Photos from the Relaunch of Reeds in Lagos

On September 17th 2010,  Reeds Thai Fusion Restaurant, Bar and Lounge unveiled its new world class venue. The new interior was designed by a prominent Italian interior designer, whose brief was to reinvent Reeds in line with more intimate, contemporary, Eurocentric design spaces, with the ultimate aim of showcasing, gourmet food, art, music and people.

According to Deji Akinyanju, Founder and CEO of Food Concepts, owners of Reeds – the substantial investment made in order to upgrade the restaurant’s interior was critical in light of the influx of new market entrants and growing competition. Akinyanju suggests, “Businesses operating in the food and entertainment sector cannot afford to be complacent these days. The Lagos market has changed dramatically in recent years, with customers becoming more savvy and demanding far higher levels of quality and service. Reeds has always enjoyed a good reputation, but it is important to stay ahead of the game”

He says, “we brought in a resident mixologist from Prague to develop designer cocktails and we flew in a French trained chef, who devised a decadent new dessert menu and worked with our team to artistically inspire our new plating designs. Our staff have now also all undergone training by a silver service restaurant professional. Taken together, we believe that Reeds is now well positioned to become a world-class brand”.
