      • Seki January 20, 2014 at 2:51 am

hahahaahaha best reply! Kai people need to mind their business. Why do we focus on their personal life and not their work.

  • Sunshine January 18, 2014 at 10:37 pm

Am sick of vague /weary questions that can only generate
incoherent answers. The same tired questions have been asked over
and over and the answers are always neither here nor there and 10
secs to answer the question, ohhh Pulease!!!!. Also, the question
could have been rephrased as: From your experiences, name 3
qualities that are integral for our young generations to showcase
themselves as confident change agents ? The contributors “may have”
then been able to answer without digressing. And don’t get me
    started on the anchorman………..

    • Just an opinion January 19, 2014 at 4:40 am

You can say that again…talk is cheap…vague talk is cheaper…tscheww

  • Sunshine January 18, 2014 at 10:39 pm

    • More February 3, 2014 at 5:45 pm

I Just tire! we’ve created our very own Kim K. how very annoying :(

  • Audrey Gold January 18, 2014 at 11:12 pm

I am glad that we have a platform for Nigerians to talk. It
is a wonderful initiative. However, the questions were not
specific. To have an educated and educative dialogue a lot of
research is needed and I feel like this panel is lacking in that.
It’s like the interviewer just asked questions that she feels will
sound intelligent and the panelists didn’t really think about the
questions and the effects of their answers before giving them.
Panel sessions are supposed to be somewhat rehearsed so that the
panelists have in-depth knowledge on the topics about which they
    are speaking.

  • Tunji January 18, 2014 at 11:26 pm

What is it with Bellanaija and this Toooookee sef?

  • Chic January 18, 2014 at 11:51 pm

lol @the comments so far! Who organised the sound system
for this event it was terrible! And where did they get that
moderator from was a better interviewer not available…or they
didn’t want to pay top dollar for the good ones

  • sunshine’s friend January 19, 2014 at 12:07 am

dear sunshine, i can tell you wish you had the microphone,
meanwhile it’s a “conversation” not a quiz, job interview or
screening, it was meant to be in a discussion mode, and no the
question wasn’t asked before, it was tailored to the panelists who
unfortunately came on when there was obviously no time “according
to oscar”…..so miss sunshine, its quarter to rain, pls get an
    umbrella

    • Sunshine January 19, 2014 at 3:26 pm

Hian!!!! I have my own special friend here on BN. I normally do not reply to comments directed at me cos I don’t take them personal. I just leave my 2pence, appreciate other people’s comments and scream NEXT!!!! But I will go ahead and respond to my friend.
Firstly, I do not wish I had the microphone cos am too shy and would probably have started singing: Jesus loves me, yes I know…… my brain cells would have frozen as it was a live / publicised talk show. But I have, in the past, moderated talk shows on lesser scales and the topic of interest determined how the questions are phrased. For an already stream lined topic like: Same Sex Bill, an anchorman can entertain in -depth discussions because there is nothing really new to add, the arguments will simply be for OR against with any available supporting information. However, when you mention development, change, young generation, you are threading on a thin ice over vast information, knowledge and expertise. Yes, it is not a quiz but you want to ask questions that will generate punch lines answers, key points and phrases that will have lasting impacts on people. The anchorman could have done better with her questioning and presentation skills.
Secondly am not the only with the opinion. Audrey Gold, Chic, Yoyo and I seem to be dancing to the same tune.
Thanking you my friend for your feedback and have a nice week.
P.S….I don’t need an umbrella, what I need is a thick, warm winter jacket.

  • chinco January 19, 2014 at 12:08 am

She looks so smug in this picture. I bet shes thinking she
fooled all her haters (the haters the voices in her head keep
telling her she has) especially since she put it in the papers
recently (and also on bellanaija) that she had ended her
    relationship with this same guy.

    • Truetalk January 19, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Why do you assume she put those in the papers? You have to be a hater to pretend like you don’t know she is hated. Why, I don’t know? Smart, confident, hardworking, disciplined (evidenced by her focus on her goals and relationship, despite the negativities) and making a honest living. What is there to hate unless one is a loser?

The more one hates on a success story (not a thief), the harder it becomes to succeed. If na one politicking tiff or in pikin, una go dey drool. But someone who earns an honest living? Hate won’t allow you to respect their game. People should spend less time finding perceived faults of Toke to emphasize, and more time deemphasizing theirs.

    • AW January 20, 2014 at 2:13 pm

By your comments, you have just confirmed to her and others that she has haters!

  • sunshine’s friend January 19, 2014 at 12:19 am

    bella…hmmm post my comment oooo

  • Olive January 19, 2014 at 12:20 am

So she carried one hair for her wedding, and another hair the next day. That’s why some Naija girls your hair does not grow. Let your scalp heal before you layer it with another weave. BN you need better news aside from these mediocre personalities.

  • yoyo January 19, 2014 at 12:31 am

kai..what the hell did these people just say? a lot of
nothing really. As far as i am concerned they didnt answer the
questions…People need to stop using entertainers as the face of
the youth in areas that require intellect. There are so many young
brilliant and well spoken young people that would have answered
these questions well. The guy was the only one that made a bit of
sense. Toke and eku you guys sounded like you had no
clue..especially toke.. not a good look.

