On Friday 17th August 2012, Glitz Africa Magazine, a Ghanaian owned celebrity and lifestyle magazine that embraces fashion and celebrates fashion designers across Africa, kicked off its 3 Day fashion week presentation at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana.
The Glitz Africa Fashion Week saw an array of top designers of African origin from Ghana, United Kingdom, United States of America, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria and more, showcase some of their most creative pieces.
Here’s are the names of the designers that presented their collections;
Designers from Ghana – Peachy Pur, House of Eccentric, Ani Siyah, Pearl Amoah, Ophelia Crossland, Kofi Ansah, Ivana Elle Couture, Diva Delicious, Kolture Apparel, Mina Evans, Dedo, N’Kya Designs, SA4A, Aya Morrison and Akuchi Clothing
Designers from Nigeria – Mai Atafo Inspired, Vonne Couture, Ambassador Couture, House of Farrah, Modela Couture and Wana Sambo Clothing
Other Designers – Ali Adams (South Africa), Kastle Designs & Treasure Chest (US), Martial Tapolo (Paris), Dio Ali (Cameroon), Felicien Catermann (Benin), Habbib Sangare (Côte d’Ivoire), Black Pepper (South Africa), Abaya Dake (US), Farrah (India), Ohema Ohene (UK) and Gilles Toure (Côte d’Ivoire)
The Glitz Fashion Week ended on Sunday 19th August 2012 with the award show. The winners of the night included; Nigerian designer, Mai Atafo as the Designer of the Year, Ghanaian designer, Mina Evans as the Emerging Designer of the Year, Ghanaian label SA4A for the Chivas Luxury Brand award, Zion Benjamin as Model of the Year and Ghana’s couturier, Kofi Ansah took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.
