Create Your Tomorrow This Christmas! Intel Nigeria Partners with Leading Resellers to bring the best of Windows 8 Computing Experience to Nigerian Consumers

If you’re looking to get up to date with the latest in technology this holiday season at the best prices in town, then you should look no further than Intel’s latest collaboration with selected leading PC re-sellers to bring smart and exciting computing experience to Nigerian consumers.

Worthy of mention is the availability of Intel’s recently inspired Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook by HP as one of the devices in the exciting bundle packages from which consumers can choose from at fantastic prices, in addition to exciting freebies such as internet modems from Airtel, among others.

These bundle offers are available at outlets of flagship re-sellers such as Park ‘n’ Shop, Westgate & Kamdi across Lagos and Abuja and can also be ordered online from Jumia, Nigeria’s No.1 online retailer. Veda Technology is also partnering with Intel in this campaign. Available brands in these bundle offers include HP, Toshiba, Samsung, Veda and Acer.

Most of these devices can run desktop versions of Windows 8 but also switch to the Microsoft tile design made popular by Windows 7 Mobile. In order to effectively take advantage of the tiles, the devices also have touch capabilities.

Instead of a typical password, you can instead unlock your device by drawing a pattern or a particular picture with your finger. It’s similar to the unlock pattern on Android devices but with more freedom for users. The way tabs and multi-tasking work have also been tweaked. You can click on programs and apps to open up new ones, but going back is as simple as dragging your finger from the top to the bottom of the screen. Also, if you want to work on multiple windows, you can split your tabs into different sections of the screen to varying sizes and have all sorts of touchable distractions up.

According to Intel, “Touch is very intuitive, 80% of people we surveyed said they feel more connected when they have touch… they feel more empowered when they can directly interact with their device.”

Windows 8 tiles are a big development for the system and manage to balance between the iOS and Android experience.

Intel Nigeria is supporting this latest effort with a multimedia campaign involving print, radio and online advertising, under the theme “Create your tomorrow with amazing laptop bundles”. This comes as a fitting sequel to the highly successful and exciting introductory “Create your tomorrow” campaign to introduce the brand ‘Intel’ to Nigerians. Key highlights of the campaign included social media engagement which drove unprecedented traffic of over 60,000 fans to facebook.com/intelNigeria, and the “Create Your Tomorrow” competition which challenged young Nigerians to envision the future of Nigeria from their perspectives in different fields of endeavor such as technology, fashion, music & entertainment, sports and so on.
