Don’t you just love the Minions? Although they are totally devoted to doing evil, they are just too cute to resist. They stole our hearts in Despicable Me 1 & 2, and were such a big hit that they now have their own movie.

Written by Brian Lynch and directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, the “Minions” movie will keep you smiling and entertained all through.

Starting as single-celled yellow organism, the Minions evolved through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters – from T-Rex to Napoleon. With continued failure at keeping their masters from going extinct, the Minions find themselves without a master and fall into depression. But one Minion, Kevin, has a plan. He alongside rebel Stuart and little Bob venture into the world to find a new evil boss for his fellow Minions to follow.

The trio embark on a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their nest potential master – Scarlet Overkill (the world’s first-ever female super-villain). They then travel from frigid Antarctica to the 1960s New York City, ending in London where they must face their biggest challenge yet – saving all ‘Minionkind’ from total annihilation.

Combining the inventive visual slapstick of old Looney Tunes efforts and the Wisenheimer sensibility of Rocky and His Friends, The Minion movie is rich in unexpected situations. What makes this movie even better is that many of its sequences are set to an exceptional collection of ’60s rock classics like the KinksYou Really Got Me, the Who‘s My Generation, the DoorsBreak on Through (To the Other Side),” the Box TopsThe Letter, the Rolling Stones19th Nervous Breakdown, the Spencer Davis Group‘s I’m a Man, and many more.

Although the minions are certainly little, yellow and different, they’ll no doubt continue to find glory being the wind beneath some other villain’s wings, but for now, they’re reasonably competent at being in the spotlight.

This movie is definitely one movie to see, as the characters provide endless amusement just by being themselves.
