First Ladies Party
First Ladies, a weekly event to celebrate models and fashion designers will take place this Saturday at The Place, Lagos. There will be musical performances, guest interviews, mini runway show and lots of music. An after party will kick off at 11 PM. Admission is free for all.

Today, Nigerian sugar-craft cake maestro Tosan Jemide of Cakes by Tosan will unveil “The Tallest Cake in Africa” at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos. The groundbreaking event will also serve as a promotional platform for the sugar craft industry as a bonafide art form with incredible untapped potentials. Yari Yari Ntoaso
The organization of Women Writers of Africa (OWWA) and New York University in collaboration with the Ghanaian Mbaasem Foundation and the Fundación Mujeres por África (Women for Africa Foundation), present an international conference on literature by women of African ancestry. Tagged Continuing the Dialogue – An International Conference on Literature by Women of African Ancestry, the conference will cover issues ranging from identity of the writer to the craft of writing and even literary activism. These authors will be joined by other well-known writers including Angela Davis (USA), Ama Ata Aidoo (Ghana), Natalia Molebatsi (South Africa), Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro (Puerto Rico),Sapphire (US),Veronique Tadjo (Côte d’Ivoire) and Evelyne Trouillot (Haiti). To attend register HERE

Shadow Boxing Theatre: Second Place is the First Loser
In his new series of metaphoric paintings, Nigerian painter and media artist Emmanuel Dudu sets the sport of boxing as a backdrop for daily life in Nigeria today, including its challenges, rules, and social order.The Shadow Boxing Theatre: Second Place is the First Loser exhibition will hold at the AAF Gallery.     Was just thinking the same thing- all the fun things are in Lagos. But i guess its not true, the Lags crowd are just savvy at using platforms like BN well. I can bet the our PH has quite a lot billed for this weekend too only not advertised here.
