Short and Sweet….hope it all goes well, all the best.
If Nigeria is not careful Ghana will chase it to another continent. Ghana Fashion, music and movies are really competing with Nigeria’s. I really love the competition.

No offense but it’s pretty obvious you don’t pay attention to detail.
Music? yeah, some are very good but all in all, Nigerian music takes the lead with variety, innovation and world recognition. Movies, they are just as jacked up as we are. With their 10 story lines and cultureless movies, we are still ahead. YES, we have terrible movies (Iweka Rd must ring a bell here) BUT when you sift for the best of ours and theirs, we win in quality and quantity produced.
Fashion where? Nigeria is light years ahead. Their shining beacon is Christie Brown and she PALES in comparison to her direct Nigerian counterpart, Jewel By Lisa. Ozwald Boateng is another story though, that’s the only true designer who built his complete brand in London.
I have heard this Nigeria-Ghana comparison several times and it irks me because it is so unfounded and truly just another bad Nigerian habit in itself (always thinking the grass is greener elsewhere and getting impressed by any little thing). Ghana has certainly accomplished a lot of things and Africa is proud but please, we cannot fool ourselves here; they are much smaller than us in in population and inevitably several other ways, especially development in the arts.
Well said!!
…all this long talk!…Just appreciate and dont hate. I come from both sides and we should learn to appreciate and support the other rather than compare all the time. And Naija dis, and Ghana dat!!..its all bullsh*t!! (excuse my french BellaNaija)..just pisses me off that everytime, Ghana is mentioned on ur blog, some Nigerian has to come out and hate and vice versa…IT@S ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!*I’m out*
Over $1M revenues in 2011 and an $8M VC investment in IrokoTV speaks to just how ‘jacked up’ Naija movies are!
Great!
