    • bibah April 27, 2012 at 8:52 PM

Most beautiful girl in Nigeria?? why are they all wearing weave….i have no problem with wearing weave but the least they can do is make it look real…It just looks disfigured and really off!

      • Chi April 30, 2012 at 10:35 AM

You took the words right out of my mouth…the weaves/wigs are DIRE…

        • Steph May 3, 2012 at 4:28 PM

they should make them all use their hair n minimum makeup, then we can judge, but i think gombe and rivers. everyone esle NAHHHh

    • Zola April 27, 2012 at 8:55 PM

All but one contestant has a weave and several have damaged hairlines. More care needed for weave wearers! The supermodel contestants in Nigeria all opted to wear their own hair and care of natural hair was encouraged. We need a “Hairvolution”!

      • Myhairmybeauty April 27, 2012 at 10:50 PM

I honestly couldn’t agree more!! They all need to contest without weaves and eye contacts.

        http://Www.myHairmyBeauty.wordpress.com

      • Erin April 28, 2012 at 12:35 AM

These are my exact thots!!!! They need to pay more attention to their hair!

      • Blamaco11 December 24, 2012 at 2:08 PM

Speak to me good person…..I thought I was the only person who noticed it…..what a shame, what is happening to Black women the world over? Tired of this fake hair, fake nails and – up (wannabes) attitude of the Black women.

Yes , lets have a damn Hairvolution.

    • Sexxie April 27, 2012 at 8:59 PM

My top 3, Miss Imo, Abuja & Rivers.

      • Ginika April 30, 2012 at 8:13 AM

Miss plateau stands out for me as a beauty queen…

    • jide April 27, 2012 at 9:02 PM

infact i like how anyone can rep any state, but why does it always have to be igbo. yes i get igbos get that mgbede pageantry tradition, but sha make make the repping equal for all. Secondly i dont know the criteria which the judges use judge this but, i have seen beautiful nigerian girls and most of these one no be it.

      • Truth be told April 28, 2012 at 1:32 AM

maybe you should go for one of the auditioning sessions and look at the people that come to the auditions. It’s not every pretty girl that wants to contest in the pageant

    • tos April 27, 2012 at 9:05 PM

all these girls no fine oh..

    • mandown April 27, 2012 at 9:08 PM

I don’t mean to be tribalistic but what is with Igbo girls and beauty pageants year after year?

    • Nnma@yahoo.com April 27, 2012 at 9:29 PM

Seriously you think after years of doing this show sylva bed will be a bit more professional . These contestants don’t represent their states sylva bed should allow the various states come up with their one statute representative then the all battle it out. Secondly the makeup, weave and photography screams cheap skates don’t they have sponsors or better still let them all have their natural hair maybe in a con row with minimal make and then we start talking. Nah wah oh silver bed give the franchise away if you are tired and stop putting up substandard show and sending girls out to the international seen with no chance of comparison to their counter parts.

      • Nnma@yahoo.com April 27, 2012 at 9:30 PM

        Slyva bed pun intended;)

    • KikuyuChic April 27, 2012 at 9:34 PM

No offense but last year’s had prettier girls. This year there’s no competition at all! Girls with bad ass weaves and bad brows! Miss Delta honey, don’t you have any friends… The tweezer is your friend… No wait wax… Or could it be thread? Either way, do your friggin’ brows already!!

Is that seriously the most beautiful girl in Lagos? SMH

    • Fashion addict April 27, 2012 at 10:53 PM

Miss Imo is the only one that does not look so bad…. What is going on in this country??? It says MBGN and look at the girls / women contesting…. :s

    • Rabina April 27, 2012 at 10:54 PM

Why are people so critical??? Beauty is not the only criteria the organisers look for- they look for poise, style and intelligence, which I see in all these contestants. You only need to look at the youtube video of the MBGN 2011 auditions to see how some of the really pretty girls turned out to be quite stupid actually. Looking at these contestants, I would vote for Rivers, Abuja, Bayelsa (not your average beauty but has some star quality and strong confidence about her) and Kwara. Kebbi and Kaduna are the dark horses here. Anyhow, good luck to all the contestants and applause for having the courage to take part in the contest!!!

