Who’s Got What It Takes? You Decide! Meet the Male & Female Elite Model Look Nigeria 2012 Finalists

This Saturday 29th September 2012, the 2012 edition of the Elite Model Look Nigeria competition, which comprises of both male and female search, will take place in grand style at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Black & White event, will see the 20 finalists from all walks of life strut the runway in fab pieces pieces by top fashion houses including Mango, Sunny Rose, Odion Mimonet, Rabahia, Mimi Lee London, Grey, Dakova, Kool-Village and Temple Muse for Swim wear and at the end of the night, one lucky finalist in both the male and female categories who is up to par with the criteria required by the judges will earn the prestigious title of the Elite Mode Look Nigeria 2012.
The winner will join finalists from 80 other countries at the World Final set to take place in Shanghai, China on Saturday 8th December 2012. Till then, BN brings exclusively to you all the male and female finalists.

Based on looks, all are good to go. But it’s not really based on looks. They have to move too.
Why does the fashion world insist models should be hangers rather than pin cushions…barbie dolls and not raggedy anns? It seems somewhat arbitrary to me.
@ Tosin unfortunately thats what models are ‘walking cloth hangers’ anymore curves and they will draw attention away from the clothes and to themselves, designers don’t want that. Very sad but true!

There is a nice selection for the women – I worry about Ogechi Nnaji and Cynthia Bassey but over all most of the girls look like a good group to groom into models.
The men on the other hand – hm na wa. Sha, I can see the following making it – Ife Akinlemi-Bola, Kimmie Adams, Peter Finn, Steven Nkang and Oluwatoyin Oyeneye. Why are they all so short or just a little average in height?
Modeling isn’t only about being photogenic, one can be photogenic but the pictures speak nothing to the person looking at it – there is no message coming across. Modeling is like acting, you must be able to communicate without words using the body and the eyes. I think that is what people fail to understand – you can be tall, skinnier than a light pole but if you don’t know how to use the camera, the light and your body then forget about modeling as a career. It isn’t just smiling or boning into the camera. Also, just like in any form of arts and entertainment, you have to have that X-factor. There must be a certain je ne sais quoi, a charm and a presence.

I give it up to Bukola Anthony. She’s got the Grace Jones looks, which is not a plus though. But she looks astonishing. I think her biggest/stiffest competition would be Moyinoluwa. She’s dope beautiful, could pass for an ugly-pretty model. Works anywhere. She’s international standard. Bukola anyway!

The team who selected d contestants did a great job. They all look wonderful. For the Girls Fejiro and for d Guys Steven. They standout and really have the model look and qualities.
First off I wanna say that Elite has done a great work picking such a great bunch for their even this year. They all look apt and good for the job, I look at them and I see worthy models through and through. I do however think that they could have done better with the photographs cos I will think these individuals have better looking photos that spell out “model” on a first look, and the pictures didn’t do most of them justice, I can tell already. That notwithstanding, I will pick FEJIRO EGBEDI cos she just strikes me as the total package with her subtle sultry look which has me wondering what she’s made of. He face built and her body structure as well as that of the other clearly is on point.
They all look amazing but if I had to make a pick? It will be FEJIRO EGBEDI.
For the guys? Well….. I don’t have a say in that, let the best man win!
