The latest edition of Y! Magazine is out – and as usual, it’s a celebration of ideas, issues and culture, headlined by two inspiring Nigerians, the songwriter and musician Timi Dakolo, and beauty entrepreneur and chief executive of House of Tara, Tara Fela-Durotoye.

“It’s a special edition that celebrates the continent’s biggest youth platform, The Future Awards Africa (TFAA), and we are excited to dedicate this issue to the brightest and best of the continent,”  said Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, who is associate editor of the magazine.

“And we’re excited by the fact that the exciting double covers feature two young Africans who perhaps best symbolize its essence – Timi Dakolo, whose performances at the awards over the past few years foreshadow his important music contributions from “Cry” to “Great Nation” and Tara Fela Durotoye, a two-time winner and Young Person of the Year 2007, whose feat in single-handedly building make up and beauty into a career path and lucrative sector for young women and men easily makes her one of the continent’s most important female role models.”

The shoots are photographed by Obi Somto (for Timi Dakolo) and Aham Ibeleme (for Tara Fela-Durotoye), directed by associate editors Tunde Kara and Ifeanyi Dike, styled by Ifeanyi “Ifan” Michael, with the profiles by Wilfred Okiche.

The magazine also includes incisive op-eds on life and country by some of the country’s best, a revealing interview with three of the young people who have taken over Lagos on skates, profiles of the nominees of this year’s TFAA, and an exclusive – you-can’t-afford-to-miss-it – interview with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

This is rounded as always with the best in the culture – music, movies, television, places, literature, radio, and some stunning fashion. “With over 30 pages of art, fashion, and entertainment, go ahead and call it a bouquet,” Orekoya added.

The issue is currently available in stores and from vendors across the country.

Y! is available in stores and from vendors across the country. It is also available at all House of Tara Stores in Lagos, Abuja, Ilorin, Port-Harcourt, Benin, Kano, Ibadan and Kaduna and Y! campus representatives in 19 states.