      • Rabina April 30, 2012 at 1:22 AM

        oj

      miss imo……..

    • ggg April 27, 2012 at 11:36 PM

This just gets worst every year. Please Silver Bird is this the best Nigeria has to offer? How about given the selection a national spread so that girls from other areas can compete. I mean during the time of MNET Face of Africa scouts left South Africa and went to the nooks and crannies of some African countries to scout for models. Why can’t Silver Bird do the same. This is beginning to look like a joke.

    • Gimmer April 27, 2012 at 11:47 PM

Like munching said….this one na MUGN

    • kimbim April 27, 2012 at 11:47 PM
    • moses April 27, 2012 at 11:51 PM

My winner is Miss Abj.. Okbye

    • hmmm April 28, 2012 at 12:11 AM

A s much as I get where some pple are coming from … i like the idea sha…what if your igbo and you grew up in a particular state all your life?….should one be denied?..i though this was NIGERIA!..but i do agree that they should be a fair share among different tribes but at the end of the day who ever rocks …..the only problem and poiint i would add is that i really do feel like getting a pair of scissors and remove the bad weaves off their heads…..horrid!

    • Sansarai April 28, 2012 at 12:16 AM

My dayzzzz…what a motley crew! How can these be the most beautiful girls in Naij? Most of these chics’ eyebrows need a desperate intervention and as for their weaves….Miss Borno, Miss Anambra, Miss Plateau and Miss Rivers are the only decent ones in my eye.

    • QueenofEverything April 28, 2012 at 12:50 AM

ok, seriously… what on earth is going on there *confused.com* erm… i’m pretty sure all the states being rep’ed by Igbo girls have indigenes that are far “more beautiful” than those put forward.
And please, someone sort their weaves out or i’m going to scream! looks cheap and tacky, they concentrated on the eyebrows and forgot a woman’s crowning glory? *yawn*
with that said, i’m moving back to Nigeria to contest for next year, with this year’s offerings i’m sure i will survive the cut ;)

      • Ambi May 4, 2012 at 12:13 PM

All those complaining that the gals r ugly y didn’t u go and contest so that the whole world can see ur beauty, and to those complaining dat it is only igbo gals dat r in the competition the reason is the gals from those states were so horrible so they had no oda choice but to replace dem with igbo gals. Being in a pagent is not all about beauty bt also confidence. How many of those pretty damsels u see everyday are willing to take this bold step and participate in the contest. Instead of talking trash I think we should appreciate these gals who against all odds have made it this far.

    • aebissy April 28, 2012 at 12:51 AM

OMG MBGN , Ϟ J̶̲̥̅̊u̶̲̥̅̊S̤̥̈̊τ̲̣̣̥ fall M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣ hand. Are Ϟ telling Nigerians that these are the most beautiful girls we’ve got. Truly the beautiful ones are not yet born .

okay now shey na only ibo girls day naija nie plus why is an ibo girl representing oyo and ogun state like seriously…

    • dee one April 28, 2012 at 2:00 AM

it seems to me one of the criteria for picking these girls was “raggedy hair”…..if not why do dey all have such bad hair. Their natural hair wud hav bin a lot beta.

    • Glow April 28, 2012 at 2:01 AM

      Hey Sexxie: Well said!
Eh dey like we come get the same eye oh!

    • Wowza April 28, 2012 at 3:40 AM

      Kwara for the win!!!

    • Kimbelee April 28, 2012 at 3:43 AM

Tiffany Davies who is Miss Delta bears a strong semblance to Helen Prest Ajayi and i can beat my breasts and says thats her first daughter who’s been in the UK all this while. As for the other girl who claims to have charles Granville attacvhed to her name, abeg wats that? So make we vote u becos ur brutha na gospel singer ehn?

    • Lanre April 28, 2012 at 4:23 AM

My choice of a contestant will depend on who I would most likely wish to meet. I give it to Miss Bauchi – Okolo Obianuju. It is funny though that Igbo sounding names will represent Yoruba States or Hausa States (Where is Miss Sokoto and Miss Zamfara). It appears this has been the practice of the organisers, though. For example, Nike Oshinowo who won in 1991 is reported to have represented Rivers State. She runs another organisation, Miss Nigeria and I understand there are many pageants today not just MGBN run by Silverbird.

