On Saturday 16th June 2012, Nigerian R &B superstar Banky W together with reps from the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) visited the Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola at the state house to interview him for a documentary hosted by the EME boss.
Banky W who is presently on set in South Africa for the hit M-Net TV series Jacob’s Cross said “The documentary is about promoting democracy in Nigeria through the youths of Nigeria and it included an interview with Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, I had a nice time”.
According to their rep, the track “Change” off the EME all stars “Empire Mates State of Mind” album will be used as a soundtrack in the documentary.

I saw him (Banky W) on Saturday in a supermarket in Sandton city Johannesburg, he is very friendly guy, though i could not pronounce his name properly.
Way to go boss
like this guy, he’s got something upstairs
I feel utmost sympathy for Nigerian youths, when democracy becomes a photo-op project.
I was just about to talk about how ridiculous your comment is, but then I noticed your name “madman”, and then I thought, wow, that explains his comment, KMT!
At least Bank W is doing something worthwhile with his time, and actually actively trying to contribute to the improvement of the situation in Nigeria. Photo-op indeed! *SMHKAMT*
my comment is not ridiculous. I know BankyW and he is a fraud. He lacks integrity and credibility but I hope when he finally gets elected, he will punish you Nigerians like Jonathan is doing to you all now. Rubbish!!!
what exactly have made Banky W credible? What has he done exactly except sing songs about Women? Thats a big problem in Nigeria – Nigerians have no guage nor do they ask the right questions on credibility — you just accept everyone e because they are RICH or because they are celebrities. Word of advice, learn to hold people accountable for their actions.
All these your attacks, I wonder. Banky W seems to be making his money through entertainment (not 419 or politics). From what I’ve heard, he has an engineering degree (so he’s probably not an imbecile).
In fact, you’re a true ‘madman’. You want us to join your rally against Banky, when we don’t even know what you’re talking about. CORRECT ONYE ARA.
Will you be worth a response? NO!
@Voka,wat dere that is difficult to pronounce ? Name dropping
Nigerians can be seriously hateful creatures… DID IT NOT OCCUR TO YOU THAT WITH A NAME LIKE “VOKA”, THE COMMENTER MAY NOT BE NIGERIAN AND THEREFORE HAS A PROBLEM WITH PRONOUNCING BANKY’S NAME PROPERLY?????????
Arrgghh, you’ve driven me to use caps but please get rid of the spite in you, it’s debilitating….
FASHOLA SHOULD HIS TIME DOIN MORE PRODUCTIVE THINGS LIKE LOOKING INTO THE DEMANDS OF LAGOS STATE DOCTORS …
nice one,keep it up
Commendable! gOod work banky W, but pls stop wearing dos silly kangol caps, lol.
Hian! Madman, what must he do to prove his credibility? Fight lions? Provide electricity? As a citizen, one’s duty is to contribute to the nation’s progress in ways that they know how to. Banky wrote a widely read articulate response to Reuben Abati’s condemnation of Nigerian youth…this to me shows that he’s politically aware & willing to step up. The man didn’t say he’s running for a political position, he’s merely doing something similar to what D’banj woefully failed at…which is ask questions on behalf of us.
He sings about women–beautifully, might I add. That’s his profession. But he also sang on one of the soundtracks for the World Cup, was on the soundtrack for Shuga (which has a strong societal message), ati bee bee lo.
The morale of my story is Banky W does what he does and does it well (he should tell Skales to stop getting fat sha). That doesn’t mean he lacks credibility to ask political questions. Entertainment and politics are not mutually exclusive..props to USAID, Fashola, and Banky. Love him…not the head though
Valid neutral points.
Hopefully his is better than the D’Banj/Jonathan mess
Cool! Bit confused as I thought he was a musician…
