In August 2012, the Showbiz Honours launch event took place at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The event’s official press release states that, “The Showbiz Honours is an award ceremony to celebrate individual icons who have, for more than five years, contributed to the arts and entertainment industry and also helped the country’s image on the international stage. It selects one icon to celebrate him or her.“
For 2012, former Ghana Black Stars footballer, Stephen Appiah has been selected as the award recipient. He was chosen based on his tireless charity initiatives via his foundation StepApp and his positive role model status for youth in Ghana. According to News-One, this year’s edition of Showbiz Honours will be a festival including various activities such as football matches and the main award ceremony at the State House, Banquet Hall on the 24th of December 2012.
Ghanaian stars including Yvonne Okoro, Nadia Buari and Nicky Samonas were at the event. Nadia is a previous recipient of the Showbiz Honours accolade.
All three ladies looked so fabulous. We just had to share.

But…I have to keep it real o… Their men tend to leave a lot to be desired in the looks department. This Steve Appiah is a case in point! As in, I never understand it! Yvonne Okoro is so pretty, she reminds me of a girl who I went to UWI with. I remember telling the girl that she looked like a Ghanaian actress and she didn’t know whether the comparison was good or bad. The girl was just shorter and lighter, but I do think that Yvonne is prettier. The other actresses are ok, neither here nor there in the looks department, but I guess its because they look like alot of people I know from Trinidad.
