The Nigerian team has done us proud at the London 2012 Paralympics has clinched the gold medal in the powerlifting competition on the first day of the games. 33 year old Yakubu Adesokan set the new world record by lifting 178kg of weights at the men’s 48kg Men’s powerlifting.

We, at BellaNaija, say congratulations to Yakubu and we wish the rest of the team more success as the games go on.
