreign influences show themselves in the intricate layering of details in the patterns, adding a touch of playfulness.
Luxury Editions, fashion and accessories
The fabric collection also comes in various Luxury Editions. These fabrics are embellished with exclusive details, such as intricate embroidery, shimmering gold thread, sophisticated sequins and sparkly Swarovski crystals, adding a touch of extravagance to any outfit. The Silent Empire Luxury Editions and a range of fashion and accessories based on the Silent Empire fabric designs will be available at select Vlisco Boutiques and the Vlisco website from February 2012.
Communications campaign
The communications campaign, photographed by Miep Jukkema, shows a serene environment in powdery white shades, with a foreign-looking skyline in the background. In the campaign, the model is wearing avant garde fashions made with Silent Empire fabrics. The clothing and styling used in the campaign clearly show that the range’s cultural roots lie in a far-away world.

This is what I call “Eccentric” Fashion
I think the whole point of these designs is to show what you can do with ankara fabric and having a bigger vision. Most fashion designs you see on the catwalk are not meant for personal wear because they are not practical however they are meant to inspire and set the trend for the new seasons designs!!!
So i would say i love every design above, very out there!
The craftmanship on these pieces is amazing and really let the fabric shine.

Love this collection! WOW! Intelligent Ankara use + the shoes + hair etc all go together with the empire theme – would be looking out for this brand, interesting to see how they bring the concept of nigerian empire to light….as this is pretty much oriental based but love it all the same….

Lovin the geisha and origami influences in the styling….wow! It’s true the emphasis is on the print design and not the styles but you can pick a detail from one style and translate it into your own wearable version.Fabulous prints! That’s why we like to save up and treat ourselves to a Vlisco occassionally eh, ladies?

Love the different designs. I don’t think they want us to go and make an exact copy of any of the designs cos some of them are not practical. The essence of the advert is to show us what you can achieve with their fabric, if only you would let your imagination roam.
I always love when they come out with these, I think every design is both creative and gorgeous.
Absolutely beautiful and inspiring. Just gorgeous. I can really see myself using some of these fabrics for long skirts.
For those who don’t get the designs… take a look at the runway shows for the late Steve McQueen. He used to put Antelope horns and netting on his models. That does not mean you should wear his dresses with horns on your head. Its all about art and making an overall impression.
But to each his own. I loved it.
I need access into the head of the designer. I need to explore his imaginations.
obviously like your web site but you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very bothersome to tell the truth then again I’ll definitely come again again.
