BN Beauty Live at “Beauty UnMasked” #SMWLagos 2014! My Makeup NG, LilPumpkinPie05, ThatIgboChick & Other Makeup Enthusiasts Talk Shop
On Friday 21st February 2014, makeup artists, bloggers and entrepreneurs gathered to talk shop; discuss beauty and makeup from a diverse point of view, dissect current trends and propose solutions to some of beauty’s unanswered questions. The event titled “Beauty UnMasked” was organised by My Makeup NG, Ndani TV and BellaNaija.com during Social Media Week 2014.
The two-day event consisted of a thrilling discussion by a beauty panel; Jennifer Obiuwevbi of BellaNaija Beauty, Youtube sensation Jackie Aina a.k.a. LilPumpkinPie05, Beauty blogger Ezinne Alpha of Beauty in Lagos, Beauty Vlogger Chidimma Umeh of Thatigbochick, Popular OAP Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Celebrity Makeup artist Theodora Mogo of Doranne Beauty and the My Makeup NG Team – Bukky Kinoshi & Temitayo Sojebe. And a makeup master class with the very talented Jackie Aina a.k.a LilPumpkinPie05 of MakeupGameOnPoint.

What did we discuss? Everything. From the fact that over 77% of Nigerians use skin lightening products (According to the World Health Organisation) to other current issues surrounding beauty like the #TeamNatural sensation that is sweeping the continent, how we, as content curators, can determine the trends on social media while incorporating culture and tradition and of course our way of helping the African woman see herself as the strong, beautiful and independent woman she truly is.

As part of the “Beauty UnMasked” tour, the beauty experts filmed a series of short videos earlier on in the day with NdaniTV where we talked about our 3 beauty secrets. Makeup artist Theodora Mogo also made a beauty tutorial video showing how to get AMVCA Red carpet ready with a sexy vampy makeup look. {Click here if you missed it}

Beauty blogger Ezinne Alpha is the face of the line which includes names like Mainland Babe, Lekki Babe, Owambe, Purple Haze, Beauty In Lagos, Wedding Crasher, Shakara, and more.
The tour culminated in Los Angeles with an appearance at The Makeup Show where Jackie Aina and Bukky Kinoshi discussed the trip with world-renowned Celebrity Makeup artists including AJ Crimson, Beat Face Honey, Renny Vasquez and Oprah’s manicurist Gloria Hill a.k.a Foot Nanny.