    • Justin T April 28, 2012 at 4:25 AM

This is ridiculous. Take a trip to Unilag and you would find girls that are 10 times more finer than any girl on this list…you cant tell me that these are the prettiest girls that showed up at the audition…I think theres a conspiracy….

    • femena April 28, 2012 at 4:27 AM

this Ifeoma Umeokeke was in the MBGN 2011 pagent, cant she make way for others to try……pple sef

    • Annabelle April 28, 2012 at 5:16 AM

Absolutely ridiculous. Where are the pretty ones I see on the streets? These folks look tired and haggard. Only Ms Rivers seems to have a bit of what it takes – with some polish on d-day. Silverbird, na wa sha

    • Naijah April 28, 2012 at 5:32 AM

Most Beautiful Igbo Girls In Nigeria… is a better title … They don’t represent the population.

    • wazobia April 28, 2012 at 5:46 AM

Miss Enugu. Looks calm and classy..I think she deserves to win,or @least come out first 3.

    • Amina April 28, 2012 at 5:47 AM

Miss Rivers skin is GORGEOUS tho. I vote for Miss Rivers, Abuja, Taraba, Yobe, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Gombe, Kwara, and Kaduna

    • EastAfricanPrincess April 28, 2012 at 6:13 AM

At this rate they may as well hold the contest in an East African country if they want to get real beauties… #justsaying. Half these girls had to overcompensate for their lack of visage with hideous weaves and elementary level makeup… tisk tisk…

    • EastAfricanPrincess April 28, 2012 at 6:15 AM

No wonder Nigerian men are flooding East Africa! Clearly the beautiful ones have not yet been born in West Africa… Sad but true

    • stels April 28, 2012 at 7:52 AM

Kwara for sure …. She is the only outstanding when it comes to looks…. For other bases for judgments, well can’t tell

    • Umoru Mathias April 28, 2012 at 8:00 AM

Na waoh! None of these girls fit miss Nigeria, look at the so called miss lagos and miss delta, their clavicle long pass wood.
If i am the judge the winner will be miss Bauchi.
The worst contestant is miss Benue

    • titileps April 28, 2012 at 8:01 AM

As far as i am concerned, nobody among these gals will win the contest… they are beautiful gals, but not pretty enough to represent Nigeria….

    • signature April 28, 2012 at 8:06 AM

Honestly i know intellect counts, but you actually have to be beautiful as well. Miss benue you sure have a lot of guts signing urself up for the pageant…pack well jare
oh n when do we get full shot pls, i mean it can’t all be bad can it?
for me sha it is either miss gombe or miss imo, and only because they even get to pass the first criteria- “beauty” we never hia their english yet *wipes sweat*

    • nene April 28, 2012 at 9:22 AM

isn’t miss delta, helen prest ajayi’s daughter abi why is her name daivies? because i know i saw her at helen prest ajayi’s 50th party a few years back with the other children

      • Chikaka May 2, 2012 at 12:07 PM

Her daughter from her first marriage. Miss Plateau does it for me.

    • Omo April 28, 2012 at 9:27 AM

I don’t see any pretty girl here abeg..and why are Ibos representing all other states?? Each is supposed to represent its own, that the only way to see their uniqueness. No wonder they all look the same..plain!!!
Btw..abeg Miss Delta na person mama???

    • nene April 28, 2012 at 9:27 AM

miss PLATEAU, OGUN, NIGER, IMO, and ABIA for the win. PLATEAU-typical northern beauty.MISS ABUJA stop contesting for beauty pageants u r not fine haba. i saw this lady in the last MISS NIGERIA with Nike Osinowo. BENUE, BAYELSA, ADAMAWA, EBONYI, ENUGU, OYO, and LAGOS…hian wetin bring una come beauty pageant kwa. o chim. it is NEVER BY FORCE OH! SILVERBIRD AS USUAL RUBBISH AT ORGANIZING THINGS.

