Mode Men Feb 2013 Issue Toke Ugonna Seyi Shay
The cover says it all! It’s the Valentine’s season and the February 2013 issue of Mode Men Magazine features three rising stars from the world of fashion, TV/Radio and Music. It’s designer Ugonna Omeruo of House of Nwocha, Media Personality Toke Makinwa and musician Seyi Shey.

The ladies look hot in their crisp white shirts paired with red blazers…the real impact comes courtesy the peek-a-boo effect of their unbuttoned shirts  - revealing their black bras, their suspender tights and stilettos.

Also in this issue, check out the list of 2013′s hottest bachelorettes. This should be interesting…

      Mehn… Ugonna killed it

      • @SisiOge February 7, 2013 at 10:19 PM

        As in!

      • Sbaby February 8, 2013 at 12:03 AM

She carried first then Seyi Second, I don’t see anything else on the cover,,, Oh nice font

    • Naijagovtnacompletejoke February 7, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Seriously what does this Toke girl actually do?????? is she a model, actress,OAP, Tv presenter? i’m really confused

      • Rachael February 7, 2013 at 10:27 PM

Do you by any chance have selective reading issues? It clearly states she is an OAP. You don’t have to turn it into lets see who can bash Toke fest.

      • Shane February 7, 2013 at 10:54 PM

Can the girl at least live and breathe. What is with the constant singling out; like as if she has committed some horrendous heinous crime that is unforgivable. She can’t even breath or move without you folks constantly on her neck. You are living your own life let her live hers.

      • TimiNY February 7, 2013 at 10:58 PM

Thats what is termed “hustling”…..gat it?

      • lala February 8, 2013 at 2:35 AM

What do Kim Kardashian or Lala Anthony actually do? Reality, design, make up, hosting what? Capitalize on their fame playing jack of all trades no?

Toke is an OAP and TC presenter who is pretty and popular. She capitalizes on the growing fame. She mustn’t have only one job.

Not a Toke stan (can’t listen to her) but I respect her hustle.

      • Laide February 8, 2013 at 7:58 AM

Like seriously how wud u feel if someone keeps bashing u every single day of their lives…just because of…actually nothing!

    • whats February 7, 2013 at 10:24 PM

Ugonna is the one who made the cover…..I like it …but i pray to God that it doesnt lead to our women stripping for magazines…there is nothing bold about that, its absolute vulgar/crass…..this one is ok, subtle, a bit covered but still oozing sex appeal

      • Teris February 7, 2013 at 11:02 PM

how contradictory. u are giving with one hand and taking with the other.
look, their “tins” are on display. khalas.
buh iss okayy. the world is going to h*** actually and these girls are here to make sure “warri” no go ever carry las’.
stayin’ ahead of da curve and sturvs like dat ya know.

sigh. i just wish the outlook of the new nigerian were more one that involved buckling down to do the real work of getting this darkhole out of relegation. now, all we’re seeing is small boys rapping about having too much money (as if!) and chics “boldly” documenting their beauty for…posterity?

isn’t it funny tho, how the prettiest of the trio has got the tinniest ahems! like nature is trying to level the playing field. #justsaying

        • Tess February 8, 2013 at 12:06 AM

I also wish Teris that ” the outlook of the new nigerian were more one that involved buckling down to do the real work of getting this darkhole out of relegation. now, all we’re seeing is small boys rapping about having too much money (as if!) and chics “boldly” documenting their beauty for…posterity?”.
Call me old fashioned, but I don’t see anything interesting here. ..cheap sexual appeal from so called ‘celebrities’. Na dem sabi.

        • PAUSE! February 8, 2013 at 2:59 AM

DAFUQ IS THIS Teris ON ABOUT? PLS TAKE SEVERAL SITS!

