On Friday 7th December 2012, premium spiced rum Bacardi Oakheart, supported the launch of the Bacardi Oakheart Lounge, an exclusive new bar and lounge strategically located in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the manufacturers, Bacardi Oakheart “is a delicious new spiced rum that is made with a unique oaky flavour. It combines a smooth peppery body with a rum punch, providing a spicey flavour with a bit of bite. A spiced rum with strong masculine appeal, Bacardi Oakheart is best enjoyed with coke, with the unique bar call, “Oak and Coke” that is short, unique, easy to call out in a noisy bar, and just as easily understood by every bartender.”

Innocent Moses, Marketing Development Manager, Bacardi International, said that he aims to position the internationally acclaimed spiced rum, Bacardi Oakheart, as the standard in Nigeria, saying, “If you come in contact with [it], you will not want to do away with [it].

Enjoying his “Oak and Coke” at the event, highly celebrated singer Iyanya, winner of the maiden edition of Project Fame West Africa, had this to say, “It is a rum that people associate with; it is a friendly drink, it is masculine in nature, [and] people associate it with lifestyle.”

Additionally, it is deeply involved in the development of youth and young children, having awarded the sum of five hundred thousand naira to a private primary school in Ikoyi, Lagos. Bacardi also organises pool parties for youths, to provide an avenue for relaxation and to foster networking opportunities.

In addition to the sumptuous Bacardi Oakheart drinks on hand, the launch revealed the trendy new Bacardi Oakheart lounge with exciting backdrops and scenery. As the guests ordered their “Oak and Coke,” international disc jockey DJ King was on hand to provide music and entertainment.
