Late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s Will is Unveiled: His Widow, Bianca gets the Bulk Share of his Wealth | Mentions a Previously Unknown Daughter

A year after the death of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the late elder statesman and leader of the defunct Biafra Republic, his will has been presented to the family with his widow, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, getting the bulk share of his wealth.
The will was presented today by the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court, Mr Dennis Ekoh and was witnessed by Bianca, Val Nwosu, Ojukwu’s first cousin, and Mike Ejemba.
What’s more interesting about the will is that it revealed the late Ojukwu had a love child none of his family members knew about. According to Vanguard, he identified one Tenny Haman as one of his children.
Ojukwu listed the children as Tenny Haman, Chukwuemeka Jnr, Mmegha, Okigbo, Ebele, Chineme, Afam and Nwachukwu.
He willed the Casabianca Lodge at No. 7, Forest Crescent, GRA, Enugu, two properties at Jabi and Kuje in the FCT as well as all his money and personal effects to his widow, Bianca. He also said that Bianca should replace him as the trustee in the family company, Ojukwu Transport Ltd, while also giving her two plots of land in his village at Nnewi.
He, however, added that if she re-married, the land should be taken away from her.
The first son, Emeka Jnr., got the family house at Nnewi, while the newly mentioned daughter, Tenny Haman, got the Jubilee Hotel located in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Biafran warlord also shared other landed property in the village among all his children.
Ojukwu listed the trustees and executors of the will to include Bianca, Emeka Jnr and Mr James Chukwuneme.
Reacting to the will, Bianca, who is Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain told Vanguard: “It was a fair will. This time round, he did not disappoint us,’’ she said.
She however, expressed shock at the disclosure of a new daughter in the family, whom she said had never been mentioned by her husband.
None of the children was present at the presentation of the will.

And the name is listed first as one of his children. Seems its his very first child. But I really don’t think he/she is a well known person else the picture would have appeared on google somewhere. But I trust the press, we shall soon see this person …..very soon, when he/she surfaces to claim the hotel inherited in Zaria.
Awwww! but that goes to show that he is kind hearted, for him to have remembered a love child somewhere, atleast to share in inheritance. Some men who have just moved on! after all these years

wow, what a secret, well at least he protected her interest, i respect him even more for not allowing it to cause problems while he was alive, but right by all his children. Truly a great man. But if i may ask if you had a love child would you tell your wife? or wait till death and do it through your will? hmmm!!
Are you freaking kidding me? You respect him more? Oh please! In effect you saying that his wife didn’t deserve to know he had a secret child. His secrecy was cowardly behavior. If you have any doubts, let’s put the shoe on the other foot. Assuming we just discovered that a late Bianca had a secret child what would your reaction be? I can guarantee that you wouldn’t tell us you found new respect for her. i have a feeling that this said new pikin was conceived when he was in uni in uk, bet me that she isnt possibly his first child by the way they are listed. i hope he did a dna test first though. but glad they can all finally relax and enjoy his wealth in peace

That clause is also very fair! ‘cos he has already given landed properties to his children which includes Bianca’s children. So if she re-marries, still letting her own the land will be unfair on the other children…..’cos eventually she will give the land to her own sons ‘cos will she be owning a land at an ex-husband’s home town? Mbanu!! ……So as she said, it was fair.

how old is bianca? cuz if she is past child bearing age i think she should just stay and train her kids and forget remarrying. If Ikemba acknowleged an unknown daughter then this debe is an imposter and should tell us his real father and leave Ojukwus family alone. I admire Ojukwu for not grabbing land everywhere. He was true in life and death and any man knows how difficult it is to tell a man about a love child but he rembembered her so very good for the woman.
But what I don’t understand is why Bianca added the clause “He didn’t disappoint us this time”…..I’m wondering, like has he been disappointing you before now?

Abeg as a lawyer, I was taught in law school that if a beneficiary to a Will witnesses the Will then the gift given to that beneficiary would become void i.e, the beneficiary can not get the gift in the Will. SO abeg why is Bianca as a witness to the Will be getting the gift? Which lawyer help draft the Will?

I don’t think we have heard the last of Ikemba’s will. I have no doubt Debe is Ikemba’s son and was ommited in his will? Without accusing anybody of foul play yet, but could somebody have tampered with Ikemba’s will? Is that really Ikemba’s will?
An unknown daughter (Tenny) recognized, a known son (Debe) not recognised. Interesting!!! Lucky Bianca though.

Apparently Tenny is really “Teni Hamman” who is a Kaduna chic, and those who grew up with her, knew she was Ojukwu’s child, as she looks like him. That makes sense for him to give her the Zaria property.