      • sista February 8, 2013 at 4:10 AM

i know mee too! gosh. its so disgusting how women appear on magazines like GQ and the rest. its like um i think men objectify us enough. lets not make it easier for them

    • bey February 7, 2013 at 10:29 PM

This cover is wrong on all levels! Looks forced,sEe their faces O_o.. Remaining red christmas cap/hat to complete it. Lol

    • bey February 7, 2013 at 10:31 PM

Asinn they cldnt smile??? Or do smefin else with d face?? Jst asking… If they were going for fierce/sexy, dey missed it o hian

    • Hampstead Hotness February 7, 2013 at 10:33 PM

Ugo ugo, you “kilt” giving me beauty, curves and legs for dayz mama!

    • www.dprodigaldaughter.com February 7, 2013 at 10:57 PM

Ugonna simply took over the entire cover, killing Toke’s shine in the process … as iinn… it could as well have been just Ugonna on the cover …

      dprodigaldaughter.com

    • www.dprodigaldaughter.com February 7, 2013 at 10:59 PM

That been sed, the ladies should have worn skirts naa … or even if it’s to tie wrapper sef… They are beautiful already; nudity was absolutely unnecessary.

      dprodigaldaughter.com

    • Eva February 7, 2013 at 11:12 PM

They didn’t hear that they are banning porn magazines (just kidding). Nice picture. like the ladies at the sides.

    • sassycassie February 7, 2013 at 11:52 PM

*sigh* naija women (and men), always emulating all sorts of foolishness.
If we put as this much energy and resources into fighting against violence againzt women
( acid baths, rape, sexual harassment , discrimination in the workplace…) , naija would be a much better place

    • Msunderstood February 7, 2013 at 11:59 PM

Sheyi Shay toh bad, that’s all I c.

    • Sbaby February 8, 2013 at 12:01 AM

Ugonna and Seyi Shay nailed this shoot and they just fit the cover but Toke sucked out the full mojo, what is she doing there sef I would have preferred if Toni Tones was used to complete the other two stunners then it will be a perfect magazine cover.
Toke you just be like pure water,,, wanting to be every and anywhere please stick to the radio thing enough of the pointless i gast to feature in every and anything

      • Lacy February 8, 2013 at 6:08 AM

“what is she doing there sef”: she is doing what you will never be able to do in a zillion years and it’s called hustling. She is hustling and what are you doing Sbaby apart from oozing out hatred everywhere you go. What crime did she commit: murder, manslaughter, burglary. She has done none of this crimes. Then you must really enjoy the job of thrashing and trying to crush other peoples progression for no reason. You keep staying angry and mad; she keeps hustling and winning. Who is losing at the end of the day: You. Blessings on you because you need it a lot.

        • Sbaby February 8, 2013 at 5:50 PM

Lacy aka Toke if you cant tae the Heat and Hint then my friend sprint out of the kitchen and thanks for the story but thats my opinion so either you take a sit or you use style and take the advice

    • Myne Whitman February 8, 2013 at 12:20 AM

Unless they’re performers or models advertising lingerie, I see no reason for women half naked on the cover of a men’s magazine.

    • Vics February 8, 2013 at 12:53 AM

Hmmmm….nawa(that is all i can say)…btw..Toke, Toke how many mags do u intend to be on the cover this year? Take am easy o, d entertainment industry is not running away…pls employ the services of a good PR personnel that will offer you professional advices on how not to misuse your ‘big break’ in the industry.

    • bukky February 8, 2013 at 12:58 AM

It is refreshing to see Naija women not conforming to our hypocritical society! not loving Toke’s red tights but in all, it is a great cover.

