BN Beauty: Go Dark with Shirley B. Eniang’s Deep & Sultry Makeup Tutorial for “Fall”

Ahhh the “-ember” months have finally arrived. The time the “Summer” makeup goes away and “Fall” makeup comes out to play. I have to say I like this time of the year. There is something about makeup for cold weather that brings out the Prada model in me.

Just like Summer, when it gets colder in the year, your makeup look changes. You start to switch the light pinks and nude lips for deep reds and deep purple. Speaking of deep purple, that is what our makeup tutorial today is based on. We are going to be taking makeup ques from Nigerian beauty blogger Shirley B. Eniang as she pulls off a stunning deep purple makeup look that is great for cold weathers.

For some, it might look a bit too much so you could decide to change the lip colour. Here is what you will need to achieve the look.

Face

Foundation: Studio Fix Fluid, NC45 (MAC)
Cheek Contour: Minerlise Skin Finish Natural, Dark (MAC)
Blush: Pinch Me (MAC)

Eyes

Lid: Cranberry (MAC)
Outer Corners & Crease: Plum dressing, Sketch (MAC)
Browbone: Orb (MAC)
Lower Lash Line: Permaplum (MAC)

  • mkm September 10, 2013 at 11:20 am

she looks better without makeup. i actually hate the dark gothic look. no offense.

  • banimo September 10, 2013 at 11:44 am

Pretty girl…she looks better without that make up.The lipstick color accentuates her lips and mouth in a not so good way

    • uju September 10, 2013 at 12:48 pm

i agree with you, shes blessed to have such a good skin and feature she spoils it with the makeup!

  • uju September 10, 2013 at 12:48 pm

She needs to experiment on other products, madam MAC?? Also, that padded bra is serios (in my best Yoruba accent)

    • Aduke September 12, 2013 at 4:49 pm

But that’s the product she LOVES! Why are u bothered tho?? Smh…

  • Kane September 10, 2013 at 1:06 pm

This look only works on light skin girls sadly

    • lola September 10, 2013 at 2:12 pm

I think anyone can rock the look.

  • lola September 10, 2013 at 2:11 pm

which fall and summer oh ? Biko. please get real.

  • asgrl September 10, 2013 at 3:48 pm

Some of you commentators are absolute nutters and cyber bullies.

If you don’t like makeup on women, don’t click on a makeup tutorial link.

If you don’t like the MAC brand then buy Revlon or Chanel or Iman or NARS, whichever one your money can buy. Any sane person who watches a beauty guru’s channel knows they only make suggestions but recommend you use whatever works for you.

And for the crazies dumbfounded by the seasonality of make up trends. So sorry that not every one who reads BN is posting from Naija central. These BN *itches need to start posting makeup and fashion trends for Harmattan or Rainy season only abi? Shio!

  • lola September 10, 2013 at 4:23 pm

Pele dear. No one is dumbfounded by the seasonality of makeup trends. I want to believe most BN readers are based in naija and the last time i checked ‘
“We aspire to be Africa’s Number 1 music, style, movie, tv and beauty website.”
If I want to read about fall and summer makeup trends I know where to get that information from. temptalia, theybf, necolebitchie. etc. Why should i be reading about fall/summer trends on an African site?Do you see any of these sites writing about harmattan and rainy season makeup trends? Why should they? I see no reason why they should because most of their readers are based where they are. I repeat BN needs to get real. if you have an issue with my comment you can go jump inside Lake Como.

N.B you also need to learn how to pass your point across without resorting to calling people names.

      Dear Lola,
We regularly review and analyze our analytics and the majority of BN readers are not based in Nigeria.
We work to prepare content to cater to our readers worldwide.
Even in Africa, some countries do have winter and fall e.g South Africa (South Africa is in the 10 Top list countries where BN readers reside)
We post over 5 times more content than we did a year ago each day, therefore not every article is targeted at everyone.
      Thanks!

      • lola September 10, 2013 at 5:05 pm

        Dear BN,
I’m aware that South Africa has a different climate from the rest of Africa. That said, thanks for clarifying that majority of your readers are based in South Africa. I guess you can continue to cater to the majority of your South-African based readers then.

        Thanks. :)

      • Qongpo September 10, 2013 at 7:46 pm

@ Lola BN never said majority of their readers are based in South Africa. It clearly reads
‘South Africa is in the 10 Top list countries where BN readers reside’. You can’t expect every post to please or cater to you.
        — BN keep doing your thing. I like the fact that your contents cater to different people living in different parts of the world.

lola you be real okpata yarner…..

      • Dear Bella September 11, 2013 at 4:43 pm

I get where you are coming from BN team but you must admit that you guys ALWAYS pander to fashion or make up trends with taglines of seasons that are not applicable in Nigeria. Yes Nigeria is not where the majority of your readers are but it will be good if once in a while we see fashion or makeup trends that don’t shout summer, fall, autumn, spring, winter and all that jazz. I may be wrong but I have never seen any style tips or makeup tips for harmattan season. Like I said before, I may be wrong. If I am correct, you guys have the next coming months to come up with something. Harmattan is coming. Do something Nigerian for a change. Even with your BN Cuisine too na so so foreign food. Once in a while we see something culturally Nigerian. Only once in a while. I can also mention many other features like that. From where I am sitting you guys only have the Bella Naija (Naija) title when it suits you. You are as foreign as foreign comes. Note I did not say international. I said FOREIGN. Nigeria may not be the country where your top readers come from BUT your income and revenue comes MAJORLY from Nigerian businesses. I don’t need to see your account books to know that. So think about that before you turn to a sell out and be spouting Google Analytics. As if it is Google that pays the bills. Anyway your competitor LI is doing very very well for herself because she understands the terrain she resides. She also has international readers, even more traffic than you guys. Make una continue pandering to your foreign readers, who will come and voltron for you guys. They don’t advertise and pay the bills. They are using your site for free. Sleep on that. if you like don’t post my comment. Someone on your team will read it. That is enough for me. Epistle over.

The lips are too big for such a dark shade. It highlights the big lips too much. IMO

  • Cynthia September 10, 2013 at 8:16 pm

She is so pretty, she doesn’t even needs makeup, she looks so innocent without makeup.

  • jacintha September 12, 2013 at 12:03 pm

We have a lot of silly shallow minded pple in naija n beyond… U just sit behind ur fones, laptops or watever n bring down pple’s handwork wit ur biased views… Make up isn’t for everyone n nobody is forcing anyone to wear makeup… Shirley is good at wat she does… Its a makeup tutorial for pple who are aiming to achieve dat look. She has a beautiful skin and she’s very proud of it n doesn’t wear makeup all d time. Most of u pple criticising n yarning crap… Wat have u achieved in life???

    • Aduke September 12, 2013 at 4:41 pm

Well said dear!! Very well said! Some people will never ever see any good in nothing!! Always the negative!! Jeez! One thing I’ve noticed also on Naija blogs, some people just luv to jump on the bandwagon! One person starts with “She looks better without makeup.” and they all follow up! Mscheeew…mehnn learn to have a mind of ur own!
