OSOGBO (NAN) –  The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the allegation by the All Progressives Congress (APC) of a grand design by the party to rig Saturday’s Osun gubernatorial election.

Chief John Oyegun, APC National Chairman, on Thursday at a news conference in Osogbo alleged that the PDP had concluded plans to rig the election in all the 30 local government areas of the state.

Oyegun called on Prof. Attahiru Jega, INEC Chairman and Suleiman Abba, acting Inspector General of Police, to stop the alleged plan to rig the election in the interest of peace and fair play.

Oyegun was in company of Alhaji Lai Muhammed, APC National Publicity Secretary; Muheez Banire, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Adebiyi Adelowo, Osun APC Chairman, among others.

However, Diran Odeyemi, PDP Director of Publicity and Research, said the allegation was a figment of the APC’s imagination.

“APC is crying wolf where there is none. There is no basis for rigging at all. We have been campaigning for one-man-one woman-vote and every vote must count.

“Such allegation is the style of the APC. The party is just heating up the polity to cause tension but what we believe is that the electorate will decide,” he said.