    • Jen April 28, 2012 at 9:35 AM

Hmmm, some of the girls are lovely, some are not but ‘dayum’, some of the weaves are too scary for words. Is this a MBGIN pageant or Battle of The Weaves ? For that reason alone, my vote is for Miss. Rivers. Not only is she lovely but she is the only person who went natural. Thank God she has also not bleached.

    • Jen April 28, 2012 at 9:39 AM

Correction; Miss Adamawa also went natural with her hair

    • minilavander April 28, 2012 at 9:45 AM

ALl the comments are true but i tink most beautiful gilrs opted not to buy d form seeing dat
In most mbgn pageant its only d judges pick dat wins instead of d ryt person soo y shud they
Watse their tym buying d form## magomago to much 4 naija soooooo u guys dnt blame these grls maybe after a few days in camp wit d ryt hair n makeup n gud photography will see beauty….#just sayn

    • IMO April 28, 2012 at 9:55 AM

backing my state, pls dear bera be smart if not go n start reading up now…

for y’all complaining bout Igbo girls all over, well Igbos r found in every corner of naija, and if d constitution allows u to contest for public office in any state after being resident dere for 10 abi 15yrs, i dont see wat d deal is wit contesting for pageants… i know igbo’s who naturalized in d north, know more bout being northerners/westerners than being igbo… they are all nigerians, if u don’t like it, pls cross seme boarder to togo or somewhere!

    • oluokun biodun ganiyat April 28, 2012 at 9:59 AM

      Oyo contestant will win

    • Esmeralda April 28, 2012 at 11:11 AM

I am a Nigerian girl, with a lot of beautiful friends, neighbours etc but these gals put togther as MBGN contestants are disaster/disgrace and embarassment to the real Nigerian girls.I don’t know who to blame, the judges? Were they blind? I can’t stop wondering and smh.Bellanaija pls don’t encourage this by uploading dis collection of ancient female deity(s) here we love they color/live we come here to see not dead things!

    • SAMUEL GEORGE April 28, 2012 at 11:50 AM

wish you all the Dami. miss rivers, u look closest to what i will vote for. i have totally lost confidence in dis competition. at the end of the day, a moron will be crowned again….i leave the organizers to the God-Knows-what criteria they use in picking…all the best to the contestants.

    • Me real April 28, 2012 at 3:09 PM

Silverbird has lost it completely….. in my own view, Adaeze was d last ”QUEEN” i tink they had, after her, they’ve only been able to produce the ugliest girls in naija….na connection dem dey take win now. Its a pity!

    • Ms. Lazy April 28, 2012 at 3:18 PM

Seriously!!! Out of the plethora of women out there this is the pool available for the picking? Pathetic!!! I mean no diss to the ladies but this is quite embarrassing. Whatever happened to natural beauty. All but one has shown her own actual hair. Wow!

    • clairebaby April 28, 2012 at 3:25 PM

Interesting! Miss Nigeria 1979-Helen prest ajayi’s daughter Tiffany Davies is representing delta state…..
      Miss kaduna is really pretty
I reserve my comments on the rest, maybe they r not photogenic (fingers crossed)

      • Yoknyam Dabale May 5, 2012 at 5:06 PM

yes, agreed natural hair, and also with no make up for the first few pictures and then could have other shots with makeup etc….anyway, good luck to those who find these sorta events important!

ofomah chisokwu kinda stands out…..she looks different…but shaaaa the beautiful ones are not yet born ooo.goodluck

    • wsb April 28, 2012 at 8:22 PM

This is just pathetic! I kept waiting for the punchline to this joke of a line-up… The glory days of Agbani and Chinenye Ochuba are well and truly gone. If these girls are the best we can eke out from the whole population of eligible ladies, then I daresay Silverbird has become a charity that gives out money for nothing. Not one of these girls looks remotely fresh, not one will command a second look if she walked past me. God, I shudder to even think of how well they speak English. Don’t even get me started on the atrocious weaves and cruddy makeup they have going on. This is a SHAM of the highest propensity. God! I weep for Nigeria

    • doppleganger April 28, 2012 at 8:28 PM

defly my darling tomi! (miss kwara) we are voting for you sweets! make us proud!

