Wow! Afrobeats in the sky.

During a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Lagos, the pilot and people on the plane took notice of Femi Kuti and members of his band, The Positive Force. One thing led to another and they had an impromptu performance of Fela Kuti’s “Water No Get Enemy”, while they were at 38000ft above sea level, somewhere over Africa.

…all I’m thinking now is – “I wish I was on that plane”.

Check on it.

Why does it sound more like noise pollution than music? I’m not impressed by this impromptu performance. If you’re not going to do a great job, then let people enjoy their flight– in silence, without the blaring trumpets and all.

How cool! Aww Femi and his band are so awesome. What a treat for the passengers. I love how the flight crew got totally into it with their camera phones and videos. (Just hoping the pilot stayed put…..sha!) However, got to give a shout out to the cranky East Asian man who kept adjusting his ear-plugs to block out the music. Got to love some people!! Wish I had been on that plane too. I have a new love and respect for KLM for allowing this.

Oops so more of the video. Later on the East Indian man starting nodding his head, clapping and rocking to the beat. That’s the power of Positive Force sha! Thanks BN for posting such an awesome video. First thing I watched when I got to work LOL!!

I would prefer having my ears disturbed than to have Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on my plane…which is would have very disturbing. At least we would arrive in one piece.

Air france in flight entertainment is horrible so this must have been a delight for the passengers

      • CAC August 2, 2012 at 2:53 PM

What has air france got to do with this article? The article clearly states that they were on KLM, a Netherland airline and NOT air france.
