Directed by: Jaume Collet-Serra Unknown(2011)
Screenplay by John W. Richardson, Christopher Roach and Ryan Engle.
Story: John W. Richardson and Christopher Roach.
Notable Stars: Liam Neeson Taken (2008), Julianne Moore Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011), Scoot McNairy Argo (2012)

The Script
Picture this; Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson’s character in Taken) flying to Europe to rescue his daughter from the Albanians. He disguises as air marshal and while on the flight, the Albanians plant some guys to frame him up. He then has to figure out their identities while being a total bad ass killing someone with one finger, delivering an awesome fight in a claustrophobic plane’s toilet and a whole lot of other implausible stuff.
I believe at this point, you know I just gave my version of what  is, but for those who don’t, I will get serious and tell you what the movie was truly about. Liam Neeson’s ‘Non-Stop’ tells the story of former Police officer turned air marshal who has to race against time to rescue the passengers on a plane from unidentified terrorists on board in what I call Taken in The Air.

Look, don’t believe anything (well almost anything) this movie throws at you. It’s probably as implausible as Fast 6. Just like Fast 6, it was too much fun to be taken seriously. The only thing you can do is just hop on the train and enjoy this awesome ride. The script crafted by  John W Richandson, Christopher Roach and Ryan Engle who are relatively unknown is a suspense filled thriller that leaves hints everywhere and has everyone even up to a little girl on the list of suspects as the terrorists.

There isn’t much of a story, so blame me not if my review also happens to be a rant.

The Directing
Director Jaume Collet-Serra who teamed up with Liam in the 2011 thriller ‘Unknown‘ which explored basically the same themes as Non Stop returns again with an impressive effort. With Nonstop taking place 90 % of the time on a plane, I as the viewer never for one moment noticed that. It made excellent use of its space and delivered an excellent thriller which had me at the edge of my sit until the last shot is fired.

The Acting
The best thing this movie had was Liam Neeson. If the man is put in a movie where he is to battle harmless potatoes, he will sell it.
He pulled off the role of the disgruntled sad sack/hero pretty well and had me convinced the entire time there was no way he could be guilty. Everyone else does a good job as supporting cast.

The Verdict
It’s simply a solid Popcorn & Soda. I don’t believe half of what I saw in the movie, but I had one heck of a great time. It the perfect No Brainer.