      Miss Rivers all the wayyyyyy

    • ao April 29, 2012 at 12:11 AM

Look at all the Igbo haters being hateful towards Igbos. Jealousy is rampant. If your own women have what it takes, then they should have contested; or did they and were too wowo to make the cut. Do not worry, you haters can do like Nike O and start your own pageant that lowers standards so that girls from your tribe can win.

      • Bebe April 29, 2012 at 12:46 PM

HIGH FIVE!! Abeg if your fellow tribe mates didn’t make the cut. Just keep praying for the beautiful ones to be born. Igbo girls just have it… Period!

    • marvel April 29, 2012 at 12:22 AM

Which girls are not fine biko? Please stop criticising unecessarily. Let Banke Meshida do their make up and give em a good hairdresser, let us see the results. Apart from 1 or 2, most of them are pretty. It is the entire weave that is distracting. They are not bad and if only Igbos take advantage of the event, nobody should complain.

    • Temi April 29, 2012 at 12:48 AM

      MISS GOMBE!!!

    • lammy April 29, 2012 at 2:31 AM

U don’t blame us in nigeria igbo has the most beautiful people compare to other tribe, joke apart. Any beautiful girl u loo well she must be igbo likewise men. So don’t be surprise

      • Yoknyam Dabale May 5, 2012 at 4:01 PM

in your view, how many other so called “tribes” (amongst the over 300 ) do you know in Nigeria, to draw that conclusion? It is unfortunate that most times I am with fellow Nigerians , I hear more divisive chants than anything else. Why can’t we appreciate our diversity for the betterment of uplifting us all, having in mind that our nation building is vital and everything else is secondary?

    • invisible April 29, 2012 at 4:26 AM

Miss Enugu for the win yayyyy she’s gorgeous and so natural and african looking!

    • Mimi April 29, 2012 at 6:42 AM

It looks like females are not representing the states that they are originally from, eg a Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa/etc girl from Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa/etc states… Although I know in pageantry, girls originally not from a certain place, represent it because they maybe went to school there, or live there, but I think it’d be nice to see a Olayinka or Folasade from Oyo or Ondo and Zainab and Halimah from Adamawa or Bauchi state(s) rather than Chiomas and Obianujus from those places. I’m just sayin, people are not representing their tribal areas…

And on a sidenote: WHAT’S GOING ON WITH THESE MAKEUPS AND WEAVES?? Can the organization not arrange for better presentation of the girls? Rather the girls themselves! Some people are looking very village-like smh Maybe it’s because I’m used to what I see in the US, but c’mon! based on the BN wedding photos I see on this site and songs about naija girls claiming to only wear Brazilian hair, Nigeria has such amenities and services that one should be able to look presentable.
      ThatIsAll

    • Mimi April 29, 2012 at 6:42 AM

But I shall be rooting for Ms Enugu (paternal state) and Ms Imo (maternal state)!

    • Zee April 29, 2012 at 8:05 AM

    • Jameel April 29, 2012 at 8:32 PM

For God sake, how did these girls get to be selected? Please, stop using Igbo girls to represent Hausa girls. If you can not find any hausa girls for hausa states, let the states be free without representatives; at least it will mean less work for the judges to come out with the beauty Queen or should I say “scare crow” queen.

    • henro April 29, 2012 at 11:33 PM

      miss abuja, bauchi or rivers

      • Soraya May 4, 2012 at 5:34 PM

No, she doesn’t have bad skin- it was the photographer’s fault- most pictures were terrible and the unfortunate thing is that Benue happened to get the worst shot of all but she comes across as a pretty chick

Gone are the days of MBGN, d days of Agbani Darego & Regina Askia. These days even Mercy Johnson could pass off as the MBGN. The whole entertainment industry has gone down.

Oh my bad, dem ladies are all beautiful in dia own ways; even miss Lagos

Maybe they should try on natural looks, I knw 2 ppl there who are 18 & 19 years old respectively; but they 25. Smh to these desperation to look western, it is highly overrated.

Miss Gombe, Miss Imo, Miss Rivers? Really pretty, loads of potential. I’m sure everyone else was just taking pictures for their friends and loved ones.