    • Mz Socially Awkward… January 19, 2014 at 6:45 pm

Thank you for pointing that out. I wonder what the rationale was for assembling this particular selection of entertainers if the focus was on representing a generation of Nigerians in a discussion like this? Omoni should have simply represented the entertainment industry and they could have filled the remaining 3 slots with young Nigerians from other walks of life. And the moderator really should have been more professional, she used up their limited time by talking for longer than was required of her. Less & more concise words of introductions would have helped.

    • Funmi January 19, 2014 at 10:44 pm

If you feel like they said nothing. Please can you kindly educate us on what the right answers to the question is? Thank you. All we do is criticize, but at least they are making an effort. It is the duty of every Nigerian youth to collectively work together to drive change in this country. But when you do nothing but criticize those, that are trying in their own little way to do something. Then the least you can do for choosing not to do anything is to encourage them . Bcos at the end of the day it is those that have made themselves available, that would be given the opportunity to represent us.

    • Ivie Oronsaye January 20, 2014 at 4:48 am

you nailed my opinion dearie…cant deal with this .

    • shield January 27, 2014 at 10:02 am

for real, i was taken aback by their answers. they didnt understand the question and they think speaking ‘english’ will make us forget the subject matter. Toke was really off.

  • Cool cat January 19, 2014 at 12:54 am

Seriously though, where is her wedding ring or was the
wedding pic just a photo shoot? I guess toke tried to pull a
Beyoncé on us, surprise surprise! She loves the applause, there
can’t be a worse fame whore in our parts, even tweeting about the
number of calls she received. Smh. No make up artist for this
event? Because this photo doesn’t look like the perfect beat face
    toke normally presents.

    • Laide January 19, 2014 at 1:30 am

So she must good everyday, just to satisfy people like u..smh

    • Truetalk January 19, 2014 at 12:34 pm

She left her ring in ur purse.

  • wiklo January 19, 2014 at 2:47 am

Omoni just said we should stop washing our dirty linens in public especially on social media …I would have loved to see Toke’s face at that moment….and they were on that stage for just 4mins????

  • Sharon January 19, 2014 at 3:47 am

  • SOLO ACT January 19, 2014 at 7:11 am

she probably dint want a big wedding because she dint have the MONEY to throw the kind that TIWA savage used to scatter lagos! lol

    • Cancel Reply January 19, 2014 at 7:49 am

Sigh!!I get sad when I see people berate others! Most we all marry like Tiwa?I know so many rich people that have opted for small wedding and I know regular folks that have borrowed money to pull off big wedding!Let everyone do what they want to.

      • kilipot January 19, 2014 at 11:51 am

It’s one thing to be rich and want a small wedding and another to be a hustler trying to keep up like a diva. Live according to what you can afford, else it becomes a conscious and not so easy effort to keep up appearances. There is nothing wrong in being YOU. You can be you and still be everybody’s sweetheart, it does not always have be a struggle.

    • Truetalk January 19, 2014 at 12:24 pm

It is people like you that promote, if not engage in, thievery to impress. Should the quality of marriage be judged by the amount of money spent on the wedding? Or should a wedding be filled with loved ones or everyone including haters to prove a point?

      • SOLO ACT January 19, 2014 at 10:15 pm

i am not saying people should be thieves, people do small wedding all the time that they are pretty! i am saying TOKE WAS TOO EMBARRASSED to throw an ACTUAL WEDDING. she rolls in circles that were born into wealth, people with “NAMES IN THE SOCIETY” . toke is just an alampozer that dint want to be exposed that is why she opted for what looked elopement.

  • Ifeyinwa January 19, 2014 at 7:35 am

I agree with you, solo Act.

    • SOLO ACT January 19, 2014 at 10:11 pm

thank you oo! TOKE is an ALAMPOZER!!!! she probably dint want us to see the rest of her family. with hr fake british accent. she is JUST CLIMBING THE SOCIAL LADDER and dint want to RISK PuLLING OFF A SUBPAR WEDDING. THERE IS nothing WRONG WITH A SMALL WEDDING

      • Truetalk January 22, 2014 at 2:14 pm

And you know that, how? Did you miss the part where it was written that her family was there? Who are this “us” anyway? Get a life, sweetheart. Please do. You could be contributing positively to society with a different attitude. Back away from the hateorade.

      • I_hate_bitches February 14, 2014 at 6:43 pm

Your comment is funny. It’s sad what people would say or write about you simply because they don’t know a person. With that said, so what exactly was your point by making that statement?! You are just mad that you ain’t in her shoes…….Kim K or whatever you all want to call her at least she ain’t stopping. She brushes all the haters of her shoulder……… So, y’all swerve to the other side and let my girl breathe.

  • Bossom January 19, 2014 at 7:39 am

Toke and her rambling. Lol. Nervousness is a murtha. The fear of public speaking is the beginning of wisdom.

