On Sunday 11th November 2012, the 5th edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards (BON) took place at the TBS Auditorium, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

Hosted by Nollywood stars, Nonso Diobi and Mercy Aigbe, the awards ceremony saw in attendance some of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry including Susan Peters, Uti Nwachukwu, Joseph Benjamin, Uru Eke, Alex Ekubo, Segun Arinze, Fred Amata, Doris Simeon, Desmond Elliot, Emem Isong, AY Makun, Beverly Naya, Ricardo Agbor and Yeka Onka.

Halima Abubakar and Desmond Elliot’s Hair Makeovers
In September, Nigerian actor/producer, Desmond Elliot debuted his funky hair style at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards announcement. Speaking on his new choice of hair, the star said it was for a movie role, Reflections. At the 2012 Best of Nollywood awards, the Nollywood big screen star showed up with his regular hair cut…so that phase is officially over.

Fellow Nollywood star, Halima Abubakar cut hers off. The Good Girls Gone Bad star who wore an off the shoulder red Ankara gown debuted her new shaved hair do.

Susan Peters – The Nollywood star sizzled in a purple, pink and black sequined mini. She accessorized her outfit with drop down earrings, a silver clutch and fuchsia pumps.

Dapper Gents – Big Brother Africa Alum, Uti Nwachukwu, rising actor, Alex Ekubo, Last Flight to Abuja star, Anthony Monjaro, TV Presenter, Efe Tommy, former Mr Nigeria, Kenneth Okolie and comedian, AY Makun, all showed up looking dapper in their stylish suits.

Belinda Effah– The Rising starlet proved she could bring star power to the awards show, showing up in a backless blue floor length dress with flower and sequined details.

Hey, I look good Too -Also looking fab in their ensembles are Yoruba star, Mercy Aigbe, Nigerian Idols Season 1 Winner, Yeka Onka, Doris Simeon in a white knee length frock, Queen of Aso 2012 Onakome Osalor in a gold mini and Beverly Naya in a green and yellow outfit.
