White & Black
Rita Dominic arrived at the Ebony Life TV launch yellow carpet in one of her best looks yet.

Away from all the dramatic frocks, Rita took a simple approach in white and black. Opting for a tousled up do, smoky eyes and nude lipstick, she styled her one shoulder white top and black pencil skirt with a black belt, silver drop earrings, a silver bracelet, a sparkly clutch and black sandals.

I was really excited to see Nkiru Anumudu at the launch of the Ebony Life TV on Sunday evening, because she always serves some of the best red carpet looks.

And this was no different. Nkiru who posed with her daughter Zina (in a sexy cut-out black dress) chose a white-and-black checkered dress from Marc Jacobs‘ Spring /Summer 2013 collection.

The beautiful high neck piece which features a sheer skirt, was styled with a white-and-black clutch, a gold wrist watch and white heels. Smoky eyes, nude lipstick and wavy blonde locks finished the look.

Chocolate City Records exec Audu Maikori was also seen in black and white. His white double breasted blazer was styled pretty much the same way as OC Ukeje, save for his plain black shirt.

Dolapo Oni in Ms Makor

When you co-host an event, you’ve got to dish out more fashion fabulousity. Well Dolapo gave us two more looks.

I think this was my favourite look of her at the event. She changed into a pretty black-and-white Ms Makor dress, which features a flared skirt. Still keeping her hair and make-up the same, the look was completed with red heels.

Her third and final look of the night was a canary yellow dress.

The dress which features a plunging neckline, covered by a sheer fabric, was accessorized with gold hoop earrings, a selection of gold bracelets and an eye catching pair of gold shoes.

We are not used to seeing Dolapo in pieces like this  – as she often takes a demure approach, so I am glad she shocked us with the dress.

Love it from the front to the Back
Genevieve Nnaji‘s dramatic Deola Sagoe frock was definitely worth a Kodak moment on Sunday evening.

The Nollywood star who opted for a sleek chignon and red lipstick, styled the lace dress which features a sheer skirt and an alluring train, with silver earrings, a silver clutch and black pumps.

Are you a fan of the custom dress?

If you’ve got a body like this, there is surely no crime in flaunting it.

Nollywood starlet Beverly Naya left little to the imagination in a black dress by April by Kunbi. The sequined dress which features a see-through sheer detail from the hip bone and a peekaboo cut on the back, was styled with diamond encrusted earrings and ring as well as a pair of black pumps.

Choosing a top knot, she completed the look with smoky eyes and pink lipstick.

Ruth Osime didn’t let all the pretty-young-things take away all the shine.

She looked resplendent in a royal blue high neck Meena dress which features sequined detailing on the shoulder and waist, a sexy cut-out on the back and an alluring train.

Giving us a taste of the 80s with her chic afro, she accessorized with silver drop earrings, a silver bracelet, a silver ring and a black clutch.

Ladies in Pants
It was Mo Abudu‘s big night – and prior to the event, I anticipated she was going to choose not 1, not 2 but at least 3 gorgeous dresses.

But Mo shocked all by choosing an embellished Deola Sagoe green pant suit through out the event. She styled the outfit which features lace detailing, with silver drop earrings.

What’s your take on Mo Abudu’s look?

When it comes to Nollywood star Kate Henshaw, 40+ is the new 20.

She chose a one shoulder satin blouse and metallic skirt with a thigh high slit. She accessorized with feather earrings, a gold bracelet, an ivory clutch and black shoes.

I am a tad bit disappointed that Kate didn’t opt for another pair of shoes. A metallic heel or gold sandals would have sold this look very well, but seeing her in that outfit, I doubt if anyone will concentrate on the shoes.

So no matter how long I had to scroll down, I had the image of Toke Makinwa looking like a bird stuck in my head until I ran into this……

    Egbami!!!! Ki re??

Oh well, on a less disturbing note…Genevieve has such beauty and class sha, ’cause even though that her dress had waaaay too much going on (i feel like putting a a pair of scissors through it from the knee down and she would have stolen the entire show) but she still worked it!!! Can you imagine if it were Susan Peters in that dress?? All hell would be breaking loose on social media right now!! hehehe, like I always say…everything for this world na Packaging!!!

    • Me July 3, 2013 at 11:45 pm

you got me in stitches..lmao @ egbami ki re..looooooooooool..i cant! i just cant!

  • Clo July 3, 2013 at 10:10 pm

So much pics…..hmmm, can I hardly tell where to start, now I know Nigeria is truly over populated. {{That girl Beverly Naya walked away with it for ME, I though it was all about Rita, Tiwa & Genevieve but but that girl just brought out the ‘wow’. The Men=Most Looked Dapper/sexy The Women=Most Very Dressy/classy and looked good (poor Toke…smh), so overall an event that left a talk about Red Carpet appearances.