    • ijeoma February 8, 2013 at 1:22 AM

They are probably more constructive ways that they could get “bolder”

    • peju February 8, 2013 at 2:12 AM

the girl on the left killed it of course! the one in the middle needs to get rid of that hair. that short hair is not for everyone, other than that you all are beautiful :-D

    • HABBA February 8, 2013 at 2:47 AM

plz African women should try to stay modest! there is not reason to be showing your ass and breast just because you want to be “bold” not all black women should be reduced to being NAKED! with that said they all look nice Seyi did it for me. keep it classy girls

    • Aminatu February 8, 2013 at 3:55 AM

AFRICANS STOP TRYING TO BE SO WESTERN AH_AH, this is why i love tiwa savage, she would never be caught half naked, showing her undies on a cover, this is what separates class and the rest. THis is not tasteful, i find it degrading to us african women whom pride ourselves that we should be seen only in this state by our husbands. Infact naija you ppl no dey surprise me, i didnt expect anything better anyways.

      • sista February 8, 2013 at 4:11 AM

lmaoo! too funny. thats an absolute lie. ms. savage is the one that started this boldness in dressing. I guess you didn’t watch her music videos where she is clad in lingerie

      • igbo canadian February 8, 2013 at 5:08 AM

        uhhh tiwa savage?

      • nan February 8, 2013 at 6:09 AM

Abegi! @ aminatu aw can u say tiwa cant be caught half naked????? haven’t you seen her album cover with don jazzy?? what do u call that??

    • Concerned February 8, 2013 at 6:12 AM

Nobody doubts the beauty of these ladies but there are better ways for them to be bold and show class and sophistication. Why do Nigerians always learn the very wrong lessons? How western can you really get in Nigeria? I really dont think they are doing any favour to who they are or hope to be. I truly believe you guys can do lot better than this. Just saying.

    • Cychou February 8, 2013 at 6:20 AM

I don’t really understand how a woman (an african woman at that) can find meaning in this cover…oh dear….

    • AW February 8, 2013 at 7:32 AM

What exactly does OAP stand for? I used to think it was old aged pensioner. I remember the first time I saw it being used in an article from naija , my first reaction was, “That’s not possible, she’s too young to be a pensioner”.

      • Laide February 8, 2013 at 8:02 AM

        Hehe…in ur mind u re funny …lol

      • Non professional opinion February 8, 2013 at 9:57 AM

That was my first thought too, but I think it means on-air personality. I think….

    • isaidit February 8, 2013 at 8:01 AM

@bukky….I am sorry but the western society fought and made sure they had appropriate laws to protect women, improved themselves before women were allowed to these suggestive poses…..and even now they have started campaigning against such…..Nigeria is no where as civilized….the Nigerian woman already suffer rape, abuse, acid and so on…we dont need naked covers to add to our objectification if you want to be bold…help fight for women rights first then e can go on from there

    • Meah February 8, 2013 at 8:04 AM

“On air Personality” AW. Thank me later.

    • dIMZ February 8, 2013 at 8:32 AM

Ya’ll can beef Toke from here to hell and back….the fact remains she is being recognized and if there was nothing good about her she wouldnt av been selected…..siddon here dey spit bad blood, the girl is getting all the accolades and smilling to the bank….***hiss***

    • Truth be told February 8, 2013 at 8:39 AM

No one is perfect blah! Blah! We all hide under this phrase. Seeing future mums do this, its really shameful. Ugonna you shocked me I had a lot of respect for you. This is shameful period. You are telling teenagers to strip naked too. They look up to celebreties.

    • Funmi February 8, 2013 at 8:46 AM

I thought people would be more critical of the arrangement of the picture, not what the ladies are wearing. They look great but something about the photograph is off. Maybe Ugonna should have been the focal point or the picture is off-centre… Can’t put my finger on it…

As for all this African woman bullshit. You people KNOW that you’re actually referring to RELIGION and not CULTURE, right? Culturally, many of our ethnic groups (definitely not all but MANY) wore very little clothing before White people came with their religion so many of you are actually complaining from that wannabe Iyawo Pastor part of your heart. Nudity (or sparse clothing) is not exclusively Western just like drowning oneself in fabric is not exclusively African. Be careful what you wish for because if you ask for “traditional” and get women wearing nothing but selective strips of clothing and waist beads on magazine covers, you’ll come and cry on BN again.

