Supporters Come Out for the “Arabian Night for Sickle Cell” Awards Presentation & Fundraising Event in Lagos!

On Friday 29th May 2013, the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria held a fundraising and awards dinner tagged “Arabian Night for Sickle Cell” at the Shell Hall of the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The fundraiser was aimed at raising awareness about the sickle cell disorder, the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria and its services and showing appreciation to all the individuals and corporate organisations that have supported the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria over the years; as well as raise funds for the treatment, building of infrastructures, care and support for people with sickle cell now and in the future.

The event was attended by sponsors of the foundation such as Union Bank, First Bank, Sterling Bank, Food Concepts and the Silverbird Group. The venue was well decorated in tune with its theme with live camels, Aladdin themed lamps and drapery.
Hosting the event as the comperes were Ali Baba and Tosyn Bucknor.

Guests commended the food as well as the other highlights of the evening which included the musical performance by young members of the Sickle Cell Club, the Eda Theartre Group who treated the guests to a dance drama portrayal of societal ills, the fashion show produced by the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN), a stellar performance by Timi Dakolo, the awards presentation, raffle draws and more.