  • Miranda July 3, 2013 at 10:15 pm

Dolapo ONI Sheldon’s have worn the green dress though, looked oversize. But the black and white dress is gorg!! Tiwa savage that dress is a no no no no no! Wth

  • ese July 3, 2013 at 10:38 pm

Lots of elegant dresses.Mo Abudu’s outfit is an epic fail. She normally has a more savvy sense of style. Why is Ruth Osime’s booty not smooth in her dress. Its like she wasn’t confident enuf to show us her back.

    • Rita July 4, 2013 at 9:10 am

She couldn’t show it, enough cellulite God save us!

  • ok July 3, 2013 at 10:40 pm

Coughs…indeed. They looked like they tried too hard and ended up still looking ordinary compared to the peeps I see here.

  • boom July 3, 2013 at 10:47 pm

I was taken aback by how beautiful Beverly Naya is in real life! That black dress was simply incredible on her, it was definitely risqué but it looked so classy and effortless. Thumbs up! Zainab Balogun is absolutely stunning and I really love the lady in the red sequined gown, lovely. Fabulous event

  • ZK July 3, 2013 at 11:30 pm

    • Oaken July 4, 2013 at 3:47 pm

I find it ironic how all the bigs girls can splurge on designer ish but won’t invest in a $40 spanx

      • cést moi July 4, 2013 at 4:52 pm

  • dee one July 4, 2013 at 4:44 am

Tiwa savage, Bridget Awosika, Rita Dominic and Stephanie Coker ( who’s my best dressed btw) all killed it IMO. A few misses here and there but overall a good looking yellow carpet plus the channel is da bomb…..I love it.

I’m loving Dr Sid and Alex’s look! They are both spot on trend!!! Blue is the colour for Summer 13 according to international designers. Big ups Dr Sid. Alex was a classic in black. He always looks mad on the red carpet! LOOOOVVVVEE!!! XX

  • BIMBY July 4, 2013 at 8:51 am

      jewelzmag.com

  • Lecker July 4, 2013 at 10:01 am

Toke always reminds me of a younger version of Nkiru Anumudu. Always looking bloodcurdling, there is definitely no simplicity in their dictionary, it always have to be overboard. Na wa oh

    • Ready July 4, 2013 at 11:43 am

+1! People talk about Madam Nkiru’s fashion sense and I’m like, for where? Babe always overdoes it between the poor taste in hair and the overdone outfits. Toke looks best when she does less…in these pictures, I just want to stretch her out ’cause her stature is overwhelmed by all she has on.
Mi-le needs to work on draping. Neither of the 2 outfits made by that designer were draped well.
Tiwa, no to the red carpet dress.
Toolz looked lovely, and I love that she and her bf do more PDA now…I didn’t like her before, but evidently she’s open to constant improvement, and that’s always great.
I liked Rita Dominic and Beverly Naya’s outfits a lot.
Mo Abudu gave me the Wendy Williams vibe…not good. Aunty Ruth, no. I also loved Bridget Awosika and Zaina Balogun’s dresses. Najite Dede..empire waists are your friend…just go the Grecian way.
A lot of the women and men looked great. This was definitely a good red carpet…more good than bad. And the hair wasn’t scary either, so yay!

  • joy July 4, 2013 at 10:08 am

  • Anonymous July 4, 2013 at 11:26 am

Please what is Mo Abudu wearing. hmmm Gen should have worn her gown short or have it totally covered instead of sheer….after the knee there was tackiness going on. Toolz your best accessory was your man…he’s damn too gorgeous

  • Chick on fire July 4, 2013 at 11:40 am

Yore gay joor…or just in the metamorphosis stage. Haba that last statement confirms it! Kilode? Which one is go on with your bad self! *hols laff*

  • G Gal July 4, 2013 at 3:43 pm

Toolz killed it, Tiwa- Not too good…and Kunle Afolayan’s suit combi – not nice at all – would have been better if the bow tie color matches with the color of his pants… most of the men are however looking very dapper!..good job

Ok so i just wanted to comment on how as usual Bridget Awosika’s pieces are fabulous and so Hollywood..love it on Bev Naya..Only to read someone’s comment and see how much they need psychological intervention..@TEWANDO,you are the saddest and most depressed person existing so far..seen from your comment..when a person can’t even praise or uplift just one person in all the photo’s you fed ur eyes with,wow..some people are deeply sorrowful…Your comment tells that you lack, you’re empty inside, bitter and so can’t be happy for anyone..Get help!

  • style@atl July 5, 2013 at 3:02 pm

Tewando, i’m sure everyone u commented about and others on Bellanaija would like to see what you look like, plus ur feet and legs too..i bet you’re d worse thats why ur comment is so sad.