    • I_hate_bitches February 14, 2014 at 6:47 pm

But would you have done any better?!!!!……I’m sure squirms like you that hide behinds computers & type jargons on social media are usually rachect!…..ughhhhh!!!

  • bbi January 19, 2014 at 7:46 am

I can’t stand it when blogs/publications automatically assume the woman took the man’s last name! So annoying! The writer now added his first name too!

    • Chic January 19, 2014 at 9:56 am

Tell them! That pisses me off to

  • Cancel Reply January 19, 2014 at 7:54 am

I guess since she is now married, she must lose all sense of identity including her first name.Sigh!

  • Chic January 19, 2014 at 9:59 am

Bloggers – helping newly married women’s loose their identity since…forever

  • Cocobutter January 19, 2014 at 10:25 am

Trully i feel sad for young girls esp teens who look up to toke as a role model, its a pity that good morals and the bibles admonition on ‘avoid all forms of sexual immorality’ is no longer in vogue. May God help us all. Amen

    • kilipot January 19, 2014 at 11:55 am

Which one is sexual immorality again lool did u catch her having *#× ni?

    • Truetalk January 19, 2014 at 12:32 pm

Do you obey everything in the bible, mother there? If you don’t, as i know you don’t, you are a hypocrite of the worst kind. How do you even know what her sexual history is? You sabi her? Listening to her vlogs without prejudice, actually, sounds like she promotes abstinence. Be objective in your condemnation and state what she should not be emulated on.

  • QUESTION January 19, 2014 at 2:17 pm

I have a really important question to ask. Why do people hate on Toke so much? Like the hating is real! Can she live? Anyway like they say, If people are talking so much it means you are doing something right. As for @cocobutter you are the true definition of hater. What do u do with your own life that “kids” should look up to. You are very unserious. Someone who is hard working like Toke. Hate all u want but u cant deny she has earned her success!

    • Truetalk January 22, 2014 at 2:17 pm

Bcos they are leading a miserable life. They must find someone else’s imperfections to make themselves feel better, rather than work on their own shortcomings.

  • www.LapesBeautifulCreature.blogspot.com January 19, 2014 at 7:11 pm

Lol, the comments on here tho… sigh

  • Ib January 20, 2014 at 12:28 am

Na wah oh.Some people are sooooo full of hate. Wow!!Women dont really like themselves though. Can Toke live? Like for real.

  • sunshine’s friend January 20, 2014 at 1:28 am

miss sunshine, im wishing the girl you are washing knows you are talking much about her ooo, i just found out her name is Adesewa Josh, and if you had watched the broadcast which was live by the way, you would may be understand using your little brain what im trying to get at, if not, too bad, yes tnx sharon, she needs the most recent version of daniel jones…..the lesson? miss sunshine, like everyone else who races into shallow conclusion need to take a chill pill, as for toke makinwa, lolz, pause and think guyz, how about the break up was a publicity stunt in the first place?????.

  • mia January 20, 2014 at 9:23 am

anytime i read about this Toke matter, what just comes to my mind is: in the next 10-20 years, will this lady make any sense to anyone? the answer is usually, not likely. i remember the happening ladies when we were growing up, who remembers them again? they all bleached their skin off, used the exotic makeup and all, but where are they today? nowhere.

this Toke’s chapter like all these other ladies too shall pass.

    • Wuelsebutabby???!!! January 20, 2014 at 12:34 pm

Who cares??? All we really have is now anyway! Do you have any idea where you will be in the next 10-20 years? Ask yourself that question first and if you are able to answer without batting an eyelid then your comment will become relevant, for now, it’s irrelevant.

    • Truetalk January 22, 2014 at 2:23 pm

Those she make sense to you now? What is it about happening babes that bother you? They remind you of how you are not happening? Let that inspire you to be relevant, dear. You are confusing issues. Is your beef that she is relevant now, or that you bliv she bleached your, i mean her, skin?

      • Truetalk January 22, 2014 at 2:27 pm

Does she make sense to you now?…

  • porshe diva January 20, 2014 at 11:57 am

Haters keep hatin while @tokstarr keeps succeeding! #hypocrites

  • mia January 20, 2014 at 2:36 pm

it’s shotsightedness that makes a person think only about the now. if only the now matters, why then did u go to school or learn a trade? you should have kept on sucking your mother’s breast while you grow old and become a menace at home. i bet, it’s this same mentality that is killing our country, the reason for the gathering in the first instance.

    • Truetalk January 22, 2014 at 2:26 pm

You make no sense, i am sorry. Reconstruct.

  • TheWholeTruth January 24, 2014 at 4:51 pm

@ Truetalk , either you are Toke Makinwa posing as TrueTalk or you are Toke’s PA. If none of the above, please get yourself a job cos you are jobless to be responding to all comments directed at Toke.

If Toke has not been posting all her life epistles on the internet, nobody will direct hateful comment on her. She is not the only lady on an everlasting courtship or got married by surprise but she is being taking about cos that is what she wanted to be popular. So Truetalk get yourself a job or better still become Toke’s PA.