    • tito February 8, 2013 at 8:57 AM

AS IN I TIRE, Y IS TOKE EVERY WIA NAAA * ROLLING MY EYES*

    • Peachy_mo February 8, 2013 at 8:59 AM

Really, we some times miss the role of celebrities in the society. What are these young ladies portraying? What message are they passing? Encouraging the era of nudity? There are many young girls out there who look up to them. Our children can neither watch cable nor local TV because it is filled lewd contents and we all think it is right? Have we sold our birth right (culture) for nudity (civilization)? Don’t you find it alarming that you always hear young girls say they want to be like naked clad celebrities? If you are truly against violence against women, acid bath, rape e.t.c.then you should be a strong advocate against nudity because it stems from this. My personal opinion, nudity is inevitable in all society but it the level of acceptance that matters which Nigerians seems to have accepted whole-heartedly…even by the pace-setters

      • Ekene February 8, 2013 at 11:07 AM

“If you are truly against violence against women, acid bath, rape e.t.c.then you should be a strong advocate against nudity because it stems from this.”

Stems from what? Women are not responsible for men’s misbehaviour.
No wait. women like you are responsible, encouraging them, giving them excuses.

    • PH Boy February 8, 2013 at 9:15 AM

All these women will not kill me. A lot of the comments are laced with spite. I think i can understand where the haters are coming from; you dont look as good as they are and your ‘akara’ has probably gone cold. They are posing for a MEN’s magazine so let the men speeak. As for me, there is nothing obscene about the pic & dem set die!
It takes a lot to do these photos and i totally respect their hustle. If you dont like the pic, move on to the next blog and zip it !!

      • PH Gal February 8, 2013 at 9:41 AM

Oh put a sock in it! The ‘not so hot ladies hating on hot celebrities excuse’ is so played out. The magazine cover is there for pple to like or dislike. This isn’t about women hating on other woman. They’re simply voicing their opinions. If you have nothing useful to say then keep it moving.

Stop trying to feel like the voice of reason.

        • Yetty February 8, 2013 at 10:06 AM

LOl. U sound like one of the not so hot ones

    • oma February 8, 2013 at 9:25 AM

this is a men’s magazine for crying out loud!! i bet this issue will be sold out….many of our men buy playboy magazine for what reason? sex sells!

    • uche February 8, 2013 at 9:49 AM

i totally agree….Ugonna killed this cover….made the other two look invincible….

    • PH Gal February 8, 2013 at 10:19 AM

@Yetty: I sound like a not so hot one ’cause I’m tired of naija guys trying to set us ladies up against each other??? Was that meant to be sunny? Come up with something more tangible my dear.

      • PH Gal February 8, 2013 at 10:20 AM

        *funny

    • Stella Kashmoney February 8, 2013 at 10:31 AM

Beautiful cover. Ugonna looks amazing on it.

    • Opsy February 8, 2013 at 10:51 AM

Thanks PH Boy and Oma. Dont mind those hateful self-righteous women.

    • buky February 8, 2013 at 11:44 AM

So Do You Think You Are Setting A Good Milestone For The Younger Generation?
Lagos State Govt is forbidding porn marketer in Lagos and we are here encouraging half bloody NAKED gals in magazine dahaaaa!! What the flip! Please what are we telling our younger generation, that it’s right??? You mean if your 6 or 7 years old brother or sister picks up a porn magazine, let alone this so called magazine. How would you feel?
When you were 6 or 7 years old, were you exposed to these kind of things?????????????? Question and Answer?

Half naked girls is still Nudity.

Maybe I should define the word Nude to you?

I don’t understand why you people are hating on Toke. The girl is actually beautiful and has a great body and I haven’t read any meaningful comment . If you are not comfortable with this sort of thing, then just look away. All of you should stop hating and get a life. The girl is doing good, live with it. Well done Toke. Fan for life.

    • mike February 9, 2013 at 7:57 PM

Toke I thought you are a born again Christian. you are a disgrace.
